"Of course not" Mary said in hurry. "I do not have boyfriend mom" she said shyly. "It seemed like you were so passionate with whoever you were talking to on the phone" her mom said jokingly. Mary wondered how much her mum heard, she wanted to aske her, but it would raise suspicions. So she just let it be. The food was almost done by the time they both went back to the kitchen, Mary and her mom set the table together. Her mom teased her some more about having a boyfriend which as responded to shyly. By the time Mr Wilberforce came back from work, the table was already set. "Dad" Mary greeted kissing her dad's chin. "I smell something delicious". He said sniffing the air. "Guess what dad, we are having Mac and cheese for dinner". "Wow!" He exclaimed. "My mouth feels watery already" he joked. They both laughed as they walked inside holding hands. "I would just drop these and come back for dinner, I can't wait to pounce on this delicious meal" he said jokingly.

Mary stopped in her tracks, with eyes wide open as he turned around to face her, she stood dumbfounded as those familiar blue eyes stared into hers getting her stuck where she stood. Her heart skipped several beats as she looked at him, her first instinct was to run into the kitchen where her mom was making breakfast and run into her arms where she would be safe from the monster that now stood in front of her. "Hi. Mary, long time no see" he said with a smile. Mary was calm a bit, his voice sounded friendly and not the cold murderous voice she was expecting to here. But what if he was being sarcastic? "What are you doing at my house? And how did you know my house?" She queried. Should she even be surprised that he knew her house? She was fully convinced then, since she had more reasons to believe he actually sent her threats the last time, he knew her house that was why he was able to send her threats. "Won't you even welcome me? Do you not miss me?" Mary thought she saw

"Oh! She mentioned to me once that she went to Tribeca for some work" Mrs Wilberforce said. "Mary you didn't tell your dad and I that you are working with Adonis Scott" she asked turning to Mary. "Oh! She might have forgotten to add that too". Mary bit her lips so hard that she started to feel the pains, she wished so badly that she could shut both Adonis and her parents up. Thankfully, they stopped talking about her for a bit. Adonis faced her dad and they started talking about business. "Thank you so much for inviting me to have breakfast with you" Adonis announced as they finished eating. "We are actually very hospitable people" Mrs Wilberforce said with a smile. "I would leave you and your friend to talk then" she said as she packed the dishes to the kitchen to wash them. "Mary, won't you come with me? Emma needs you so much at this time". Adonis said as soon as her parents were out of sight. Mary kept staring at him, he sure was a good pretender, his acting looked

Mary slowly raised her hand and rubbed Emma's back lovingly, trying so hard to comfort her. She could see that it was obvious that Emma was terribly shaken by the fire incident, she wondered how much damage the fire had caused and how it even started in the first place. But something inside of her told her it must have been Adonis who had set the fire, he has been proven to be a monster, but what kind of monster tries to hurt his own grandmother like this? Mary was heartbroken seeing Emma like that, that she almost started to regret leaving her. "Stay here while I go get you some juice" she said and tried to get up, she thought getting her juice would help calm her down. But all of a sudden she held unto her, asking her not to go away again. "I'm not going away again okay? I would just go get you some juice and I would be back immediately". It took much convincing before Emma finally let her go. Mary saw Adonis sitting in the sitting room before as she walked to the kitch

Mary's first instinct when she woke up the next morning was to check up on Emma, after making sure she was not looking the mess she normally looked every morning before she came out of her room. She went straight to Emma's room, the old woman was already awake and sitting on her usual spot, she looked quite calm that morning and okay too. "Good morning Ms Emma" Mary greeted with a smile on her face,. She responded to the greeting with an even broader smile. "How are you doing this morning and I hope you had a good night's sleep?" "I did, thanks to you" she said smiling. She requested for tea and toast that morning, Mary walked to the kitchen to get it ready for her amidst fears that it might be a trap and of course she was looking for a reason to become edgy and have another mood swings and that was why she requested for something different today. She however succumbed to her wish and made what she wanted. While Mary walked to the kitchen, she saw Adonis going out. He

She was getting ready to faint right there until she saw the car, and the direction it was heading to. It was not Adonis car, neither was to heading towards their house. But it belonged to one of their neighbors and was driving towards his house. Standing by the window Mary let out several sigh of relief. Thanks God it was not him. She moved away from the window and continued her search. Mary was disappointed by the time she was done with her search, she ended up not finding anything reasonable. It was just such a waste of time. Mary suddenly remembered the room Adonis had told her was out of bound, this was a good time to invade that room and nothing was stopping her from doing it. She quickly sneaked out of the study, and hurried away. In her rush forgot to lock the door just as she had met it. She rushed to the supposed secret room and repeated the same process she did with the other door, she twisted and turned her hairpin. When she felt like she was almost nearing open

Few minutes later, they both fell tiredly apart, breathing heavily. Mary felt very tired and could barely leave her eyes open, they slowly started to close and then the next minute she drifted to sleep. She woke up hours later to find herself lying on a very big bed, much more bigger than the one she had in her room and wrapped up comfortably in bed covers. She quickly sat up and looked around the room, it did not even look anything like her room. It was even more spacious and more exquisite than hers. She stood up from the bed, dragging the bed covers that had been used to cover her body along with her since she was still naked underneath. Adonis was nowhere to be found inside the room, she guessed he might have gone out to work. She felt a light throbbing in between her legs that served as a reminder to what she had done with him the previous night. Apart from that she had hickeys all over her body, causing her skin to turn red on several places. She did not know when a smile

Mary counted one step after another as she walked slowly towards Emma till she went to sit close to her on the couch. She was snacking on roasted groundnuts which she invited Mary to join her in, although Mary wanted to ask where she got it from, but then she brushed the thoughts aside and instead joined her in chewing the groundnut. Although she was sitting there, Mary could not bring herself to concentrate on the show. Once in a while Emma would tap her to call her attention to a funny scene, she would just laugh even though she had no reason to. After the show had ended, Emma requested for chicken soup for lunch. Which Mary rushed to go make for her. While Mary was in the kitch trying to make the chicken soup, she could not stop thinking about how Adonis is a killer, of not just anybody but his own parents. She started to make up different scenarios in her head on how he had killed his parents, did he shoot them? Did he use a knife? Which kind of monster would kill his own pa
