Amelia’s Pov

For some days now, I didn’t fail to observe something strange about Alexander. He looked distressed and as though in his heart laid different fears he couldn’t talk about.

Most times, I tried to talk and ask him what the problem was, but he made no attempt to talk to me about it.

“We can work on it together…whatever it is”, I had said to him with a reassuring smile, hoping that he would open up to me. But then, he would only smile and tell me that everything was fine.

And then, I decided to invite him over to the kitchen where we could cook and spend some time together.

It felt great to see him agreeing to such a thing, without any slightest disagreement.

“Have you thought of leaving this mansion and going somewhere else?” He suddenly asked and for a minute, I thought I heard wrongly.

It felt totally weird for him to ask such a question out of the blues. That wasn’t close to what I had expected him to ask.
