CHAPTER ONE

”I reject you, Luna Isabelle, as my mate. Not only were you caught in bed with another man but you sold the crucial information of the pack out, which could cause a huge loss for the pack."

The Moon Cave Pack was filled with people of different races. They were jubilating because, after the murder of the Alpha and Luna of the Moon Cave pack, the pack had been in mourning for over a month.

What kept them going was that, the Luna and Alpha were able to produce an heir before their sudden deaths.

However, the heir to the throne turns out to be a she-wolf. 

Isabelle Kingsley becomes an heir to the throne after her parents and her new title will be given to her alongside her mate tomorrow.

In a twinkle of an eye, everyone became confused when a wolf suddenly howled on the rooftop, signaling to everyone that there was a piece of important information to pass across.

They all stopped wining and dining and wondered what was happening. The coronation of Isabelle will be tomorrow, as she will be pronounced Luna of the Moon Cave Pack. Could there be something wrong?

Everyone gasped when they saw a woman dragged forward with just a towel wrapped around her body. A naked man was dragged by the guards to stand beside the woman. This naked man was badly beaten as blood dripped out of his body. He was on the verge of death.

Shock marred everyone's face when they discovered it was Isabelle who got dragged to the stage like a criminal.

Isabelle's heart palpitated in her chest as she looked at everyone under the shade of the canopy.

She was confused and also tongue-tied because she wasn't sure about what was going on.

She woke up only to find a man by her side and they were both naked. Suddenly, the door was pushed open, and guess who came in?

It was none other than Blake, her fated mate chosen for her by the moon goddess. The Alpha of the Coven Pack.

“Drag the whore out!" Those were the cold words that escaped Blake's lips.

She wasn't even allowed to explain and now she was dragged out to face the pack member.

“I'm so sorry, everyone but this celebration will have to be put on hold." Blake's cold voice reverberated through the crowd.

“What is going on?"

“Who is that man beside Luna Isabelle?"

“Could something be wrong?"

“This woman here just committed a grave crime," Blake added. His head hung low as he wiped his face as if he were crying. 

His eyes closed in pain as he stared at Isabelle, who hadn't grasped what was going on yet.

“I just caught Luna Isabelle on the bed with one of the pack members."

”Ahh!" Everyone exclaimed in shock when they heard the words uttered by Alpha Blake.

No one could step out to question him because he is one of the most fearful Alpha. 

Isabelle's heart stopped!

It felt as if a cold bucket of water was poured on her. Her lips trembled as she looked at the naked man beside her.

It can't be true! Could it be she..

No! 

Isabella was sure she had spent yesterday evening with Blake in her room. She remembered drinking some wine while watching TV as they discussed her coronation about her new status as the Luna of Moon Cave Pack in two days.

She suddenly realized what was going on. Isabella dragged her feet and tried to stand upright but two guards held her down.

“That's not true!" Isabella screamed with every ounce of her strength. Her throat hurt as the lump in her throat threatened to make her burst into tears.

It wasn't the tears of joy. It was the painful tears of betrayal.

She became a fool.

“I didn't do that," she whispered lowly while her eyes wandered around in circles. Her voice began to break as she whispered.

She held her head, trying to remember what happened, but she remembered nothing. 

Her head was blank!

Her head became fuzzy as she felt a sudden headache.

She was void of any information, and she hit her chest in anger.

They all looked at her with disgust.

“The evidence is right here, members of the Moon Cave Pack. You know I loved Luna Isabelle but I can't accept this. This man right here was caught in bed with Luna Isabelle." 

Isabelle's mouth opened in shock as she looked around. She shook her head in denial.

”That will never happen. I swear on the Moon Cave Pack. I didn't do it, please."

“Please hear me out," Isabella muttered with teary eyes but no one believed her.

No one!

And this shattered her heart more.

”Isabelle didn't only commit this crime but I saw these papers lying on one of her bookshelves." Blake said as he dropped the title behind Isabelle's name. 

Blake made eyes with everyone as he raised the papers. He smirked inwardly when he saw the look on Isabelle's face.

Where is the brave girl?

“I found out Isabelle was planning to sell the pack out to the enemy pack because she was afraid she was not fit to be the Luna of Moon Cave Pack."

Now, Isabelle was sure she was done for. Adultery in Moon Cave Pack is not always taken lightly if the elders caught a whiff of it, but now that another crime has been added, Isabelle wasn't sure if she would escape today.

With her breath hitching and her knees weakening, Isabelle felt the tears trickle down her face.

She couldn't breathe well and a few words escaped from her shaking lips.

”I will never do that. That's not true, Blake. I loved you with all my heart" 

Her words got swallowed up by the crowd as everyone pointed their fingers at her.

“She should be killed!" Someone said in the crowd.

“Have her serve as a lesson to others. She is nothing like her parents," someone else added.

“I thought we were finally going to have a Luna but who knew she was nothing but trash? I feel sorry for Alpha Blake."

Isabelle wasn't sure about what to say again. She was still shocked and in a dazed state. Her gaze began to blur with tears as she tried to find a reasonable way to prove Blake's claim false.

But no one...

No one was on her side. She lost her mother and father in a day at the hands of the enemy pack. She has decided to become stronger with Blake by her side but she was wrong.

“Because of these groundless claims," Blake said and he walked towards where Isabelle kneeled on the floor.

She knew what Blake was going to say but she wasn't planning for this.

“I have someone who could prove that I was with you yesterday, Blake. Please, someone set me up," Isabelle muttered with teary eyes.

This is not the same Blake she knew because he looked different. More like a cold person. 

”Then who is it?" 

“Violetta. She will prove it. I didn't know this man, Blake. Please believe me." 

Blake turned away abruptly and faced the crowd. 

“Violetta, please step forward," Blake said, and Violetta stepped out of the crowd.

“Isabelle claimed that you can prove her alibi, is that true?"

”Yes Alpha. I didn't know Isabelle was interested in other men until last night. I saw her kissing this man on the terrace last night, but I didn't know it would result in this," Violetta explained, her voice etched with pain.

“Violetta! What are you doing?" Isabelle's heart broke when she heard her best friend say this.

It was all planned but who could be the orchestrator of this plan?

”Since you have all heard the truth, here is my first verdict."

”I reject you, Luna Isabelle, as my mate. Not only were you caught in bed with another man, but you sold the crucial information of the pack out, which could cause a huge loss for the pack."

Isabelle shook her head as she stared at Blake. The man she once looked up to with love and admiration has now caused her downfall.

“I accept your rejection," Isabelle murmured through tears. 

Pain shot through her heart. The bond broke, and her wolf whimpered in pain.

Her entire being was crushed right in front of her. Subconsciously, Isabelle raised her head the moment she heard Blake's next words.

“As an Alpha of Coven Pack, it's deemed fit that I must have a Luna by my side. I hereby pronounce Violetta as my mate and the Luna of my pack!"
