A note

Chapter 2: A note.

The next day. The sunlight peeped through the curtain, shining its beautiful light inside. It cast on Ava's beautiful face, showing off her beauty.

Ava squinted her eyes before finally opening them slowly. She closed it back instantly and the glaring sun pierced her eyes. She used her hand to block the sunlight and sat straight on the bed. She moved away to avoid the sunlight and moved to the other side of the bed.

Images of what happened last night flooded her mind and she widened her eyes in shock. SHE SPENT A NIGHT WITH A STRANGER.

She ran her hand through her hair in frustration. It's like escaping from a lion's den and entering a wolf's mouth. Though it's fine that she didn't spend the night with four men last night. But she was still deflowered in the end. She didn't even know the beast she spent the night with. Her eyes scanned the entire place, and she was surprised to see that she was in a luxurious room. This alone shows that she spent a night with one of the rich heirs.

The guy must be crazy. She remembered how he was rough with her last night. Despite her being a virgin, he still did not hold back and was thrusting into her with no mercy. Now Henry will be disappointed in her when he finds out she’s no longer a virgin. She always rejected Henry whenever he tried to kiss or hug her, saying they would do that on their wedding night. Now everything is gone. Her virginity was taken away by an unknown man.

Her eyes fell on the mirror, and she almost screamed when she saw her body was covered with hickeys.

"That bastard." She cursed under her breath. Her clothes were already ruined. Fortunately, she found a new cloth at the edge of the bed. The guy is a little reasonable after all. At least, he prepared a dress for her before he disappeared.

She can't stay here forever. She needs to go home. It's still early after all. She slipped out of bed and almost fell when her feet touched the ground. She's very sour down there. There is no doubt that the guy was full of energy. He must be a beast.

She managed to drag herself to the bathroom and take a quick shower. Fortunately, the guy didn't prepare a revealing cloth for her but a turtleneck instead. No one will know where she was coming from with this. Her blood stain was visible on the white bed.

Just as she was about to leave, her eyes caught a note on the table and a black card beside it. Out of curiosity, she picked up the note and the black card.

On the note it read "Contact me whenever you need my help."

"What the heck?" That was the word that escaped Ava's lips. Who does he think he is? After deflowering her. He disappeared and only left a note. That jerk. She checked the black card and only found a number on it. No name. No picture. The only thing on the card is the man's number. The man is definitely weird. There is no doubt about that. She didn't want to see the jerk who took advantage of her drunken state and deflowered her. There is no way she will call him. She would just consider it a normal one-night stand. They will have nothing to do with each other again in the future, anyway.

She wanted to drop the card but changed her mind the next second. It won't hurt if she keeps the card anyway. She checked her phone and saw she had already missed eight missed calls from Abigail. Her best friend. No one called her except Abigail. She decided to call Abigail when she reached home. She shoved the phone in her bag and ran out of the place. She needed to get home on time so no one would notice she was missing.

She sucked in a deep breath before stepping into the house. She knew she would get scolded again by her foster parents. She might be lucky if they did not hit her like they used to. She dragged some air into her lungs and stepped inside the house.

She was surprised to hear laughter and giggles coming from the living room. Out of curiosity, she entered the living room and was surprised to see a strange man with her parents in the dining room. They all directed their gazes at her when they noticed her presence.

There is no way she will escape now that she has been caught. She sucked in a deep breath to calm herself.

"Good morning Father. Good morning Mother". She greeted.

"Morning." Mr Smith replied dryly "Where have you been?" He questioned.

She was at a loss for words for a moment. She tried her best not to walk in any funny way, so they wouldn't notice anything suspicious.

"Just let her be. Maybe she went to sleep over at her friend's house. You know her friend that used to come to this place to sleep over," Mrs Smith said, and she let out an awkward laugh.

Ava couldn't explain what was going on. But one thing was clear, they were trying to hide the fact that she was being maltreated.

"Hey, come here, Ava. Won't you come and have your breakfast?" Mr Smith said and flashed her a smile.

Ava dragged some air into her lungs and walked over to them. She took her seat beside the middle-aged man who had come to visit them. She would rather sit beside a stranger than sit beside any one of the two. She wondered why a guest would come this early in the morning. Not like she cares though. This is not her house after all. She was only adopted, and she was not treated like a real child. She did not even spare the middle-aged man a glance.
