Heartbreak

Chapter 4: Heartbreak.

 "Mom, Dad, Ava, I'm so sorry. I am pregnant with Henry. We both found out we were in love with each other. I am so sorry Ava, it was not my intention to take your boyfriend. But I can't stop my feelings from growing further. You can scold me, you can curse me, but please don't blame Henry. It was my fault. I'm sorry I have to do this to you sister", she said, and tears flowed down her face freely. She looked so pitiful and miserable at that moment.

  Ava couldn't believe her ears. She thought it was a prank. But when she saw the seriousness in Henry's eyes, she believed they were not joking. Her body trembled all over. She found it hard to digest what she had just heard. So Henry has been cheating on her with her sister. She loves Henry so much and will do anything for him. So 2 years of relationship has finally come to an end. After being loyal and faithful to him. All she got in the end was betrayal. She loved him so much, and she remained an obedient girlfriend just to please him. She has never for once asked him for money, so as not to pressure him. She remembered how she used all her savings to buy a birthday gift for him, but Henry did not remember her birthday, let alone congratulating her. Everything dawned on her. Henry had never for once loved her. Tears welled up in her eyes and were threatening to fall. But she wouldn't cry. Those people do not deserve her tears. She will look weak and miserable if she cries. She forced out a sad smile. Just as she was about to talk, Henry beat her to it.

" I am sorry for hurting you, Ava. I found out the person I love is your sister, not you. I am so sorry for that. I hope you understand. And please help me to take good care of Lily and her baby. I will take you as my little sister. You can always come to me whenever you need something. I hope you understand," he said. Staring right into Ava's eyes.

  Ava closed her eyes instantly and fought back the tears that were threatening to fall. She felt like a fool. And felt like breaking Henry's head.

  She suddenly let out a scoff " I should come to you whenever I need something. Hmmm, who do you think you are? Do you think you are special or what? Do you think you have everything just because you are the heir of the Bale family? Thank you for making me realize that I was a fool. I have nothing to say to you, and I will surely give you my blessing. I wish you both the happiness you deserve. A slut and a scum getting married. What a perfect couple" she said with a mocking smile dancing on her lips.

" Hey, watch your tongue, Ava. Do you realize you are talking to your sister like that?" Mr Smith interjected. Anger was written all over his face.

" Don't scold her Dad, it's my fault. I'm so sorry sister." Lily said and cried even more. She suddenly stopped crying and directed her gaze at Ava. Her eyes scanned her from head to toe, and she suddenly gasped.

"Ahh." She pointed her index finger at Ava. "Is that not the dress you wore last night? Did you spend the night out? A friend of mine said she saw you walking out of a hotel this morning, but I thought it was a joke." She said with disbelief written all over her face. She suddenly rushed to Ava and pulled her turtleneck down. The hickeys on her neck could be seen.

"Oh, sister. Don't tell me you are now into hallot business. Do you do this because of money? You can always tell me whenever you need money, you don't need to sleep with old men." Lily said and flashed Ava a mocking smile. On the surface, it looked like she cared for Ava, but deep down, she was mocking her and intentionally rubbing salt on her wound.

Henry's expression turned cold instantly and all the sense of guilt he was feeling earlier disappeared instantly. "I can't believe this. So you are cheating on me. You did not allow me to touch you, yet you have the nerve to sleep with other men? You are disgusting. I can't believe I was feeling guilty a moment ago. You are not like Lilly. She's pure and innocent. She also has a good heart, unlike you. You are just a disgusting Orphan who-"

"Smack" Ava lifted her arm and slapped Henry before he could finish his words. Her body trembled in anger. The sound of the slap echoed through the place and a pin-drop silence followed afterward.

"Ah." Lily gasped in shock. "Why did you hit Henry?"

"How dare you hit me," Henry growled with anger written all over his face. His throat rolled in anger and his eyes were shooting daggers at Ava. "Don't ever try this with me again. I'm only letting you off the hook this time because I just broke up with you." He said through his gritted teeth. He didn't expect Ava to slap him all of a sudden.  The girl has always been gentle and can't even hurt a fly. It would be a lie if he said the slap did not hurt.

"Call me disgusting again, and I will slap you again. How dare you call me that." Ava roared in anger. "I can sleep with whoever I want. It has nothing to do with you. I'm highly disappointed in you. Even if you wanted to cheat on me, you could have dated someone else. But you choose my so-called sister instead. Is that to piss me off ?" She asked. Furrowing her brow. "As from today henceforth, we have nothing to do with each other."
