This was supposed to be a normal first day of school.
But this happened.
I rethink all of my life's decisions as I felt a sense of guilt down my spine.
If I did not act like a madman when it comes to life, I would have been in a simple school, the smartest of them all.
But because of my foolish, idiotic mindset, here I am now.
I turned my thoughts into an idea to escape or cope with this kind of environment.
I gulped. This idea should be right, if this makes me enter the wrong path, I am doomed. My intelligence, when it comes to life decisions, is very low. But I am not saying I am always wrong.
I have come up with an idea, that I think is good enough to cope with this situation.
"I should escape this place," My own eyebrow frowns. But then it returned to a normal state. "By graduating."
It would sound like a silly decision, but it's safer than escaping by climbing the walls of this school.
I wiped my eyes with my hand. I turned and pushed my way through the crowd of students. I need to get out of here before those robots start to kill us,
If they really are robots.
I can hear their mumbles and grunt as I go further. I closed my eyes as I whispered 'sorry' to anyone I bump into. I lowered my head. My feet start to feel heavy, the pounding of my heart slowing down.
I need to go further.
I struggled to raise my feet to walk. The crowd is thick, and the people I am trying to sneak into are pushing me back.
What are they doing?
I gathered half of my strength, clenched my fists. I need to push myself into this so I can get out of this crowd.
Even my posture is slow, I can still hear their screams. Outside the crowd, everything is in chaos. No one knew who'll die next.
What if it was me? You?
Everyone was weeping, begging whoever was doing this.
I can feel the cold air kissing my face as I get nearer and nearer to the entrance. I tripped and stands up. The robot's arms are back, ready to snatch students. I sprinted out of the cafeteria before they automatically shut the doors close. I looked around. A crowd of students builds up in the center of the Morrissette School Square. The cafeteria's entrance faces the school square because most students spend their time outdoors. I turned back to the cafeteria's entrance.
Students punched the door as they cry for help. In their eyes are terror and a daunting feeling touched my emotional organs. Blood splattered on the glass door and their screams got louder. Everyone is dying inside, their bodies twisted and cut in half.
A girl locks her eyes on me. I was the only one that is watching them, a few feet away from the glass door. She begs for help. Tears flow from her eyes as she punches the glass door. She turns away her attention from me by turning her head to the robots on her back. She banged on the door by tackling it and gave up. She stood there in front of the glass door. Her water tears turned into black. Her mouth is drooling black saliva. I can hear her sobs. She faces me and bangs the door with her head.
Blood is in her forehead, black liquid staining her entire face with soot. Her mouth drooled much more black liquid, followed by black tears. Her eyes were dyed black by the black liquid as she sobs louder.
With a finger, she dipped it in her mouth and draw a word using black liquid as the ink.
HELP
She bent her neck as her face shows despair.
At the last minute of her life, she smiled at her, her eyes still filled with despair.
A gigantic robot arm slashed her head. Her head bounces to the floor, her neck exploding and letting out blood mixed with black liquid.
Her face is still smiling, a touch of blood in her mouth. And what's even creepy. She felt an ominous feeling after realizing it was staring at her.
The body exploded along with other headless bodies in her back.
The robot arm strikes the glass door. Trying to aim at me.
It twisted its iron fingers and retreated to the never-ending darkness in the attics.
Everything quietened when no students were in sight inside the cafeteria. Decapitated bodies lay on the blood-stained floor. Lifeless heads were scattered everywhere. Organs and dead soot worms finished the look of a nightmare inside. Some worms are still alive, crawling out of the body of its victim.
It filled her face with both pity and disgust.
It pains her to say it, but she was glad she wasn't trapped there.
She seems to have felt a touch on her shoulder. She turns her head and a silhouette of a man stood behind her. She blinks several times and her eyesight grew clearer.
It was the new leader, James Smith.
He did not spit out a word. Their eyes met as if they were communicating. But she did not understand what he was trying to say and why.
"Jenkins," He finally talked. She experienced a cold feeling that she cannot explain.
"Yes?" She replied. She tries not to blush even at how awkward this is. She lowers her gaze and tries to avert him.
"I need to tell you something." He said.
She moved her eyeballs and pointed them to him. Her gaze was still low. A hint of red blush appeared in her cheeks.
Is he my soulmate?
She felt queasy at that moment.
But here, in this school, romance does not exist.
He smiled. But this kind of smile, looked like he was planning something bad. A smirk of a psychopath. He chuckled. It was a simple one, but as it gets louder, the more disturbing it gets. He embraced her, which made her even much more uncomfortable. James leaned at her shoulders. He whispers;
"Remember this. Not everyone here is a friend, some are enemies ready to take you down. And your friends can turn their backs on you. You know what I mean, Lily."
She trembled in his arms. Hearing his words, she felt suspicion that their own class leader will kill her in a way she won't realize. This will be an enormous obstacle that I going to block her way. She needs to compete with her own classmates in order to survive.
It's not that simple to survive with no help.
She pushed him away. He let her get out of his arms.
With an aggressive expression, she stared into his eyes.
His brown eyes seem to focus on her, a smirk in his face trying to intimidate her. He turns his back and walked to the crowd in the square. There, they cheered him and lets him enter the crowd.
With no exact reason, she can feel their inky eyes staring right through her.
She guarded her chest by covering it with two arms. She frowned, and bit her lip. Her eyes filled with fear as she imagine them coming for her. Twisting their bodies and pointing at her their kitchen knives.
She is all alone.
She panted and calmed herself.
"Everything is gonna be alright." She whispers.
She turns her attention to a small group of students hanging around on a small bench with a square table. She walks to them, strengthening her guard.
Suddenly, a familiar boy turns to her, before she could sit on one of the benches. She shouts;
"It's Jenkins everyone!" His French accent messes up his English.
After that, all of them turned to her and started shouting.
"I thought you died." Jesse shows a sign of relief as she smiles at me.
"This is a miracle, we all survived." William gathers everyone around him. I sat next to the French one that I think the name is Tobiah.
"We can't just sit here and enjoy that we survived that robot attack." Sophia said, making the entire mood gloomy.
"Our luck cannot last forever. It can end anytime." Lily adds more tension to the group.
"Since we are a group, why don't we team up to survive longer?" Theodore suggests, letting in a small light to lighten up the mood.
"As long as no one deceives us." Lily taps the table with her palm, a sign of threat to whoever betrays them.
"We still need to find why is this happening to us students, and how will we fight it." says Darcy. Everyone agrees with her.
"I think, the president knew what is coming." Clement made a slight frown and adds, "A higher officer can take access to a school's secret, and I am sure he is one of those monsters who planned this."
"That's right." Darcy concurred.
Clement turned to William. "You seem close to him, are you-"
"No, Clement, I am not. He wants to use me to get information on what is going on us." William facepalmed. "I did not realize what he was doing before the incident occurred."
"Well, let's wait for the Bell to ring and find clues to fix this situation." Sophia stands up and clasped her hands.
"And find out who is the spy among us." I eyeballed everyone, trying to see if someone had felt a call out.
Everyone cheered and stands up.
We chanted;
"Troubled blood with sleep's unease, Remove the cause of this disease. Sleep eternal, nevermore, And shift the source of illness borne, To this poppet whom none shall mourn."
Awaken the sinful spy who disguised as a saintful angel.
Among these kids a impostor is hiding.
Among us.

I am back!!!! Daily upload of chapters is going to happen! See you!
"I betcha!" A voice interrupted our ritual of luck. Everyone turned their backs on a pair of seniors carrying papers. There were wearing the school's uniform, a piece of wool cloth hanging in their left shoulders up to their knees. We sat and behaved. I looked around without moving my neck. The Tisiphone's lined up straight facing the senior's way. Marching to the senior's direction, they started murmuring words. And then when they reached 1 foot away from the seniors, they stopped. A red-haired gentleman stood forward and scrambled the piece of papers in his hand. He coughed, and spoke; "Today is the first day of school, and we seniors will introduce the rooms dedicated for the three groups in CLASS 1- FURIES." Another senior continued; "Without further ado, let's start the tour around the school." I patted my skirt and stands up. And then everyone followed, walking toward the Tisiphones and lining up. I brushed my hair as I ste
I moved my head as I run. Everyone seems to run away from each other. And some even have knives with them. The seniors only watched us. They didn't even tell us about the monster and this little game of survival. Murdering your friends in order to move on to the next class period.I saw an alive bush next to a dead sequoia tree. I crawled into the bush and hid inside the bush. I can feel an itchy feeling in my arms. I blinked. A branch, which I rubbed my arm into, has ticks crawling from it to my arms. I shook my arms."Argghh!" I looked around to find another safe spot to hide.A group of dead trees stood some feet away from her. She could cope with the itchiness. She runs to the tree and rolls to the lawn. When she reached the tree's roots, she lays her back on the bark of the tree. She scratches her left arm. A tick falls to the ground as she shook her arms and scratches it continuously. She grunts and glances at her classmates.
The seniors led us to our first class period. They said we'll meet our homeroom teacher there. No one talked about what happened on the way. Neither what happened in the last few days. This troubled my mind. I felt anxious just by imagining what will happen next. But this is just the start of my academic journey. The tip of the iceberg. Our first-class period will take place in the Damien building. A building composed of two floors with five classrooms on each floor. But there is something that made it stand out from the first buildings I saw. The color, and the decorations there. It is a yellow-painted building, freshly painted. Trees around it were alive and it even sprouts magnificent flowers. We entered the hallway of the Damien building. The floor is maroon and plants are standing next to the foundations of the buildings. It is very welcoming, and a good environ
Two weeks passed after that day.I remember myself staring at a piece of paper, my head busy trying to think. It was the night before the exam, where the teachers will give us a formative test and an early summative test.Stress and anxiety built up in my mind as I think of a way to escape. I had managed to survive the last discipline exam which happened three days ago. I had noticed the teachers getting serious about punishing us. But none had died among us. something terrible is gonna happen to the exam happening tomorrow.I was a coward. I had many chances on escaping, but fear of regretting it stops my way.I clenched my fist tight while a dipping pen is in my hand. I breathe in and then started to write."Hic malum meum vadit;" I said as I write. I stopped when the pen ran out of ink. I reached for an inkpot near me, the lid has a metal monkey as a design. I bent from my seat just to reach the inkpot. I groaned when so
The nurse left the door slightly open. I leaned at the door and peeked at the gap. I saw the nurse walk away, pushing the wheelbarrow. "Follow her." It says, sitting in a crossed leg position. "Why would I?" I whispered. "You should." It hits my left cheek with its staff. "Just follow me." "Oh, All right," Lily says. I watched the nurse disappear in the shadows. It's impossible to walk around and not bump into something. And also, we only have a limited amount of light. This hallway is one of the other hallways that meet the concourse. Compared to others, this hallway is the least favorable when it comes to nightwalkers. Days ago, I met a girl who is a nightwalker, talked about how narrow this hallway was. I can't relate to her since I have never seen myself wandering around while asleep. But here I am, wandering with a monkey on my left shoulder. I have to think quickly. In one of my lessons in Homeroom Guidance when I was in sixth grade, we were advised to think wisel
I stared at the notes I wrote last night. I can't understand anything about it. It's a bad idea to write notes in Latin. I facepalmed as the notes drop on the floor. Reviewing was a bad thing. I did not even stock any knowledge, what should I do!? Incredibly stressful. What's even worse? This school is not ordinary, this is hell. It was worse than I imagined when I was in elementary. Or, high school is really like this. I removed my palms from my face and spread out my skirt. I stretched out the wrinkles in my black uniform. It has bold red highlights, and the tie was half black and half checkered. At the end of my sleeves were puffs with buttons. I brushed my black hair. I can't believe it won't be ironed straight. I will look messy in the exams. Well, whatever. They don't have rules about looking neat anyway. The uniforms are as beautiful as what you expect from a prestigious school. I stand up from a stall and walk
Later that day. It’s four o’clock in the afternoon. It’s time. Earlier in the morning, when we finally got out of the room, James invited the entire class to study. He reasoned it was a preparation for the next test. But that was not the reason. It was something else.Footsteps echoed through the walls and murmurs are filling the air with disturbing noises. I knew it was afternoon, but the fact that no light can be seen reflecting on the windows is suspicious. It is maybe caused by the weather or some phenomenon. Whatever it is, I must not risk my life trying to know.I walked over a red carpet leading to the main hall.I stopped near a foundation and looked around. Inside the classroom of the scholars, Tobiah and Lily sat facing each other discussing something. It is the day after the group study. The sun slowly shifts as the two watches the light disappear and dusk was here."I guess so," Tobiah explained. "You are that kind of person that does not like to lurk around this school."I stared at his face. He was right, I don't like to explore since I knew that danger can be everywhere. Just earlier, I asked if I should accept Theodore's consent, to help him explore the forest to find that girl, the girl that appeared with the doll I have now."He needs me," I sighed. "But my other side does not think that brightly."Tobiah goes closer to me, and then gave me a look of concern. He smiled slightly, "You can kill anytime, can you?"I sighed once more. I lowered my gaze."No, I only did that one time because I want to survive, that's it."Tobiah reaches for something
Sophie walked backwards. Jesse heard her footsteps."Where are you going?" She asks.James left them standing there in the middle of the dark. They've been there for minutes, and Sophie's arm numbs as the wind grew colder."How?-" Jesse felt the unusual cold in her arm. She can feel on her feet that this place is underground. Pebbles and twigs were under her shoe. And there is no light around here, so there is no hole nearby."Sophie!" she screams, holding her arm with another arm. Before Sophie could reply, she tripped. A loud thwack on the ground startled Jesse and made her turn around. Sophie groans and pats her butt. She tells Jesse, "We should get going." Sophie turns her head trying to determine where she is. "Where are you?" "At your back," Jesse replies then suddenly grabs her arm. “Here,” Jesse pulls her hand.Sophie rubs her butt and looks around the path. In front of her is great darkness, no light can be seen. She then looks up.“There must be a tree somewhere above us.
Jesse, James, and Sophie were sitting on the floor. "Isn't that painting, a bit suspicious?" Theodore says as he points toward a painting on the other side of the room. "This is too easy." Clement walks to the painting, taps the edges of it, and then takes it off the wall. A hole stood there. The three squinted their eyes. "What's that supposed to be?" Asks Theo, turning to Lily. "I don't know. " She replies, glancing at him. "AHA!" Clement shouted suddenly. He dropped the painting to the ground and went to the door. He pulled a key looking piece of metal from the door's hinges."Is there a keyhole inside the hole?" Lily walks closely. Theodore followed. Clement glances and nods. He stabbed the metal into the hole, made a twisting motion with his hands and pulled the metal out. Their mouths had widen as the "wall" flips open. A huge passageway connects to the room, with a single torch hanging on the turning point of the passage. Jesse placed her hand on the ground when suddenl
She snitched a glance at the figure. It stood still there; the wind making its hair strands fly. She immediately closed her eyes and focused on the path.Seniors…. She thought they were the headmaster’s soldiers…. But they weren’t.What makes this senior warn her? Is it she knew everything or served as an obstacle? If that is so, her disguise won’t work.I raised my feet even higher to increase my pace. Pebbles flew as I run over them. My gaze darkened, my lip locked. Something is going to happen, and it will come soon.I slowed when I saw the group. My run turned into a walk, my arms swinging at my side. Everyone was quiet, walking with spaces against each other. The wind blows at the group isolated with a line of trees. The skies were misty, and you can feel a slight shiver down your spine. My feet stopped when I raised my head. Clouds break up and a ray of sunlight came in.I turned my attention to the grou
Hours earlier Meanwhile, in an unknown location, “Shut your mouth, Anthony,” Dolores split a metal stick into two as her eyes locked at Anthony. Anthony mumbles words while they covered his mouth with an oblong mask that only covers his lips. It has rubber straps that elongated from the mask to his head and under his ears. He still cannot accept that Dolores did this to him. He trusted her. His mouth ran dry as his sweat stopped sliding from his forehead. He can feel his flesh shiver as Dolores touched a button with a red gleaming colour. His eyes had run white when the air got intense, like there was a tornado circling around him. It’s cold. His staff uniform was turned apart, and there was a large hole near his private part. His little one would affect the heat running inside his body. He’ll die with his private frozen. It was a bad idea to trust that man. He firmly closed his eyes as he recalls the time he met the man, the m
Theodore looks at him because of confusion. He can't say anything. Tobiah was out of his mind. The only thing I heard soon after, Was Jesse screaming out of her lungs while trying to get him back to the version we thought will never disappear. Everyone was fighting him, while he shut his mouth looking down while clenching his fists. I did not react to any he said. I just stood still there, next to the president, who is losing their patience with everyone. But I wondered, where was that kid, named Jacob? No one in here announced that he lost. Or maybe he was kicked out. Kicked out. I placed a hand at my face and started rubbing. It’s too early to quarrel for this kind of day. I sighed tiredly. First, I was never fond of arguments. Neither I could win nor lose any of them. Just imagine how well this starts with a simple warning into a war. I was always quiet, uncurious and calm. I could feel in my veins how irritated I was.
A crow squawked while soaring in the sky. Clouds covered the about to rise moon on a chilly evening. The wind swooshed and the crow had fled to a soul monster’s shoulder. Along with him, are the ghosts of the past students in this school. They are enjoying the game they were playing, hide and seek. The crow bent his head to see a female sophomore ghost pull a trapped ghost kid out of a small hole that goes inside the monster. The girl noticed the crow, and then crawled to it. Her eyes were completely black, shaped like a circle. The crow flinched when it noticed a fat black worm visible inside her. It flew into her stomach just before she could reach it. The crow pecked at her stomach. No matter how hard it peck, it just goes through her. The worm cannot be reached with its short beak. The crow squawked angrily as it flies away from the soul monster. Jesse pressed the binoculars at her eyes as she saw a crow soar at the scene she was looking at. Cleme
It was a Tuesday morning, and Lily is pretty late for her Homeroom Class. She feared that Mr Byrne might be raging right now, like what he reacted to the group of Megaera, to which Tommy belonged. Until now, the third week of their stay, they were not yet found.Theodore guessed they died, like what he always says when someone suddenly disappears. No one knew if his guess was right neither wrong. Because no one wanted to find out.She was running a few steps to the room, raising the speed of her pace. She clung the bag with her, containing a piece of paper and the doll. She spent the night making sketches for the so-called “plan” that they hope will work. She was about to take a step inside when her instincts paused her. She can hear Mr Byrne screaming. She peeked on the glass window shaped like a small circle in the centre of the door. Mr Byrne has his mouth wide open while his hands are preparing to turn over the desk before him. The
