I looked at my fingers; Something wet them with my blood. But it seems like I am okay, internally. I stand up and a knife is in my chest. I grabbed it quickly, threw it away, and stared back at the drawer. An eye was creeping there, glaring at me.

Shush, she can hear you.

I slowly remove my fingers from my lips and try to stand up. I looked under me. Marks of blood stained the floor. I reached for my bed and collapsed in it. Everything got dark until I closed my heavy eyes.

           ***

Morning came, and I found myself in an unusual place.

I can smell the scent of cooking beef and rotten flesh. I rubbed my eyes and saw myself sitting on a bench, along with a crowd of so-called juniors. I was sleeping with my head on a cafeteria table at the time of breakfast hour.

"You awake, Miss Jenkins?" said some voice that came from behind my back.

I nod.

Around me were juniors enjoying their meal, chattering and clinking their water glasses. At my back was a nurse, with blood on her skirt.

"You had sleep yesterday without knowing you were on your period." She explains. "Blood was everywhere in your room, so we tried to clean up and make you clean for tomorrow. Which is today."

I gulped. "What were you doing in my room?"

She maintained her calmness even my words do not show I was thanking her at all.

"Well, you see Miss." She carefully thinks out the words to reply. "Every night, we check rooms to see if the students are enjoying their sleep."

I turned my head away from her. I waited until I heard her footsteps walking away. A junior gave me a plate, a sandwich overfilled with meat. I thanked him and he asked,

"What's your full name, Miss Jenkins?" I knew they were eavesdropping on my conversation with the school nurse. I also noticed his British accent.

"Lily, Lily Jenkins," I replied.

He smiled. "My name is Theodore Davis." He says as he points another student. "And that is my best friend, William Relish."

"Wow, you only introduced yourself and your best friend." She pouted. Everyone laughed as she munch.

"What's wrong with that, Jesse?" Theodore teased. Everyone chuckled as Jesse blushes awkwardly.

"Guys, guys." Says another girl. She smirked as she turned to me. "Lily won't feel homely if we don't introduce ourselves."

"You have a point!" Says a geeky one, his accent messing up his words.

"Why don't you start, four eyes?" Says the girl again.

"Hey, we're all nerds here. Come on." The geeky one says.

"At least I don't have glasses." She replied. She smirked as the geeky one feels offended.

"All right, I'll start." He adjusts his glasses as he turns to me. "My name is Tobiah, Tobiah Dubois."

"French?" I asked.

"Yeh." He replied. "Why?"

"Nothing," I said.

"Okay, my turn." Says the bully like one. "The names Sophia Reagan."

"And my name is Darcy Fernsby!" Says Darcy, as she jumps into the conversation.

"My name is Clement Young." I turned to the guy next to me, whose name is Clement. His amber eyes locked on me.

"Clement is on his game again!" yells Jesse.

"You playboy," Protests Darcy.

I stared at everyone as I try to know why are they acting like that. I gave a face of confusion at Clement.

"Girls, stop it." Says William as he facepalms.

"William, we all know he is a playboy since we started eating breakfast!" She turns to me. "My name is Ella Edevanne," she comes closer to me and whispers, "Get away from him."

We shook hands as William gave everyone a stressed gaze.

"Come on, stop it." William protests as he gestures the girls to sit down.

"Leader, I mean President, is coming here," William says. He stands up and gestures to everyone to sit quietly.

"Geez." Sophia munches the sandwich as she glares at him in disgust.

I picked up my sandwich and eats it.

William walks away in the entrance's direction.

"He's gone now." Sophia places his sandwich on the plate.

"Guys, I have to tell something," I say. I was a little hesitant, but I had to.

"What is it, Lily?" Jesse looks at me like she knew what is am about to say.

"Yesterday, I saw a dead girl in my cabinet."

Everyone burst out in laughter as they heard me spit out those words. They were dying in laughter. Sophia grins and says to me, "That's a classic joke you have there, Miss Jenkins."

"It's not a joke," I frowned at them and some of them realize I was not joking.

"Lily, you're not joking?" Jesse stares at me with a surprised face.

"Yes," I replied.

Their mouths dropped open as they heard me confirm it was true.

"Wait." Sophia gave me a face of suspicion as she continues. "Did you kill someone?"

"No."

William is back before Sophia could rain me more suspicions.

"Leaders here. Watching." He warns.

Everyone silenced.

In his back was the leader, James Smith. He was a tall jock looking scholar. You would not even think he is a genius kid.

"So this is your group, William. The children of Alecto." James says.

The scholar class was splitter into three groups, carrying a logo and presenting the children of the three demon furies. My group, which carries the name of Alecto, is an eight-man group and also one of the three groups. Another group that contains the leader of the class, James, carries the name of Tisiphone. The last one, which comprises the same number as ours, is the Megaera.

"Yes, dear president," William replies.

The bell rings and everyone lined up to get out of the cafeteria to class. People ran to the direction of the entrance.I bumped into Sophia before I could catch up with the others.

She whispered to me while we were pushing ourselves in a crowd.

"Are you a psychopath?"

"No, I'm not," I replied.

The crowd dragged away her from me. I forced myself to turn around to see if every student on this campus was here. Seniors and sophomores mixed with the juniors as they rush.

Another bell ringed, and everyone panicked.

"What's going on?!" I yelled after I saw a senior come beside me.

"We're gonna die." He simply replied.

"What do you mean?!" I asked.

And what happens next made me realize what she meant.

Students that are away from the crowd started exploding. Gunshots filled the air with smoke and the panic even got wilder. Girls and boys started screaming, telling the people away from the crowd to come to the crowd.

A girl crawls on the floor, trying to reach her best friend, which is in the crowd. A camera turns green from far away, and by that, the girl exploded.

Blood splattered on their faces and the screams grew louder and louder.

Meanwhile, I, who's in the middle of the crowd, was confused by how they act. It's like what happened in the exam, but students seem to be quiet, and no one have the inky eyes. The hands of robots carried the halves of their bodies to the ceiling that looked like it has no ends.

Silence happened.

The wind blows, and the smell of flesh, gunshots, and blood entered our noses.  Soon after that, everyone started coughing and vomiting.

Me myself, I can smell the scent of flesh that had left in the air for weeks.

An eyeball falls into my head. I stared at it on the floor, and the pupils moves. It locked and stared into my eyes; I screamed hard as more eyeballs fell from the dark ceiling. Everyone panicked once again.

Blood rained as I hear the squishes of flesh being squeezed.

...

Blake smirked as he moves the controllers.

"Oh, what a game this is." He whispers to himself,.

On the screen, faces of the students in the campus appeared. Their sufferings power him up, make his life fun.

"Why are you doing this to us? We serve you!" protested by some girl standing in the door of his office. On her face was anger and revulsion.

Blake turned to her. He picks up a pen and plays with it.

"You see, Mildred." He says. "The students on this campus are part of the game, and you and the other seniors are one of them.

"But we-"

Blake interrupts Mildred.

"You are part of the game!" He screams wildly.

He shots the pen at her forehead, and she collapses on the floor.

He turns with a bizarre gesture and then turns to the controllers.

"Let it rain Blood."

This was supposed to be a normal first day of school. But this happened. I rethink all of my life's decisions as I felt a sense of guilt down my spine. If I did not act like a madman when it comes to life, I would have been in a simple school, the smartest of them all. But because of my foolish, idiotic mindset, here I am now. I turned my thoughts into an idea to escape or cope with this kind of environment. I gulped. This idea should be right, if this makes me enter the wrong path, I am doomed. My intelligence, when it comes to life decisions, is very low. But I am not saying I am always wrong. I have come up with an idea, that I think is good enough to cope with this situation. "I should escape this place," My own eyebrow frowns. But then it returned to a normal state. "By graduating." It would sound like a silly decision, but it's safer than escaping by climbing the walls of this school. I

"I betcha!" A voice interrupted our ritual of luck. Everyone turned their backs on a pair of seniors carrying papers. There were wearing the school's uniform, a piece of wool cloth hanging in their left shoulders up to their knees. We sat and behaved. I looked around without moving my neck. The Tisiphone's lined up straight facing the senior's way. Marching to the senior's direction, they started murmuring words. And then when they reached 1 foot away from the seniors, they stopped. A red-haired gentleman stood forward and scrambled the piece of papers in his hand. He coughed, and spoke; "Today is the first day of school, and we seniors will introduce the rooms dedicated for the three groups in CLASS 1- FURIES." Another senior continued; "Without further ado, let's start the tour around the school." I patted my skirt and stands up. And then everyone followed, walking toward the Tisiphones and lining up. I moved my head as I run. Everyone seems to run away from each other. And some even have knives with them. The seniors only watched us. They didn't even tell us about the monster and this little game of survival. Murdering your friends in order to move on to the next class period.I saw an alive bush next to a dead sequoia tree. I crawled into the bush and hid inside the bush. I can feel an itchy feeling in my arms. I blinked. A branch, which I rubbed my arm into, has ticks crawling from it to my arms. I shook my arms."Argghh!" I looked around to find another safe spot to hide.A group of dead trees stood some feet away from her. She could cope with the itchiness. She runs to the tree and rolls to the lawn. When she reached the tree's roots, she lays her back on the bark of the tree. She scratches her left arm. A tick falls to the ground as she shook her arms and scratches it continuously. She grunts and glances at her classmates.

The seniors led us to our first class period. They said we'll meet our homeroom teacher there. No one talked about what happened on the way. Neither what happened in the last few days. This troubled my mind. I felt anxious just by imagining what will happen next. But this is just the start of my academic journey. The tip of the iceberg. Our first-class period will take place in the Damien building. A building composed of two floors with five classrooms on each floor. But there is something that made it stand out from the first buildings I saw. The color, and the decorations there. It is a yellow-painted building, freshly painted. Trees around it were alive and it even sprouts magnificent flowers. We entered the hallway of the Damien building. The floor is maroon and plants are standing next to the foundations of the buildings. It is very welcoming, and a good environ

I did not even stock any knowledge, what should I do!? Incredibly stressful. What's even worse? This school is not ordinary, this is hell. It was worse than I imagined when I was in elementary. Or, high school is really like this. I removed my palms from my face and spread out my skirt. I stretched out the wrinkles in my black uniform. It has bold red highlights, and the tie was half black and half checkered. At the end of my sleeves were puffs with buttons. I brushed my black hair. I can't believe it won't be ironed straight. I will look messy in the exams. Well, whatever. They don't have rules about looking neat anyway. The uniforms are as beautiful as what you expect from a prestigious school.
