Chapter 225 Covering Wings

Gab’s POV

The alcohol made me feel a bit relaxed. I think I have been under constant pressure from everything that seemed to be happening all of a sudden. I decided to let Skye do whatever would please her, as she seemed to be grieving. The grief she had seemed so deep. I do not dare to fathom, so I supported her, all the way.

She fell asleep after a while of crying.

‘She must have been so emotionally stressed all this while,’ I assumed.

I did not insist on my suggestion to let Skye lie down on the sofa chair on her own. I believe Marco was after the comfort of knowing Skye did not despise him in any way ever since Skye became a bit aloof and distant towards him— which turned out to be her fear of Marco being distant to her and hating her for whatever happened in the past.

“I swear I do not believe any of those bastards' words,” Marco said as we continued to drink while he held Skye in his arms, asleep.

I believed him. And I made sure I made my thoughts known to Marco.
