19. Fading Away

That night, after spending the whole day in the lake, Luna Viviana had mellowed down. She even helped Grandpa Eliezer prepare dinner in the kitchen.

It's already 7:00 in the evening and Alpha Callum hasn't returned yet. The place was outside the coverage area, there was no signal, she couldn't call or send a text message to him. Luna Viviana was furious again.

Grandpa Eliezer was looking at the door, well aware that the woman sitting beside him on the sofa was on the verge of exploding in anger. Sometimes he wanted to tell her to enroll in an anger management program to deal with her temper.

"Let's eat, Grandpa. I'm tired of waiting for my husband. Obviously, he is busy somewhere..." she grumpily said.

"OK." Grandpa Eliezer replied.

They went to the kitchen and ate their meals in silence. After helping Grandpa Eliezer with washing the dishes and tidying the kitchen, Luna Viviana retreated to her room.

She was pacing back and forth on the floor, increasingly annoyed that her husband hadn't returned yet. Did he forget about her?

Coming to the farm was supposed to be their romantic getaway, especially since Grandpa Eliezer had created a new concoction to cure her infertility problem. She had high hopes for the medicine. In fact, she had already taken a dose early in the morning before she had eaten her breakfast.

He's not responding to her questions, and it's making her feel sad and at the same time enraged. She bit her lower lip in frustration.

"Do we have a problem? Why are you ignoring me? Have I done something wrong that angers you? Please answer me," she begged miserably, her tone filled with anxiety and despair.

"I'm not in the mood for a conversation with you. I'm dozing now. Go to sleep. Goodnight," he responded in a sleepy tone.

He dismissed her coldly. It's clear that he's not in the mood to have a conversation with her. If she persists in disturbing his sleep, he will get mad, leave the room and sleep somewhere. She doesn't want him abandoning her again tonight.

So she decided to stop pestering him, kept her mouth shut and bottled it up inside.

Thick silence engulfed the room as two hearts could never be the same again.

Hours went by. The night was getting late.

Luna Viviana had difficulty sleeping because her mind was chaotic. She feared that one day, her husband would find another woman who was capable of giving him offspring, and he would eventually kick her out of the pack.

No, she can't accept that if that happens. Over her dead body!

The thoughts terrified her and at the same time made her furious.

If someday her greatest fear materializes, she will not go down without a fight.

She will fight to death and defend her throne as Alpha Callum's wife and Luna.

She got out of bed, wore her pajamas, then returned to bed to retire for the night. She stopped herself from crying, suppressing her insecurities and fear inside.

She eventually fell asleep at 1:00 in the morning and when she woke up the next day, her husband was no longer in the room with her.

She woke up alone in bed despite being intimate with her husband last night. Tears formed in her eyes. Her heart was filled with sadness as she finally reached the conclusion that her husband was no longer the same guy she had met before.
