Alpha Callum was still wide awake despite it being already past midnight. Clarice was in a deep sleep beside him, snoring softly.
Despite the bliss he felt after Clarice pleasured him, he couldn't sleep. He was supposed to avoid getting bewitched by Clarice's charm. But since they are fated mates, he couldn't ignore the irresistible pull they feel for each other.
It is indeed a big mistake to stay in the same room with her. Their mate bond is very strong, and it consumes them both. And now they have made the biggest mistake of their lives, getting reconnected again. It will be very hard to avoid each other from now on.
He stared at the ceiling, wondering how to solve this problem?
If he confessed to his wife that he had reconnected with his fated mate lately, and they had a son together, would Viviana accept Clarice?
He was not sure about that.
Given his wife's feisty attitude, he was afraid Viviana would not be as understanding as Clarice.
He feels guilty right now. It was the first time he cheated on his wife with his fated mate. As much as he wanted to inform his wife about Clarice and his son, it was not yet the right time for confession.
With a heavy sigh, he slowly got up from bed. He turned off the light, returned to bed and closed his eyes, attempting to sleep even for just a few hours.
He slowly drifted into dreamland and woke up at 5:30 a.m. He planted a kiss on Clarice's head and left the bed. He stood beside the bed, staring lovingly at her face for a few minutes. Done looking at her, he teleported back to the farmhouse.
He appeared in the living room of the farmhouse and settled on the sofa, not bothering to join his wife in their room upstairs. He heard a sound coming from the kitchen. He went to check who was awake early in the morning. He found his grandfather in the kitchen, making coffee. He joined him at the table.
Grandpa Eliezer looked at him with a raised brow. "Why did you wake up early?"
Alpha Callum eased into the chair, breathing deeply. "My wife and I had a quarrel last night. I slept somewhere..." he explained, avoiding his inquiring gaze.
Grandpa Eliezer made another cup of coffee and placed it in front of him. "Here, have some coffee," he said. "So where did you sleep last night?"
He kept his mouth shut. He couldn't tell him that he had spent a night with Clarice in the rental house. They were intimate and it felt so right.
Grandpa Eliezer sank into the chair, and sipped his coffee. "Fine, no need to answer me about where you slept last night. Why don't you join your wife in the bedroom upstairs and make up with her?" he suggested.
He shook his head. "No. I'm sure when she wakes up today, she will continue nagging me, so I will just go home and perform my Alpha duties. I'll just return in the evening after she mellows down," he said. "I can't stomach her nagging me so early in the morning. It gives me a headache," he added with a grimace.
Grandpa Eliezer nodded his head. "OK. I'll tell her you will return tonight."
"Thank you, Pops." Alpha Callum sipped his coffee, wearing a brooding expression on his face.
Grandpa Eliezer studied Callum's face the whole time.
After Alpha Callum finished sipping his coffee, he stood up. "Thank you for the coffee, Pops. I'm leaving now. See you tonight."
Grandpa Eliezer nodded his head. "OK. See you tonight, son."
Alpha Callum returned to the living room, and from there he teleported back to his mansion.
Grandpa Eliezer was left alone at the table, sipping his coffee, wondering where Callum had slept last night. He suspected that he had visited Clarice in the rented house and spent the night there.
He shook his head.
Storms are indeed brewing in the distance.
After he finished sipping his coffee, he left the kitchen and went outside to water the vegetable garden that he and Lorey started cultivating a few weeks ago.
Three hours later.
Luna Viviana woke up alone in bed. Her face darkened, annoyed that her husband didn't sleep with her in the room last night. Another day had just begun, and her husband had already made her angry.
Damn him!
Where did he sleep last night?
Nostrils flaring, she got out of bed, entered the bathroom and performed her morning routine. Afterward, she left the room and went downstairs to find the old man. She will interrogate him today. Maybe he knew something about her husband that she didn't know.
She found the old man watering the rows of vegetable garden located a few meters away from the house. "Grandpa, good morning," she greeted him cheerily.
"Good morning," Grandpa Eliezer replied with a smile.
"Um, where is Alpha Callum? Did he return here this morning? We quarreled last night, and he left me alone," she explained morosely.
"Yes. He came here early in the morning and had coffee with me. Then he wants me to inform you that he will go back to the mansion to take care of important matters that need his attention. Then he will return here in the evening to be with you," Grandpa Eliezer replied.
"OK." Luna Viviana bit her lip furiously. She had to ask him now. "Um, did my husband bring a woman here? Did he mention someone's name lately? Like a woman's name?" she asked, fishing for information.
Grandpa Eliezer shook his head. "He didn't mention another woman's name every time we had a conversation. Why? Are you suspecting him of having an affair behind your back?" he asked, feeling guilty.
Luna Viviana shrugged. "I don't know. Lately, he seems preoccupied with something. I noticed some changes in him that I can't describe in words. That is why I'm asking you if he brought a woman here? Or did he accidentally mention a woman's name to you? I'm afraid he was seeing another woman behind my back," she declared in a wretched tone.
Grandpa Eliezer quickly avoided her observant gaze, kneeling on the ground, pretending to remove weeds from the crops. "Ask your husband tonight after his return. I can't say anything to you because I don't know anything. I'm sorry, dear."
"No need to apologize, Grandpa," Luna Viviana said, heading back to the house.
"I already prepared your breakfast in the kitchen," Grandpa Eliezer said aloud.
"Thanks," Luna Viviana replied and went to the kitchen to eat breakfast.
While sipping her coffee and munching the bread filled with ham sandwich spread, she was asking herself about what to do to appease her anger?
Ah, she will just go swimming in the lake to cool down her bad mood.
Half an hour later, she left the house.
"Where are you going, dear?" Grandpa Eliezer inquired.
"I'm going swimming in the lake," she replied.
"Be careful. Avoid swimming in the deepest part of the lake, you might encounter an accident," Grandpa Eliezer reminded her.
"If I get drowned in the lake, please tell my husband it's his fault for abandoning me," she replied in a wretched tone. She turned around and walked briskly on the path leading to the lake.
Shaking his head, Grandpa Eliezer watched the distraught-looking woman fade away from his vision. "Life is indeed full of surprises," he murmured to himself as he continued removing weeds from the roots of the plants.
That night, after spending the whole day in the lake, Luna Viviana had mellowed down. She even helped Grandpa Eliezer prepare dinner in the kitchen. It's already 7:00 in the evening and Alpha Callum hasn't returned yet. The place was outside the coverage area, there was no signal, she couldn't call or send a text message to him. Luna Viviana was furious again.Grandpa Eliezer was looking at the door, well aware that the woman sitting beside him on the sofa was on the verge of exploding in anger. Sometimes he wanted to tell her to enroll in an anger management program to deal with her temper."Let's eat, Grandpa. I'm tired of waiting for my husband. Obviously, he is busy somewhere..." she grumpily said."OK." Grandpa Eliezer replied. They went to the kitchen and ate their meals in silence. After helping Grandpa Eliezer with washing the dishes and tidying the kitchen, Luna Viviana retreated to her room. She was pacing back and forth on the floor, increasingly annoyed that her husband ha
The reason why she wanted to spend one week's alone time alone with her husband was to have a sweet and romantic moment with him on the farm. She wanted to fill the whole week with their laughter and romantic escapades, but the opposite happened. Her husband is slowly distancing himself from her. There must be a big reason why he's changing before her very eyes. She's eager to find out why. After mulling over her depressing situation, Luna Viviana went to the bathroom to start her day.As usual, she ate breakfast alone at the dining table while Grandpa Eliezer was out there tending to his plants and animals. After she finished eating her meal, she washed the dirty dishes, tidied the kitchen and finally left the house, heading to the place where the old man was busy spending his time. She found him feeding the chickens inside the poultry shade. "Good morning, Grandpa!" she said cheerfully."Morning." Grandpa Eliezer smiled. "Have you had breakfast already?""Yup," she responded with a
The door opened, and Grandpa Eliezer stepped outside. "Son, you're finally back," he commented casually."Yup. Where are you going, Pops?" he asked."Go to the lake to check on your wife. She's been there since the morning. She was upset because when she woke up in the morning you were already gone," Grandpa Eliezer explained. "You seemed to have forgotten that you had a wife waiting for you here," he said wryly.Alpha Callum sighed, scratching his head, feeling guilty. "I'll go there to check on her," he replied."Go ahead then. I have to remind you that she was pissed, so avoid worsening the situation with her," Grandpa Eliezer warned him."Got it, Pops. I'm going there now," Alpha Callum replied and turned around, walking on the path leading to the lake. After walking for a few minutes, he finally arrived at the lake and saw his wife sitting on the picnic blanket, staring blankly at the majestic mountains looming in the distance. "Sorry I'm late," he apologized as he approached her
Seven days later. On Sunday morning, Alpha Callum and Luna Viviana can be seen loading their bags into the vehicle. The couple bid farewell to Grandpa Eliezer."Grandpa, thank you for taking good care of me. And thank you so much for fertility medicine. I can already feel its good effect on my body," Luna Viviana said gratefully."Don't mention it," Grandpa Eliezer replied, smiling. "I hope you had a good time on your one-week vacation here at the farm, dear," he said sincerely.Luna Viviana smiled brightly and said, "I did! My husband has been great to me the whole week. I hope he will stay that way for me forever. Thank you for everything, Grandpa.""Alright, Pops, we're going now," Alpha Callum said, then slid into the driver's seat, starting the engine of the vehicle."Drive safely, son. Take care, guys," Grandpa Eliezer said, waving his hand.Luan Viviana waved goodbye to Grandpa Eliezer as their vehicle was moving away from the farm house.A few moments later, Grandpa Eliezer co
A month later. One rainy evening. Clarice had just finished donning her pajamas. She sat on the bed, preparing to sleep for the night, when Alpha Callum materialized inside her room. She smiled brightly. "Babe, you came. I thought you wouldn't come today," she said.Alpha Callum has been busy with Alpha duties so he wasn't able to visit Clarice for the last five days and his wife is making sure he can't leave the room.He was only able to leave the house tonight because his wife was attending a bachelorette party for her friend. She will sleep at her friend's house. It was an all-girls' party, so he was not invited."I will spend the whole night with you today," he said huskily."Why did your jealous, obsessed wife allow you to leave tonight?" she asked curiously."She attended a bachelorette party, and she will sleep at her friend's house tonight," he explained."That's good," Clarice giggled. "Have you had dinner already?""Yes, awhile ago in the house," he answered."OK," she said
Clarice fell silent, pondering his question."What's wrong?" he asked worriedly.Clarice sighed. She was thinking about how her relationship with Callum would end; tragedy or everlasting happiness?"What's the matter, babe?" he asked, searching deeply into her eyes."Um, did you already make up your mind to cheat on your wife? Once we start having sex right now, things will never be the same again. We will keep doing this behind your wife's back and sooner or later, she will know," she said, taking a deep breath. "Now the question is, what is really your plan for us and our son?" she asked, wanting to hear his plan for their relationship. He breathed deeply. "I don't know. I have no definite plan yet."Clarice's hopes sank. Her heart was filled with sadness. "You can't leave your wife? Divorce her for me and your son. Is that hard for you to do?" she asked, bracing for his answer. He fell silent for a moment. "I would like to do it, but...but..."Clarice's forehead furrowed. "But what
The following day, Clarice woke up at 5:30. Everyone in the house was still sleeping, including Callum, snoring softly beside her on the bed.She looked at his face adoringly. Her heart was bursting with love for him. Last night, they didn't make love because she turned emotional and destroyed the mood between them. She felt guilty that she had failed to give him the pleasure he craved. At the beginning of their reconciliation, she was trying to be patient and understanding of being the other woman, but it didn't last long. She can't pretend no more. She got impatient. She needs to know where she stands in their relationship. She bore him a son, and she is his fated mate. Therefore, she has more value compared to his wife. Luna Viviana must give way to her, not the other way around. Unfortunately, Luna Viviana is not an understanding woman. She will kill anyone who steals her husband. As the days go by, she is getting paranoid. Despite what her former best friend did to her, stealing
They finally arrived at the Mulberry Mall at 2:30 p.m. George parked the tinted window vehicle inside the spacious parking lot of the mall.Grandpa Eliezer smiled brightly. "Hello city, hello mall! I'm back after a long time not seeing you. I miss you so much," he joked. They laughed at the comical way Grandpa uttered his greetings to the city and the mall. They are now preparing to leave the vehicle."I'm going to stay here in the car," George said."No way! You come with us. Let's go together, exploring the mall together," Clarice insisted."Yup, you should come with us!" Grandpa agreed."Please come with us, George. The more, the merrier," Lorey chimed in.George scratched his head shyly. "Okay, I'll carry the bags," he said, grinning."Alright, let's go!" Clarice said in a voice brimming with excitement. They walked to the entrance of the mall and began their exploration of the mall. They started on the first floor, quickly piling up their shopping carts with groceries and other h
She was transported back in time when she was alone sitting on the sun lounger, enjoying the lovely night, waiting for her husband to arrive with their coffee. Then came the stranger, intentionally dropping his wallet on the floor and her nightmare began...Clarice felt her heart beat frantically when she realized that the stranger was no other than Kaspar. He took her off guard, froze her and lifted her body, throwing her into the water without mercy. When she hit the water she thought she would die. She can't do anything to help herself. She screamed, trying to ask for help, but no sound came out of her mouth. She felt her body falling deeper into the water, but to her surprise she resurfaced in the water again and, out of the corner of her eyes, she saw the cruise ship sailing away without her.Nobody saw her when she fell into the water. No one could help her, even her husband.Horrified by her hopeless situation, she will die alone in the freezing water. Her dead body will be eat
A thousand miles away on a secluded island far from the city and towns, Clarice was wide awake, sitting on her bed in total darkness. She trembled in fear when the door opened. The light coming from outside flooded the dark room. There she is...Demetria, the bloodthirsty vampire, enters the room to feed on her blood again.Clarice trembled in fear. This vampire will feed on her blood again and again, leaving her fearing for her life. She fears that one day she will die and never be able to escape this room alive because this vampire will drain her body dry.Although Demetria saved her from drowning in the dark ocean, she was also feeding on her blood thrice a week.Demetria snapped her hand and light flooded the room. "How are you today, dear?" she asked, coming closer."Please let me go home. My husband and my son are worried about me. They think I have died. Please set me free," Clarice begged desperately, tears flooding her eyes."Dear, I just want to let you know that your husban
Two months later...The distraught Alpha Callum arrives at his Grandpa's farm, broken hearted."Gramps, I don't know if I still continue searching for Clarice in the ocean. We still can't find her no matter how hard we try," he said miserably."I know, son, it's very tough on your part. I wish I could help you. I'm also sad and devastated by Clarice's disappearance. You have already run a missing person ad in every major newspaper in the whole country but no one has found Clarice's body yet. The worst thing I can think of is the reason why we can't find her body is because some sharks found her first and we both know what it means." Grandpa Eliezer said sadly, patting his grandson's shoulder to comfort him.Alpha Callum wept quietly. "I don't know if she's already dead or alive. If she drowns, I just want to find her body and give her a proper burial. Is that so much to ask?" he asked dejectedly.Grandpa Eliezer sighed heavily. Watching the misery in his grandson's eyes filled his hea
Kaspar finished his one-week-long holiday on the cruise ship, making sure that Clarice is already buried in the deep ocean with no chance of coming back to the land of the living. He watched in satisfaction as Alpha Callum desperately searched every room and cabin to find his beloved wife. But he failed to find her.Kaspar was lucky that heaven favored him because the CCTV camera in the couple's favorite spot malfunctioned on the same day he succeeded in completing his evil plan.Since no evidence can point to him as the culprit of Clarice's disappearance, he enjoyed his remaining days on the cruise ship, unbothered.Aurelia and Viviana were ecstatic after he informed them that Clarice was finally gone and would never come back again. He told them that Clarice drowned in the deep ocean and her body had probably been eaten already by sharks and other dangerous animals inhabiting the deep blue sea.Carrying his travel luggage, he left the ship in high spirits, happy with his accomplishm
Alpha Callum arrives at an empty farm house. No one was around, so he put his bags in the corner and settled on the sofa, waiting for his grandfather to arrive. While waiting, he re-imagined what happened to his holiday vacation with his wife on the cruise ship.No matter what others said, he didn't believe Clarice had jumped into the ocean willingly. Someone had thrown her into the water. His wife was happy with him. She would never resort to suicide because they were blessed with a loving and peaceful marriage and had a son together. After searching the ship from top to bottom, he finally gave up on his suspicion that Clarice had caught a serial killer's attention and was abducted on board.Clarice definitely fell in the water because there was no way she could vanish from the cruise ship without leaving any trace behind. He was in deep thoughts when the door opened and Grandpa Eliezer entered the house. He was surprised to see Alpha Callum in his house looking distraught. He knew i
He couldn't stand the tense silence anymore. The agony of losing his wife was creating havoc in his system, making him desperate. It's either Clarice fell into the water or she was held captive by someone and held in their cabins. He needed to know what truly happened to her, or he would go crazy. He left the room and went to find the captain of the cruise ship."I want to find my wife. I want to know if there is a killer on the loose boarding this ship, or if she has fallen into the sea. I want clear answers!" he demanded angrily. The captain fell silent for a moment, then spoke, "What do you want to do, sir?""I want to search every single room on this ship to make sure no one is keeping my wife in his or her room. That's the only way I can be assured that she was not taken advantage of and not imprisoned in someone's room and held against her will," he said accusingly. The captain scratched his head in dismay. "Um, I have to warn you, sir. Not everyone will allow their rooms to be
Days passed by quickly. On the fourth day of the couple's wedding anniversary, they had a romantic candle-lit dinner inside their suite and made love all night long.On the 5th day, the couple spends their time in the pool area of the cruise ship and enjoys the jacuzzi along with other couples. They watched skaters on the skating rink for one hour. They also tried bumper cars, bikes high above the ship, and skydiving simulators. Then they proceeded to try a roller coaster ride, took the plunge and loved the adrenaline-pumping, exhilarating experience. They were having so much fun.The couple also went to watch a show in the theater. That night, the couple watched movies in their room and after finishing watching the movies, they left their suite and went to their favorite spot to enjoy the lovely night. They settled comfortably in the sun lounger and admired the star-filled sky."I want to drink chocolate coffee," Clarice said.Alpha Callum stood up. "Alright, let's go and buy coffee.
In his room on the second deck of the cruise ship, Kaspar put blue eye contact lenses in his eyes. Next, he picked up the black curly wig and placed it securely on his head. After a few minutes of fixing his appearance in the mirror, he was finally satisfied.Even if he bumps into the couple, they can't easily recognize him because his disguise looks authentic. As long as he doesn't talk to them face to face, his charade won't be discovered. Clarice may remember his original voice, but if they accidentally bump into each other with no choice, he will just use a fake voice to talk to her.For now, he would just follow the couple around at a safe distance. He doesn't want them to notice that he is following their every movement. He preferred to throw Clarice into the sea if he spotted her alone without her husband around.Putting poison in her food would be difficult because that would need perfect execution and her husband was always around to complicate things, and he had no weapon th
Days pass quickly. The day has finally come for the couple to embark on their one-week cruise ship holiday. The couple bid goodbye to their son Caden, Beta Amir and Lorey."We will bring you along next time, son," Alpha Callum said, planting a kiss on his son's head, ruffling his hair affectionately.Clarice hugged her son tightly, kissing his cheeks lovingly. "I'm going to miss you baby. I love you so much. See you soon!" she said teary-eyed."I love you Mommy and Daddy. Enjoy sailing on the ship," Caden replied, smiling brightly.Alpha Callum gives last minute instructions to his assistant, Beta Amir. "If something comes up, call me right away or send me a message on my email. Alternately, seek Grandpa's help. Do you understand?" he said.Beta Amir nodded his head. "Copy, Alpha. Rest assured I will take care of everything while you are away. You and your wife deserve a fabulous break away from home. Enjoy sailing on a ship."After the couple finished saying their goodbyes, they boar
