17. My Punishment

Alpha Callum landed inside Clarice's room in the rented house.

The lights were on. Clarice was still wide awake at that time, while Lorey was already sleeping soundly in the other room.

She looked at him and noticed his bad mood immediately. "Are you mad?" she asked gently. "Come here to the bed and tell me what happened. You can talk to me. I will listen," she offered, ready to help.

She could only guess that he and his wife had a big fight tonight, and he wanted to have someone to talk to. She was glad he chose to come to her room and stay the night with her.

"OK." Clarice smiled and kissed his lips. "Good night, babe. I love you so much. I never stopped loving you all these years," she said sweetly, her eyes welled up. She was glad she was given a second chance at life, allowing her to say those words again to her fated mate. It's a privilege she is truly lucky to have.

She rested her head on his chest, inhaling his manly scent. To be able to hug him again like this is a blessing she will treasure for the rest of her life. It feels so nice to be back in his arms again.
