Minutes passed, and Alpha Callum was still not answering the questions thrown at him.
"Why are you not answering my question, son?" Grandpa Eliezer asked. "Are you afraid to face your worst fears?" he asked.
Alpha Callum nodded his head. "Yeah, you are right, Pops."
"And you know very well what kind of wife Luna Viviana is. She will eat Clarice alive if she knows you had a son with her," Grandpa Eliezer reminded him.
"I know," he responded in a somber tone.
"I want you to be extra careful from now on. Having two women in your life is difficult to manage. The complicated situation will create havoc in your peaceful life," Grandpa Eliezer cautioned him of the storm that was brewing in the distance.
He breathed deeply. "I didn't expect this to happen, Pops. I thought Clarice and I would never have this kind of interaction ever again. I'm just surprised by the sudden turn of events. Until now, I'm still processing things in my head."
"I know, son. You attended Alpha Bruce's wedding only to find your fated mate poisoned to death, and you have no choice but to save her," Grandpa Eliezer said. "Um, let me ask you this important question..."
"Bring it on, Pops," he said, urging his grandfather to express his mind openly.
"If you and Clarice didn't have a son together, would you still save her? Don't lie to me. Give me your honest answer," Grandpa Eliezer said.
"Yes, of course, I would still save her with or without our son. She helped us before, and it's my turn to help her when she needs my help the most," he answered without hesitation.
Grandpa Eliezer nodded his head. "Alright, after meeting her again, old feelings in your heart resurface after lying dormant for a long time, am I right?"
He nodded his head. "You are right, Pops."
"I know right," Grandpa Eliezer said with a grin.
A sigh escaped from his lips. "The Moon Goddess throws Clarice back to me. Who am I to question her motives?"
"You are right. I just hope Clarice doesn't suffer another heavy blow this time. She might never recover if Luna Viviana sinks her claws into her," Grandpa Eliezer said apprehensively.
"You have nothing to worry about Clarice's well-being, Pops. I will protect her and our son from my wife," he said reassuringly.
"Alright, I believe you, son," Grandpa Eliezer said. "I have to remind you that you can't have two women staying with you in the same house. It's a recipe for disaster," he warned him.
"I know, Pops. That's not going to happen," he assured him.
Meanwhile, on the second floor of the house, Clarice was ready for relocation.
Lorey had just finished packing their things and said, "I'm done packing, Luna."
"Alright, go downstairs and inform the men that we are ready to leave," Clarice replied, donning a blue floral print sweatshirt.
Lorey left the room and went downstairs. "I'm done packing, Alpha, Grandpa," she informed them.
"Good," Alpha Callum stood up. "Time to leave," he said, and climbed the staircase.
When he entered the room, Clarice was styling her hair in a ponytail. She smiled and said, "I'm ready to go."
Alpha Callum grabbed the bags. "I'll bring the bags to the house first," he said.
"OK." Clarice nodded her head.
Alpha Callum disappeared from the room in the blink of an eye.
Grandpa Eliezer entered the room and chatted with the ladies. "Take care, girls. See you again in a week. Enjoy your vacation," he joked.
Clarice and Lorey smiled.
"We are going to miss you, Grandpa!" the women said in chorus.
"I'm going to miss you two as well," Grandpa Eliezer replied. He looked at Clarice. "Don't forget to take your medicine daily," he reminded her.
Clarice nodded her head. "Yes, I will, Grandpa. Thank you so much for taking care of me."
"Don't mention it," Grandpa Eliezer replied and left the room.
A few minutes later, Alpha Callum appeared in the room. "Ready, girls?" he asked.
"We're ready," Clarice answered.
Alpha Callum held their arms. "Girls, close your eyes and I will execute the teleportation process in my head," he ordered.
The women obeyed and closed their eyes.
The trio disappeared from the room in the blink of an eye.
A few minutes later, they appeared in the living room of the rented house.
Alpha Callum lifted Clarice effortlessly into his arms. Then he looked at the maid. "Lorey, bring the groceries into the kitchen and arrange them in the cupboard," he ordered.
"Copy, Alpha." Lorey grabbed the bags and went to find the kitchen.
Alpha Callum climbed the stairs and settled Clarice comfortably into the bed of her new room.
The couple looked at each other in the eyes. Their eyes spoke volumes.
Thick silence engulfed the room.
Clarice cleared her throat. "Um, I just want to ask this... How is Luna Viviana as a wife?"
Alpha Callum sighed. "She is a jealous freak-type," he told her the truth.
"So I presumed she would react negatively if she discovered that we had a son together, and I'm your fated mate?" Clarice asked anxiously. Anxiety gripped her heart.
"Yup. She will go berserk out of jealousy for sure," Alpha Callum replied in a serious tone.
Clarice felt the need to tell him in advance about her plans for the future. "Um, I just want to tell you that I won't leave my son again. You can't separate me from my son. Wherever he goes, I will follow him. In short, we are one package. If you bring our son to your mansion, you will also have to take me with you. You have to respect my decision. Period."
Alpha Callum sighed deeply, unable to say anything. Then he finally said, "Do you want to be my mistress?" he asked her point-blank, trying to change the perplexing topic.
"Does it matter?" Clarice rolled her eyes, amused by his question. "I'm your fated mate, remember?"
Alpha Callum sneered. "Yeah, thanks for reminding me."
Clarice closed her eyes. "I don't have to be your mistress. I don't want to cause you and your wife unnecessary trouble. We don't have to go that far. All I ask of you is that you allow me to stay with my son. I want to raise him properly as your heir to the throne since you and your wife have no children yet."
A muscle in Alpha Callum's jaw twitched. He is in a dilemma.
Clarice saw conflicting emotions flashing on his handsome face. "I'm sorry about this. I didn't mean to give you problems. But I just want to be honest with you regarding our arrangement. Once we get our son, there is no turning back," she said in a foreboding tone.
"No need to apologize. Let's just talk about this matter some other time. I still need to give you and Lorey a tour around the house," he said, changing the topic quickly. "Let me help you get back downstairs, no need to use crutches," he offered.
She shook her head. "I'm fine with the crutches. I must learn to walk on my two feet if I want to get better," she said, refusing his help.
"Fine, let's go downstairs," he said and handed the crutches to her.
Using crutches, Clarice rose up and walked slowly towards the door with Alpha Callum leading the way.
Clarice managed to go down the stairs safely.
Alpha Callum gave the two girls a tour of the house and introduced Beta Amir to Clarice.
"Nice meeting you, Luna Clarice!" Beta Amir said, delighted to finally meet the famous beauty.
Clarice smiled. "Nice meeting you too, Amir. And please don't call me Luna anymore. I'm no longer the Luna of the Bloodhound Pack. You can call me by my name, or you can call me Lady Ghost. I'm supposed to be dead, remember?" she joked.
Silence enveloped the room.
They were reminded of how tragic Clarice's ordeal was before her successful rescue.
The others don't get her jokes at all. How can someone make a joke out of her tragedy?
Beta Amir coughed a little. "Girls, you need to see the swimming pool. It's amazing!" he said, trying to change the depressing topic.
"OK. Take us there," Clarice finally spoke.
The men took the girls to the swimming pool and they liked it.
After the house tour ended, the men bid farewell to the girls and went home, leaving the women to their devices.
That night, while lying in bed, Clarice felt tormented. She can feel in every fiber of her being that Alpha Callum still has feelings for her because they were fated mates. They will always be attracted to each other because that is how the mate bond works.
Despite that, he tries hard to ignore the strong feelings between them, as he doesn't want to complicate things given that he is married.
The two of them staying under one roof might lead to temptation, heartbreak and possible tragedy because of Callum's wife.
Her body shuddered at the possibility of facing another round of tragedy again.
'Not again!' She groaned in dismay.
But she has no one right now. She can only depend on Alpha Callum for protection and living expenses.
Actually, she was frightened that if Callum abandoned her she would eventually die. Aurelia and the despicable shaman would surely hunt her down if they found out that she was still alive.
Sigh, her life is in danger and only one person can help her. It's no other than her fated mate, the powerful Alpha Callum of the Savage Howl Pack.
The following day, Alpha Callum and Luna Viviana were getting ready to go to the farm."I'm excited to visit the farm again," Luna Viviana squealed in delight. "I'm hoping that Grandpa Eliezer had finished creating the fertility concoction so we can finally have a child of our own," she added wistfully.Alpha Callum fell silent.Luna Viviana noticed his silence. "Why? You no longer want to have a child with me? You already give up?" she asked, observing his face closely, feeling hurt that he seemed to be losing interest in the topic.Alpha Callum sighed deeply. "Don't say that. If the Moon Goddess gives us children, then thanks to her. If she doesn't give us a child, then I'm fine with it. You don't have to torture yourself about having a child. It is something you can't force. It has to happen naturally," he said gently, not wanting to prolong the uncomfortable topic any longer. He did want to have a child with his wife, but he had already given up a long time ago after their family
When afternoon came, the couple went to the lake.Luna Viviana wants to spend the night in the lake. She just wants to have a romantic evening with her husband and make love in the starry night. The evening was fast approaching."Let's swim in the water naked then make love all night long," she suggested naughtily, discarding her clothes.Alpha Callum shook his head. "Not tonight. I'm not in the mood," he refused politely. She pouted up a storm. "What's wrong with you, hon? Why are you no longer interested in making love with me? How can we conceive if we don't have sex?" she asked, deeply hurt by his refusal to have intimate moments with her."I said, I'm not in the mood," he replied irritably. Her face darkened. Tears shimmered in her eyes. "You don't find me attractive anymore? You don't love me anymore?" she asked bitterly. Tears glistened in her eyes.Alpha Callum groaned. He was not in the mood to entertain his wife's tantrum."Wait, you never told me that you loved me even once
Alpha Callum landed inside Clarice's room in the rented house. The lights were on. Clarice was still wide awake at that time, while Lorey was already sleeping soundly in the other room. She looked at him and noticed his bad mood immediately. "Are you mad?" she asked gently. "Come here to the bed and tell me what happened. You can talk to me. I will listen," she offered, ready to help. Her soothing and welcoming voice made Alpha Callum walk towards the bed."Sit down," she ordered, patting the empty space beside her.He lowered himself to the bed and sighed heavily. She placed her hand on his back. His body tensed immediately. "Relax. I just want to make you feel better," she said softly, rubbing his back gently. The stress he kept inside started to evaporate into thin air under her relaxing and comforting touch. She continued giving his back a gentle massage, until his body completely relaxed under her heavenly touch. "You don't want to talk about it?" she whispered in his ears. His b
Alpha Callum was still wide awake despite it being already past midnight. Clarice was in a deep sleep beside him, snoring softly.Despite the bliss he felt after Clarice pleasured him, he couldn't sleep. He was supposed to avoid getting bewitched by Clarice's charm. But since they are fated mates, he couldn't ignore the irresistible pull they feel for each other. It is indeed a big mistake to stay in the same room with her. Their mate bond is very strong, and it consumes them both. And now they have made the biggest mistake of their lives, getting reconnected again. It will be very hard to avoid each other from now on.He stared at the ceiling, wondering how to solve this problem? If he confessed to his wife that he had reconnected with his fated mate lately, and they had a son together, would Viviana accept Clarice? He was not sure about that.Given his wife's feisty attitude, he was afraid Viviana would not be as understanding as Clarice. He feels guilty right now. It was the first
That night, after spending the whole day in the lake, Luna Viviana had mellowed down. She even helped Grandpa Eliezer prepare dinner in the kitchen. It's already 7:00 in the evening and Alpha Callum hasn't returned yet. The place was outside the coverage area, there was no signal, she couldn't call or send a text message to him. Luna Viviana was furious again.Grandpa Eliezer was looking at the door, well aware that the woman sitting beside him on the sofa was on the verge of exploding in anger. Sometimes he wanted to tell her to enroll in an anger management program to deal with her temper."Let's eat, Grandpa. I'm tired of waiting for my husband. Obviously, he is busy somewhere..." she grumpily said."OK." Grandpa Eliezer replied. They went to the kitchen and ate their meals in silence. After helping Grandpa Eliezer with washing the dishes and tidying the kitchen, Luna Viviana retreated to her room. She was pacing back and forth on the floor, increasingly annoyed that her husband ha
The reason why she wanted to spend one week's alone time alone with her husband was to have a sweet and romantic moment with him on the farm. She wanted to fill the whole week with their laughter and romantic escapades, but the opposite happened. Her husband is slowly distancing himself from her. There must be a big reason why he's changing before her very eyes. She's eager to find out why. After mulling over her depressing situation, Luna Viviana went to the bathroom to start her day.As usual, she ate breakfast alone at the dining table while Grandpa Eliezer was out there tending to his plants and animals. After she finished eating her meal, she washed the dirty dishes, tidied the kitchen and finally left the house, heading to the place where the old man was busy spending his time. She found him feeding the chickens inside the poultry shade. "Good morning, Grandpa!" she said cheerfully."Morning." Grandpa Eliezer smiled. "Have you had breakfast already?""Yup," she responded with a
The door opened, and Grandpa Eliezer stepped outside. "Son, you're finally back," he commented casually."Yup. Where are you going, Pops?" he asked."Go to the lake to check on your wife. She's been there since the morning. She was upset because when she woke up in the morning you were already gone," Grandpa Eliezer explained. "You seemed to have forgotten that you had a wife waiting for you here," he said wryly.Alpha Callum sighed, scratching his head, feeling guilty. "I'll go there to check on her," he replied."Go ahead then. I have to remind you that she was pissed, so avoid worsening the situation with her," Grandpa Eliezer warned him."Got it, Pops. I'm going there now," Alpha Callum replied and turned around, walking on the path leading to the lake. After walking for a few minutes, he finally arrived at the lake and saw his wife sitting on the picnic blanket, staring blankly at the majestic mountains looming in the distance. "Sorry I'm late," he apologized as he approached her
Seven days later. On Sunday morning, Alpha Callum and Luna Viviana can be seen loading their bags into the vehicle. The couple bid farewell to Grandpa Eliezer."Grandpa, thank you for taking good care of me. And thank you so much for fertility medicine. I can already feel its good effect on my body," Luna Viviana said gratefully."Don't mention it," Grandpa Eliezer replied, smiling. "I hope you had a good time on your one-week vacation here at the farm, dear," he said sincerely.Luna Viviana smiled brightly and said, "I did! My husband has been great to me the whole week. I hope he will stay that way for me forever. Thank you for everything, Grandpa.""Alright, Pops, we're going now," Alpha Callum said, then slid into the driver's seat, starting the engine of the vehicle."Drive safely, son. Take care, guys," Grandpa Eliezer said, waving his hand.Luan Viviana waved goodbye to Grandpa Eliezer as their vehicle was moving away from the farm house.A few moments later, Grandpa Eliezer co
She was transported back in time when she was alone sitting on the sun lounger, enjoying the lovely night, waiting for her husband to arrive with their coffee. Then came the stranger, intentionally dropping his wallet on the floor and her nightmare began...Clarice felt her heart beat frantically when she realized that the stranger was no other than Kaspar. He took her off guard, froze her and lifted her body, throwing her into the water without mercy. When she hit the water she thought she would die. She can't do anything to help herself. She screamed, trying to ask for help, but no sound came out of her mouth. She felt her body falling deeper into the water, but to her surprise she resurfaced in the water again and, out of the corner of her eyes, she saw the cruise ship sailing away without her.Nobody saw her when she fell into the water. No one could help her, even her husband.Horrified by her hopeless situation, she will die alone in the freezing water. Her dead body will be eat
A thousand miles away on a secluded island far from the city and towns, Clarice was wide awake, sitting on her bed in total darkness. She trembled in fear when the door opened. The light coming from outside flooded the dark room. There she is...Demetria, the bloodthirsty vampire, enters the room to feed on her blood again.Clarice trembled in fear. This vampire will feed on her blood again and again, leaving her fearing for her life. She fears that one day she will die and never be able to escape this room alive because this vampire will drain her body dry.Although Demetria saved her from drowning in the dark ocean, she was also feeding on her blood thrice a week.Demetria snapped her hand and light flooded the room. "How are you today, dear?" she asked, coming closer."Please let me go home. My husband and my son are worried about me. They think I have died. Please set me free," Clarice begged desperately, tears flooding her eyes."Dear, I just want to let you know that your husban
Two months later...The distraught Alpha Callum arrives at his Grandpa's farm, broken hearted."Gramps, I don't know if I still continue searching for Clarice in the ocean. We still can't find her no matter how hard we try," he said miserably."I know, son, it's very tough on your part. I wish I could help you. I'm also sad and devastated by Clarice's disappearance. You have already run a missing person ad in every major newspaper in the whole country but no one has found Clarice's body yet. The worst thing I can think of is the reason why we can't find her body is because some sharks found her first and we both know what it means." Grandpa Eliezer said sadly, patting his grandson's shoulder to comfort him.Alpha Callum wept quietly. "I don't know if she's already dead or alive. If she drowns, I just want to find her body and give her a proper burial. Is that so much to ask?" he asked dejectedly.Grandpa Eliezer sighed heavily. Watching the misery in his grandson's eyes filled his hea
Kaspar finished his one-week-long holiday on the cruise ship, making sure that Clarice is already buried in the deep ocean with no chance of coming back to the land of the living. He watched in satisfaction as Alpha Callum desperately searched every room and cabin to find his beloved wife. But he failed to find her.Kaspar was lucky that heaven favored him because the CCTV camera in the couple's favorite spot malfunctioned on the same day he succeeded in completing his evil plan.Since no evidence can point to him as the culprit of Clarice's disappearance, he enjoyed his remaining days on the cruise ship, unbothered.Aurelia and Viviana were ecstatic after he informed them that Clarice was finally gone and would never come back again. He told them that Clarice drowned in the deep ocean and her body had probably been eaten already by sharks and other dangerous animals inhabiting the deep blue sea.Carrying his travel luggage, he left the ship in high spirits, happy with his accomplishm
Alpha Callum arrives at an empty farm house. No one was around, so he put his bags in the corner and settled on the sofa, waiting for his grandfather to arrive. While waiting, he re-imagined what happened to his holiday vacation with his wife on the cruise ship.No matter what others said, he didn't believe Clarice had jumped into the ocean willingly. Someone had thrown her into the water. His wife was happy with him. She would never resort to suicide because they were blessed with a loving and peaceful marriage and had a son together. After searching the ship from top to bottom, he finally gave up on his suspicion that Clarice had caught a serial killer's attention and was abducted on board.Clarice definitely fell in the water because there was no way she could vanish from the cruise ship without leaving any trace behind. He was in deep thoughts when the door opened and Grandpa Eliezer entered the house. He was surprised to see Alpha Callum in his house looking distraught. He knew i
He couldn't stand the tense silence anymore. The agony of losing his wife was creating havoc in his system, making him desperate. It's either Clarice fell into the water or she was held captive by someone and held in their cabins. He needed to know what truly happened to her, or he would go crazy. He left the room and went to find the captain of the cruise ship."I want to find my wife. I want to know if there is a killer on the loose boarding this ship, or if she has fallen into the sea. I want clear answers!" he demanded angrily. The captain fell silent for a moment, then spoke, "What do you want to do, sir?""I want to search every single room on this ship to make sure no one is keeping my wife in his or her room. That's the only way I can be assured that she was not taken advantage of and not imprisoned in someone's room and held against her will," he said accusingly. The captain scratched his head in dismay. "Um, I have to warn you, sir. Not everyone will allow their rooms to be
Days passed by quickly. On the fourth day of the couple's wedding anniversary, they had a romantic candle-lit dinner inside their suite and made love all night long.On the 5th day, the couple spends their time in the pool area of the cruise ship and enjoys the jacuzzi along with other couples. They watched skaters on the skating rink for one hour. They also tried bumper cars, bikes high above the ship, and skydiving simulators. Then they proceeded to try a roller coaster ride, took the plunge and loved the adrenaline-pumping, exhilarating experience. They were having so much fun.The couple also went to watch a show in the theater. That night, the couple watched movies in their room and after finishing watching the movies, they left their suite and went to their favorite spot to enjoy the lovely night. They settled comfortably in the sun lounger and admired the star-filled sky."I want to drink chocolate coffee," Clarice said.Alpha Callum stood up. "Alright, let's go and buy coffee.
In his room on the second deck of the cruise ship, Kaspar put blue eye contact lenses in his eyes. Next, he picked up the black curly wig and placed it securely on his head. After a few minutes of fixing his appearance in the mirror, he was finally satisfied.Even if he bumps into the couple, they can't easily recognize him because his disguise looks authentic. As long as he doesn't talk to them face to face, his charade won't be discovered. Clarice may remember his original voice, but if they accidentally bump into each other with no choice, he will just use a fake voice to talk to her.For now, he would just follow the couple around at a safe distance. He doesn't want them to notice that he is following their every movement. He preferred to throw Clarice into the sea if he spotted her alone without her husband around.Putting poison in her food would be difficult because that would need perfect execution and her husband was always around to complicate things, and he had no weapon th
Days pass quickly. The day has finally come for the couple to embark on their one-week cruise ship holiday. The couple bid goodbye to their son Caden, Beta Amir and Lorey."We will bring you along next time, son," Alpha Callum said, planting a kiss on his son's head, ruffling his hair affectionately.Clarice hugged her son tightly, kissing his cheeks lovingly. "I'm going to miss you baby. I love you so much. See you soon!" she said teary-eyed."I love you Mommy and Daddy. Enjoy sailing on the ship," Caden replied, smiling brightly.Alpha Callum gives last minute instructions to his assistant, Beta Amir. "If something comes up, call me right away or send me a message on my email. Alternately, seek Grandpa's help. Do you understand?" he said.Beta Amir nodded his head. "Copy, Alpha. Rest assured I will take care of everything while you are away. You and your wife deserve a fabulous break away from home. Enjoy sailing on a ship."After the couple finished saying their goodbyes, they boar
