Chapter Six

Elena's POV:

Stepping onto the front porch alongside Mason, I discovered that he had arrived here with just two cars, one Mercedes and one SUV.

Funny, these two cars could buy all of Williams’ luxury cars put together.

I watched Mason make his way to the Mercedes as his bodyguards marched up to the SUV, he held the door to the passenger seat open, gesturing for me to get in. I moved quietly to the car and made myself comfortable.

Mason casually made his way to the driver's seat while my eyes followed him as he walked elegantly.

“Did you drive all the way here?” I asked, as he entered the car.

“I don't use drivers.” He replied curtly, inserting the key into the ignition switch. The sound of the car starting reverberated through the silent car.

One of his bodyguards opened up the gates as Mason and I drove out of the house followed by the SUV. As we drove along the busy street I decided to ask Mason a question that had long pricked my thoughts.

“How were you able to get all these files ready in such a short time? And also about tracking me down, we barely spoke for thirty seconds. How then were you able to track me?” I asked.

“You have quite a lot of questions, cupcake.” He said, staring at me. “Where do I start?” He asked.

“Anywhere is fine by me.” I replied.

“GGI, is more than just a bodyguard company. My men are trained in all areas not just physical combat. They need to be tech smart, as well as psychologically smart.” He stated. “GGI’s bodyguards escort renowned people like presidents, ministers, monarchs, business moguls and so on. Hence, the strict training scheme.” He explained.

“That's nice to hear, but all you have just said does not answer my questions.” I responded.

He smirked then said. “I placed a call and got someone to search for Miss Elena Walker. There are approximately over a thousand women bearing the name Elena Walker.

Although It's naturally difficult to determine the exact person you are in search of with just a name, however for someone like me with access to specific databases or resources like those maintained by the Social Security Administration or private companies specializing in public records, it's quite easy.” He boasted.

“I made use of several services like Whitepages, public records databases, and social media searches.” He revealed.

I stared at him completely confused by all he had just said. As if sensing my plight, he began to explain in more simpler terms.

“I found your social media account and through your most recent post when you were at a coffee shop, I was able to pinpoint possible locations where your house might have been located. Everything went pretty easy after that, I just had to find a house that was occupied by a young lady named Elena Walker, within the same street that was tagged as your location while you were at the coffee shop.” He said.

“I could have been on a totally different street.” I chimed in.

“Judging from what you wore, it was obvious that you were strolling when you decided to stop at a coffee shop.” He explained.

As I listened to him speak, images of me wearing a sweatpant and baggy shirt strolling down the street flooded through my mind.

“How did you prepare the documents so quickly, then?” I asked.

“While conducting a research on you after I discovered your location, I found out that your father recently met up with Business Tycoon Williams Tyson. I conducted further research and I discovered that he had received a huge sum of money from Williams but no business deal was made from your father's end. I was able to get through to someone who works for Williams and I discovered that you were the business deal.”

I wasn't surprised at all, I already found out about my parents deceit and William's madness. And I was a victim of his madness. I am certain of one thing, I will not let my emotions stop me from exposing Williams for who he truly is. I have no idea how but I will surely find a way.

“You did all these things in less than two hours?” I asked, unsure.

“I did it in under thirty minutes.” Mason bragged. “I wasted almost an hour in picking an outfit, and used up the remaining minutes to drive to your place.” He bragged further.

“You are quite narcissistic.”

“I know.”

“There is something I don't quite understand.” I said, out loud.

“And what could that be?” He asked.

“Williams’ gain.” I replied. “Why would he decide to take me for a large sum of money instead of requesting for my mother's company?”

Mason turned to look at me. “Williams was the one that made the deal, and not your dad.” Mason revealed.

I was stunned by Mason's words. Why would Williams want me?

“Your father came to William seeking money to clear your mother's debt and also bail your mother out of prison. He was willing to give up your mother's company but Williams requested for you.” Mason explained further.

“My mom's arrest was a lie.” I revealed

“I know.” Mason replied, leaving me shocked once more.

“How did you..”

“Your mother's company was going bankrupt, your parents hid this fact and went in search of a way to sell it out for money with the pretense of being indebted to a loan shark and not wanting to lose their valuable company to a bunch of hooligans. But for some reason Williams was not interested in a company that could fetch him millions instead he wanted you.” Mason replied.

“Why would he be interested in me?” I asked myself.

Williams killed me because he discovered that my father had lied to him about my mom being indebted and arrested. I knew nothing about him wanting me in the first place.

“Something is not right.” I said to myself.
