Narrator.
David roamed around the woods. He had to learn to survive in the wilderness. It was a good thing that he had his lycan with him. Hunting and looking for food was not the main problem. It was hiding from any lurking dangers. He was in the vampire’s territory, and that means he could be in danger. He must hide from them carefully. He ate what he hunted, drank and washed himself from a creek he found. But where does he sleep when night falls?
His eyes darted from the rich forest floor to the canopied branches. “I guess it is best that I sleep in a tree.” He muttered. Finn also agreed. He would be safer high up on a branch than on the ground. He walked around to find a suitable tree.
“The sun is about to set dude, hurry.” Finn huffed in his mind.
“ I’m trying.” David replied. Finn rolled his eyes.
“This is the forest. And these are just trees. None of them will be like those
David pov I double checked if I had masked my scent properly. Right now, I was face to face with one of them. The young girl flipped her dark brown hair which was a sharp contrast to her pale skin. I looked straight into her eyes as she gave me a friendly smile. “Hello. My name is Caroline. But you can call me carol.” She introduced herself. “I would go to shake your hand but I can’t. You are standing in the sun.” She stated. “Huh?” I was confused. This vampire girl definitely was friendly. She didn’t seem like a threat. But I shouldn’t just trust her too soon right? I mean she could just pretend to be nice and suddenly attack. I tried to read her face. Her face only showed signs of innocence. “What is a human doing in t
Narrator David couldn’t wait for evening to arrive. He had never felt so eager to meet someone before. He sat on the shore as he counted the ripples of water caressing the shore. He took a pebble and threw it into the water, making more ripples in the calm water of the creek. He smiled at it. The water was calm but it held many secrets. It definitely led to a larger water body where more dangers and treasures were hidden, just like his life. He may look calm but he had to prepare for something big. He was going to fight back. At least he had to find out who was the real one behind his grandma’s death. And whoever that was, will have to pay for what he had done. “David.” Carol’s voice came from behind. David stood up from his spot and faced the young vampire princess. He smiled as he walked towards her, who was waiting for him in the shade. “Hey.” He greeted her “Hi.” She said and looked around. She frowned as she noticed the cl
Carol pov I ran as fast as I could. I couldn’t afford to let my daddy find out that I’ve been sneaking out of the palace. I gasped and panted as I ran as fast as my legs could carry me and halted right in front of the thick vines that grew against the palace wall, carefully hiding from the palace guards. The bedroom window which I had left open when I sneaked out in the evening was still left as I left it. As I climbed up, I held on to the thick vines, careful not to get hurt and jumped into my room through the open window. I huffed and let out a huge sigh of relief as I closed the window, trying to calm my racing heart. It was not like that I liked to sneak around. I certainly didn’t enjoy running and climbing up the vines, but my father wouldn’t let me out of the palace walls and I longed to explore and discover our surroundings. I want to meet new people and perhaps have
Carol couldn’t sleep. She tossed and turned on her bed thinking about how she would break the news to David. A constant grin was pasted on her face. She sure was exhilarated. It took a long time for her to get too tired to stay awake and finally her eyelids grew too heavy to stay open. David on the other hand hunted a deer to satisfy his hunger and this time, he dug a deep hole in the ground and buried the left outs. What Carol had told him had taught him a lesson. He should have cleaned up after himself in the first place. He washed himself and got ready the best he could for Carol to come and meet him. He used some herbs and flowers he found in the wilderness, to make himself smell good. Finn kept snickering in his mind, teasing him about his efforts to look good for carol. “Oh shut up Finn. What is so wrong in wanting to l
David pov. Meeting the vampire king was nerve wracking. He wrapped Carol in a warm hug as soon as he saw her and placed a loving kiss on her forehead. But when his eyes landed on me, he glared dangerously. For a split second, I thought his green orbs changed red. He narrowed his eyes as he took menacing steps towards me. He bent down and sniffed the air around means tilted his head. “You sure seem to be a human. But why do I feel that I have seen you somewhere?” he hissed. I gulped. He must have noticed me when he met my father in a conference years ago. I had attended the conference for the mystical leaders which is held every ten years. That conference was supposed to create a good connection between the mystical kingdoms so that all of us could live together in harmony. And we all did live in harmony for centuries, until Caro
Carol pov The maid brought us food and blood for me. He ate the fruits and burgers while I drank my blood along with the food. I laughed when he cringed at the sight of blood. “Well, we are vampires, we can’t help it.” I told him. “Do you really drink blood from humans?” he asked. “Actually, we do. Human blood, animal blood. And in the earlier times, our ancestors took blood slaves from the humans.” I told him about a bit of our history as I sipped on my blood. “But that is completely prohibited now. We are no longer allowed to kill when we drink blood. We compel humans and animals before we feed and we feed responsibly. I personally prefer animal blood.” I told him. “It is a lot more healthy. Humans always eat all those junks. I ho
Narrator. When David woke up the next day it was already late in the afternoon. He remembered the events of the night and smiled to himself. It has been the best night of his life. “Hey Finn.” He greeted his lycan. “You want to go out now? You know, for a run?” he asked. Finn shook his head. “I think it would be better if we walk around and check out this place today.” He said. David couldn’t agree more. Perhaps he would find something interesting. He quickly freshened up and went out of the room. The palace was closed so well, so that the sunlight couldn’t penetrate in the dark corridors of the palace. So even though it was afternoon, the whole palace was as dark as it would be during the night. David strolled d
David pov. Watching them drink blood like juice was nauseating. I tried to ignore them and concentrate on the food in front of me. Her cousins were nice and friendly. There was one of them who was training to become a war general. The younger two were still in school which meant they will have to leave for school after the training. “So David. Are you going to learn kickass?” Evan, the older cousin asked. “I guess.” I replied. “Dad used to train me before he.....” “Died?” he asked. I smiled and nodded. “Train you?” he inquired, frowning at me. I bit my lips. I should be careful with my words. Humans don’t normally train like that, do they? “His dad most probably was in the
