CORA’s POV…

I had trusted these men once and it didn’t end well for me. There was no way I could trust them again. Who knew what they could be planning. They knew that I had come to save my mate then, and with Layla coming into the picture, they must have known it was Alpha Leonardo, and I was sure that now, they wanted to attack.

I couldn’t stand there doing nothing. Sure, it wasn’t like I would be of that much help to them, but I needed these men to know how much I hated them and how much their presence annoyed me, and as such, I did something as ridiculous as walking into the waiting room.

“What are you doing here, huh? Aren’t you satisfied already? Aren’t you already happy that…” before I could even finish speaking, the Beta walked to me.

“Cora, what are doing here? Aren’t you supposed to be with the guards, locked up?” He asked me, and I shook my head.

“I’ve told you, I didn’t try to kill Layla. Why should I be locked up if I didn’t do anything, and these men? Why are they here?
