ALPHA GIOVANNI

“A spy?” Evelyn’s voice was a mix of surprise and curiosity.

We stood on the rooftop, the moonlight casting a soft glow over the Pack members’ houses below. Their windows twinkled like stars. I glanced at Evelyn, the night wind gently lifting her hair.

“Not just that,” I replied, my gaze drifting toward the dark woods. “There’s been trouble with some strange creatures tearing through our farmland. I wanted you to check it out, but I canceled the assignment. I was worried something bad might happen.”

I met her bright blue eyes, and a rush of memories flooded back—rescuing her from the woods five years ago. She had captured my heart that day, and even now, standing beside her, I felt the same pull.

Evelyn nodded, a sigh escaping her lips. "Then we have to do something about it. I could round up the other Pack workers to check which farms were damaged."

"You're right, but we managed to catch one of them," I replied.

Her eyes sparkled with excitement. "That's a good start

EVELYN POV “Mom, what’s this?” Harry's eyes widened as he pointed at the laptop screen in front of us. He was sitting on my lap, his tiny fingers almost touching the image of a tall oil construction building that I had just opened.“It’s an oil building, sweetheart,” I replied, smiling gently. “But even if I tried to explain, you might not get it just yet.”“What’s an oil building?” he asked, curiosity lighting up his face.I sighed softly, scrolling down to show him more of the image. “It’s a place where workers help make oil. It’s all about oil production,” I explained, hoping to make it clearer for him.Harry pouted, his eyes glued to the screen as I closed the image. Suddenly, my office door swung open.“Uncle!” he shouted, jumping off my lap, his face lighting up with a big smile. He dashed toward Simone, who spread his arms wide, grinning.“My boy!” Simone exclaimed, wrapping Harry in a warm hug and lifting him high into the air.“Uncle, your white hair is getting so much! The

EVELYN POVHarry's hands cupped his cheeks as John flashed a wide, almost smug grin. I hadn't seen John smile like that before, but honestly, I didn’t care. It only disgusted me that he dared to call himself a "dad." That title should be earned, not thrown around."Harry, come here. Let’s go." I said with a cheerful voice but he shook his head."No, let Mr. Handsome carry me today," Harry replied, his words laced with admiration as he glanced up at John.I clenched my fists, my stomach knotting. Harry kept going on about John's "perfect" features—his eyebrows, his smile, everything. I could feel my anger bubbling up as I rolled my eyes and started walking toward the workers."Ma'am?"One of the workers, his eyes lighting up when he saw me approach, immediately bowed his head."Welcome, ma'am. I’m Elvis, the senior worker here. I’m sure you came to look around with your husband."My smile faltered, and I pulled my hand back from his outstretched one as my gaze flicked to John, still st

We stepped out of the car, the crisp air brushing against my skin as I tilted my head slightly to the left, trying to piece his words together. "What do you mean by two kids?" I asked, narrowing my eyes. "She has another one?" Andrew hesitated, his gaze flickering to the ground before meeting mine. "No, Alpha. They're twins—a boy and a girl. Harry and Harriet." My steps faltered, a jolt of realization crashing into me. My fists clenched tightly at my sides, my knuckles whitening. She gave birth to twins. Twins... for Giovanni? "How dare she?" I spat, my voice trembling with rage. "How dare she spread her legs for Giovanni? Why would she do that?" The words tasted bitter on my tongue, but the pain in my chest was worse. It clawed at me . JOHN POV"I would have come to your place, but you honored my pack by visiting. It's a little concerning, but I’m grateful," I said, forcing a smile.I couldn’t help but notice how he looked. Sharp jawline, green eyes, and his shoulder-length hair pulled back into a neat ponytail. Sure, he was handsome, but that was all he had, right? He wasn't even better than me. How dare Evelyn cheat on me with him?He glanced around, admiring the walls lined with paintings and towering statues. "I love your pack's museum," His voice trailed off as he studied the massive Moon Goddess statues. They were crafted from the rarest materials—rose gold, silver, and gold gleaming under the light. Surrounding her were the sculptures of her descendants, wolves' heads, and other intricate relics that spoke of ancient times. "Nothing entertaining here," I muttered."Wrong," he countered, his eyes flicking to mine. With a casual shrug, he adjusted the brown jacket draped over his suit and pants, his black leat

JOHN POVWhat kind of messed-up question was that? It hit me harder than I expected, like a punch I didn’t see coming. Was he trying to plant the idea that he's married to Evelyn? There’s no ring on her finger to back that up, so why even bring it up? I stood there, watching as he turned to leave the pack. Only Beta Andrew bothered to wave, and I forced a hollow, no-smile response. He climbed into his limited-edition G-Wagon, the engine growling to life before he sped off, leaving nothing but dust in his wake. I bit my tongue, forcing myself to stay silent when that question was asked. Did it change anything? No. Am I still going to chase her down? Hell yes. Her face was serious, and she gave a small shake of her head, a quiet warning in her eyes.“Don’t worry,” Evelyn said smoothly, sounding full of confidence. I looked back at her, and she met my eyes with a playful glint. “You’ll understand soon enough. I was about to say no, but before I could, she shook her head and held my arm tighter. Without waiting for my answer, she started pulling me forward. I took a deep breath, filling my lungs, then slowly opened my eyes.I shook my head and looked at Winnie, choosing not to acknowledge John walking quietly next to me.“I’m okay, really,” I said with a smile. “I just want to walk a little. And now that Harry’s curse won't affect anytime soon and he can control his shifting... that’s more than enough to help me feel at peace.” “You’re right. At least now he can go to school without being bullied for it,” Winnie said.I nodded slowly, glancing at her as she exchanged a quick look with John. Her hands shook as she fixed her hair, her eyes burning with anger. "What’s the point of bringing up the past when you’ve already ruined the future?"John gave a dry laugh, hands stuffed in his pockets. "If you want to know why the future fell apart, shouldn’t you start by looking at what went wrong in the past?"She looked him over, her voice cold. "Wasn’t it already stopped?""You stopped because you found out I’m the heir to the Silvermoon Pack," he blurted out. "If I didn’t have power, if I were just some nobody you would’ve kept going, wouldn’t you?"She gave a dry laugh, putting her hands on her hips like she didn’t care, even though his words were true."I don’t care about the past, alright?" she snapped. JOHNNot Giovanni telling his bodyguards to tie me up just because I spoke the truth about his past. I can't wait to expose him, but first, I need proof so everyone will believe me and I'll make sure Giovanni proves it himself.I have to use my claws to tear the ropes and escape his Pack. I need to see my son and keep teaching him how to control his shift, especially since he's so young and determined to learn. Plus, the ritual is happening this evening. When I arrived at the Pack Witch’s place, I froze, seeing that we have guests here. I saw Giovanni. My fists clenched on instinct, heat rushing to my face. But then I noticed something, his eyes. They were shifting nervously, and his posture was tense, like he was being watched. The Pack Witch stood in front of him, her sharp eyes locked on him like a predator cornering its prey. It looked like she was questioning him. When our eyes met, Giovanni’s shoulders dropped, and he let out a quiet sigh of relief. If Winnie and Evelyn hadn’t

Of course. The room felt tense, like there was electricity in the air. She kept asking questions about John to him like he held him and he looked just as confused as I felt. I couldn’t blame him, if someone asked me such weird questions, I’d be lost too.“Traffic was terrible today. That’s why I’m late,” John muttered. He spoke to the Pack witch, who slowly nodded.I watched John for a moment. He kept looking at Giovanni. Giovanni noticed and scoffed, giving a small sneer before turning away to stare at something across the cave. Now that John was finally here, I thought maybe we could start the ritual and hope it would all go smoothly.I didn’t even look at John. I was too focused on Harry, Giovanni, and my friend Winnie. They felt more important at the moment or maybe it was just easier than dealing with everything else.Harr

I sighed and reached for my glass on the table.“I’m not sure,” I said, slowly swirling the juice. “But something about her just feels… off.”“Off? Just like that?” Winnie frowned and moved her chair closer to mine, its legs sliding softly on the wooden deck. She looked at me carefully. I looked around, my eyes landing on the house. Giovanni might still be inside with Harriet. I then remembered his red knuckles that I noticed when I was in the hospital. Had he gotten into a fight or something?“What do you think about her?” I asked, breaking the silence.“Me?” Winnie blinked and pointed at herself like she was surprised. I don’t know where he went," she said casually.Embezzlement? Money laundering? And all those shady deals? Didn’t he understand how much trouble this could cause? How it could ruin the whole project if he got caught?I sighed in frustration, gripping the back of the couch, trying to calm myself. I had to find him. He had a lot of explaining to do. "Evelyn, a group of people came to see you today," Bea said carefully."Huh?" I looked at her, confused. "What do you mean?"She paused, then added, "They were women.""Women?" I asked, narrowing my eyes and that's when my mind went to the Women Affairs Group. "Are they trying to embarrass me even more?" I rolled my eyes and walked to the dining table, pouring a glass of water to calm down."Bea," I said, glancing at her. "Do you remember Mimi?"Bea turned toward me, looking curio
