EVEYLN

The strong smell of medicine hit my nose as I slowly opened my eyes. I looked left, then right, noticing the pale walls and stiff sheets. It didn’t take long to realize I was in a hospital bed.

"Finally, you're awake, Evelyn," said a voice I recognized. It was soft and full of relief.

I turned my head toward the sound, my heart skipping a beat. "Winnie?" I said, confused.

She nodded and gave me a small, unsure smile. Before I could say anything else, another voice spoke up in a calm but worried tone.

"You fainted from the shock,"

I looked over to the chair next to my bed and saw Reuben sitting there, his eyebrows pulled together with concern.

The memory hit me all at once, fast and messy. I remembered holding the steering wheel tightly as I turned onto an empty road, the car going faster by the second. I had picked that road on purpose, hoping to avoid hurting anyone. Then suddenly, another car appeared beside me, and the driver yelled through the open window.

EVEYLN “You want to fire Bea?” Winnie asked, surprised, as she poured orange juice into my glass.A warm breeze moved through the patio, lifting her hair while the golden sunset was gradually fading. I sighed and reached for my glass on the table.“I’m not sure,” I said, slowly swirling the juice. “But something about her just feels… off.”“Off? Just like that?” Winnie frowned and moved her chair closer to mine, its legs sliding softly on the wooden deck. She looked at me carefully. I looked around, my eyes landing on the house. Giovanni might still be inside with Harriet. I then remembered his red knuckles that I noticed when I was in the hospital. Had he gotten into a fight or something?“What do you think about her?” I asked, breaking the silence.“Me?” Winnie blinked and pointed at herself like she was surprised. I nodded.“She’s a good woman,” she said firmly, leaning back in her chair. “You’ve seen how she takes care of your kids. You better stop thinking like that.”I sighed

EVEYLN“Daddy!” Harry yelled, his voice echoing through the cave. He jumped up and ran to John as soon as he walked in. Hugging him tightly.I rolled my eyes. Of course. The room felt tense, like there was electricity in the air. She kept asking questions about John to him like he held him and he looked just as confused as I felt. I couldn’t blame him, if someone asked me such weird questions, I’d be lost too.“Traffic was terrible today. That’s why I’m late,” John muttered. He spoke to the Pack witch, who slowly nodded.I watched John for a moment. He kept looking at Giovanni. Giovanni noticed and scoffed, giving a small sneer before turning away to stare at something across the cave. Now that John was finally here, I thought maybe we could start the ritual and hope it would all go smoothly.I didn’t even look at John. I was too focused on Harry, Giovanni, and my friend Winnie. They felt more important at the moment or maybe it was just easier than dealing with everything else.Harr

JOHNNot Giovanni telling his bodyguards to tie me up just because I spoke the truth about his past. I can't wait to expose him, but first, I need proof so everyone will believe me and I'll make sure Giovanni proves it himself.I have to use my claws to tear the ropes and escape his Pack. I need to see my son and keep teaching him how to control his shift, especially since he's so young and determined to learn. Plus, the ritual is happening this evening. When I arrived at the Pack Witch’s place, I froze, seeing that we have guests here. I saw Giovanni. My fists clenched on instinct, heat rushing to my face. But then I noticed something, his eyes. They were shifting nervously, and his posture was tense, like he was being watched. The Pack Witch stood in front of him, her sharp eyes locked on him like a predator cornering its prey. It looked like she was questioning him. When our eyes met, Giovanni’s shoulders dropped, and he let out a quiet sigh of relief. If Winnie and Evelyn hadn’t

"Hey! Let go of my hair!" she shouted, struggling to break free. She scratched at his arm, but he didn’t let go.John smirked as he finally pulled his hand away from her hair in a roughly manner. She stepped back, breathing hard. Her hands shook as she fixed her hair, her eyes burning with anger. "What’s the point of bringing up the past when you’ve already ruined the future?"John gave a dry laugh, hands stuffed in his pockets. "If you want to know why the future fell apart, shouldn’t you start by looking at what went wrong in the past?"She looked him over, her voice cold. "Wasn’t it already stopped?""You stopped because you found out I’m the heir to the Silvermoon Pack," he blurted out. "If I didn’t have power, if I were just some nobody you would’ve kept going, wouldn’t you?"She gave a dry laugh, putting her hands on her hips like she didn’t care, even though his words were true."I don’t care about the past, alright?" she snapped. EVEYLN“Don’t you want to go inside and rest?” Winnie asked gently, her voice filled with worry.I let out a long sigh and closed my eyes. A cool breeze brushed against my skin, carrying the earthy smell of the forest. It felt peaceful, just what I needed. I took a deep breath, filling my lungs, then slowly opened my eyes.I shook my head and looked at Winnie, choosing not to acknowledge John walking quietly next to me.“I’m okay, really,” I said with a smile. “I just want to walk a little. And now that Harry’s curse won't affect anytime soon and he can control his shifting... that’s more than enough to help me feel at peace.” “You’re right. At least now he can go to school without being bullied for it,” Winnie said.I nodded slowly, glancing at her as she exchanged a quick look with John. Honestly, she wasn’t very good at hiding whatever was going on between them, it showed clearly on her face. John, on the other hand, kept looking straight ahead, his face calm and hard to read. But

"Haven't you hurt her enough already?" she said sharply. "You've been making her suffer. Maybe it's time to let her be."I turned to John, clenching my jaw. He was the reason the arrow missed and hit the tree instead of her. He was always hanging around her, never giving her space. And Aria thought I was the one who needed to back off?"Let’s just go home. You know this is the Pack witch’s territory, she might notice," Aria said, her voice low and urgent as she slipped her hand into mine. We walked away without saying anything else."But there’s no way she survived that car crash!" I said, my voice rising in anger. I ran my hands through my hair, trying to make sense of it all. I looked back at her, and she met my eyes with a playful glint. “You’ll understand soon enough. Want to know why?” She paused, making the moment feel longer. “Let’s make the rumors true.”Evelyn put her hands on her hips, tilted her head, and smiled wider, daring me to say something. How could she say that?“Look, let’s go, okay?” she said firmly.I didn’t want to leave. I was about to say no, but before I could, she shook her head and held my arm tighter. Without waiting for my answer, she started pulling me forward. ANNUAL COUNCIL MEETING DAY"Are you okay? Diane is supposed to go, not me," Evelyn said as she stepped into her room, blocking the doorway just as John was about to follow. She shut the door behind her, leaving him outside. The meeting was only a few hours away, and she still couldn’t believe he’d asked her to come instead of Diane."I can't take her," John said from the hallway, his voice firm. "It’s you I want there."Evelyn hesitated, her hand lingering on the doorknob. "Are you sure your mum will be okay with that?" she asked. He gave a dry scoff in reply. She turned toward the wardrobe and pulled it open. A black gown with silver stones swayed gently on its hanger, catching the light. She stared at it, frozen for a moment. When she turned around, John was smiling through the narrow gap in the doorway.“Enough playing hard to get,” he said with a grin. “Come with me.”"John..." she started, her voice barely above a whisper. But he didn’t let her finish. “I’ll be back in an hour.”

EVEYLNHonestly, I didn’t expect Renai to say that. A few people in the crowd nodded slowly, their eyes narrowing with thought, while others glanced around, unsure which side to take.John wasn’t here, probably busy getting ready for the Annual Meeting.“Don’t worry,” Renai said, tapping my shoulder gently. “Everything’s under control. I’ll hand over the flash drive to the elders so they can make the final call.”A few hours later, I stood in the mansion’s hallway, the silence pressing in like a weight. I wiped at my cheeks, trying to calm my breath as I took a deep breathe. The sting in my chest wasn’t from the tears, it was from the truth. I couldn't believe that I'm leaving with the lady who almost killed my daughter, it just broke me thinking about it.“Evelyn…”Andrew’s voice pulled me out of my thoughts as he appeared at the end of the hallway. I quickly wiped my face and forced a smile.“It’s okay to cry,” he said, walking toward me. His voice was gentle. “Don’t hold it in. Wh

DIANEI sped into the pack, tires screeching as the palace came into view. A crowd had formed near the side wing, Renai's side. Something was wrong. Slamming the car door behind me, I stepped out. All eyes turned in my direction. I didn't know who had made the call, but the tension here told me everything I needed to know, this was serious. "What’s going on here?" I demanded. Clusters of women stood together, murmuring. A few turned to glance at me; others simply rolled their eyes and looked away.Fuck! That reaction could only mean one thing, bad news.“I have proof they’re the Alpha’s children,” I recognized that voice pretty well it was Evelyn as she stood in front of the crowd. Her voice began trembling. “The Moon Goddess gave me twins,a boy and a girl. He’s at school right now, and my daughter…” Her voice broke. She wiped at her tears, head bowed. “She’s mute now.”“Was she born that way?” a woman asked. My heart thudded in my chest as Evelyn slowly lifted her head. She was ab

EVEYLN"It's ironic, seeing you here, Evelyn. I didn’t think you’d even want to look at me," Renai said with a dry scoff, her hand gripping the cold iron railing outside as I glanced around the compound, lush with blooming flowers and a neat stretch of carpet grass. She tilted her head, a mocking glint in her eye. "You’ve changed. Gotten bold, haven’t you? Who would've guessed, Evelyn, the once omega slave of this Pack would turn out to be...""I need your help," I cut her off. "And it’s the only way I can forgive you."Renai gave me a slow stare from head to toe, her lips curling into a smirk. "Forgive me?" she echoed with a laugh. "Did I ever do anything worth needing forgiveness for?, Was I among those you maltreated you?"Her words stung, but not because she was wrong. She hadn’t hurt me at least not in the obvious ways. No, she had just sent me on errands, treated me like the omega I was. "And is that what I’m talking about?" I snapped. "I’m talking about the false accusations

DIANE"Hey, open the gate!" I shouted, pounding on the metal frame. My fist hit harder with each knock, my anger burned inside of me. Still, no response. Was she really just going to ignore me? Maybe I should just climb the fence..."Hey! If you're going to cause a scene, do it at your own house," My heart jolted. I spun around and there she was, arms crossed, eyes cold. Before I could think, my feet moved on their own. I stormed up to her and slapped her across the face. She barely flinched. Tossing her hair back like I hadn’t just hit her, she stared me down."Wow," I scoffed. "So you really want your half-dead son to rot in that hospital, huh?" "You see," I said, watching her fists clench at the mention of her son. "I don't give a damn what the card says. I was sent here to get it back. I don’t care if you have to dig through the dirt with your bare hands—just find it, hand it over, and go crawl back to your pathetic little life."God, this Mimi or whatever her fuckass name is, s

EVEYLN"Diane was here," Bea said, glancing at me as I raised my eyebrows."What?" I asked quickly, my heart skipping. "Did she hurt anyone? Is everyone okay?"Bea shook her head, her mouth twisting into a smirk. "No, nothing like that. She just showed up to throw around some stupid warning, telling me you should back off whatever you're planning. But don’t worry," she added, her voice firm, "I told her if she’s got something to say, she better say it to your face, not ours."A warm rush of gratitude filled me. I couldn't help but smile at Bea, wanting to pull her into a hug right then."She was fuming," Bea said with a chuckle, rolling her eyes. I chuckled. "You would've slapped the hell out of her." Once I finished my meal at the dining table, Harry pushed back his chair with a scrape. Without a word, he gathered both our plates and headed toward the kitchen."What? Hey, come back here!" How the hell was this still here?"Where's the main picture?"Evelyn didn't answer. She just drew in a shaky breath and gently took the phone from my hand. I forced myself to stay still, my fingers itching to smash the damn thing against the floor. Thank the goddess I held back."I told you," I said. "She's dead. Isn't that enough?""Come on, Giovanni," she said, frustration flickering in her eyes. "Have I ever hidden anything from you? This isn't just about you, it’s about the Pack. You need a Luna."She hesitated as I stepped closer, my heart pounding in my ears. I was done holding this back."And what if I want you as my Luna?" I said, finally letting the words spill out. "What if I don't want anyone else?"I looked at her, willing for her to see it, to see how long I'd been holding this in, while she remained blind to how much

Instead, I flopped down on the opposite side of the cushions as I sighed."You’re no longer a member of this Pack," he muttered. "I respect your choice. But if you want to keep your duties, you'll have to convince John to agree to merge the Packs into one."I let out a harsh scoff, leaning back with my arms crossed. "And why exactly do you think that's a good idea?""But you know it's impossible, right?" he said, leaning forward slightly. "If the elders of Nightshade Pack find out, they'll remove you themselves."As much as I hated to admit it, he was right. Deep down, I didn’t want to lose my high rank in the Pack. I could still remember how proud I was the day I earned it, the way my heart had swelled when I stood beside him during meetings, learning how everything worked."What do you want to

EVELYNMy face turned pale the moment he asked John that question. I didn’t know why, but deep down, I felt he was talking about the girl we had rescued from the nightclub.I glanced around. The people in the restaurant were staring at us, frozen in fear. Some had already grabbed their things and bolted for the door, desperate to get away."You thought you were playing heroes, huh?" the man sneered. "But you had no idea where it would lead you."Suddenly, my phone buzzed in my pocket. I fumbled to pull it out, my hands shaky. It was a message from Giovanni: "Where are you? Come and meet me at the Pack now!" The man turned his eyes on me, especially after John stayed silent, offering only a smug smirk in return."This chick your girl?""Don't even think about laying a hand on her," John warned. The man only laughed, loud and mocking."Whoa, I'm so scared. If I fucked her right in front of you, you wouldn’t do a damn thing," he said, stepping closer. He grabbed a fistful of my hair, ya
