Everything was still the same for Drake he was the last heir of the most strongest dragon lineage; he was a smart billionaire and he was strong but most importantly he was immortal.
It was not hidden from anyone that dragons have longer life span, longer than any creature but just like any other creature they must die eventually unless they got killed by unfortunate conspiracies first whatever the reason might be they had to die that was the law of nature but Drake contradicted the law by becoming immortal when he sacrificed his powers for her. He lost his healing powers, power to control fire and his throne to became the next dragon king of dragon realm he never rejoice in his powers of immortality.
The only thing that made him different from other humans after his powers were gone were his wings, there size decreased because he couldn't take his dragon form anymore now but still he never regretted it either and if he got another chance, he would the same thing again and again.
He sacrificed his powers so his love could reincarnate again. When she died she didn't had any remaining lifes so he gave up his powers in negotiation for her next and last life but when she was gone he had a afterthought.
Did he want her to go through all of this thing again? Did he want her to leave the people she love here for him?
The answer was 'no' he couldn't let this happen to her again so he decided to let her live on her own.
The first time he saw her after she got reincarnated was in the hospital she was in her mother's arms. Many years passed since and for him those years felt like decades but he controlled himself because that what a true lover would do. He thought that would be the first and last time he would ever see her but who would have thought that destiny would lead her to him.
He remembered that night perfectly well when he was capturing a drunk man because he had to give a human life to the werewolves in exchange for a female dragon that he had known for his entire life. Luckily the man he had to capture was unarmed and intoxicated moreover the streets were empty making it more easy for him. He step down on ground and grabbed him by his neck and he was about to take off he saw the woman in front of him. He would've ignored her if she was anyone else but she was 'her', his long lost love, all grown up from head to toe and the only beautiful woman in all the realms but what made him shock was her eyes had tears in them.
He wanted to drop the guy (he was holding) on the ground and embrace her. He wanted to feel her, to let her feel him but before he could lose his control and break the oath he made to himself, he flew away.
“Would you snap out of it?” A voice broke Drake out of his reverie. He looked at the woman who was sitting beside him.
Her name was Ella, she was dragon-human shapeshifter like him or like he used to be. He was her saviour he saved her from their biggest enemies, the werewolves and now she was with him in his company as a personal secretary.
The dispute between dragons and werewolf was there from the very starting of his life, he didn't knew who initiated it and when it all first started but both the creatures made sure that it all kept going.
More to that when years ago he separated himself from his family and realm he planned to live in the human world with his woman in peace. his enemy Aiden Brown the human-werewolf shapeshifter was becoming the dangerous local mafia which innocent humans were scared of.
Ella waved her hands in front of him to get his attention. “Hello! I'm sitting right beside you, you know.”
He blinked his eyes a few times and replied. “Yes. . . what is it?”
“How much more time do you need to get over her?”
Drake exactly knew what she meant but instead he gave her irritated puzzled look.
“Oh don't give me that face, you know exactly what I'm talking about.” She blurted annoyingly. H
He closed his and sighed, he shouldn't get angry at her. “I can't get over her not now not ever and I'm thinking about something else.”
“Really!” She exclaimed. “That's why you haven't touched the glass that is in front of you for at least 20 minutes. I'm already at my third drink.”
Drake wanted to comment on her over excessive drinking habit but thought better against it because in that situation he wasn't a saint after all. Sometime he had this weird thought that by now he must had at least one quarter of world alcohol in his system and the rest in Ella's.
She took a sip from her glass to quench her thirst. “We should just return to dragon realm already, I don't know why we are here.”
“I'm not going anywhere, if you want to go you know exactly where the exit is.” He didn't even look at her while speaking, which made Ella more furious but still she tried to not lose control.
“You can become the dragon king there—”
Drake cut her off in anger. “I already told you I don't want to go, what word in it you don't understand.” When his words left his mouth then he understood there intensity, he looked over to Ella who's face fell. He tried to say something to lighten up the mood but nothing came out of his mouth. He felt like a jerk, no one was immune to his anger, not even his own butler Mason who always think of his wellbeing and was serving him for like forever. Ella was a bit annoying but he still didn't have any right to be a jerk to her for no reason.
He finally said after gulping an entire glass of brandy down his throat. “You know very well why I can't go back.” He gestured towards his butler to fill both of there empty glasses. “I don't have my powers so they won't make me a king and my father and I are not in very good terms moreover I rather let my parents dirty politics behind my back than see it there with my own eyes.”
Ella scoffed. “I know it's not about your power or father, it's about that woman that you love. Is she even born yet?”
Drake looked over to Mason who was pouring his glass now and he also caught his eyes.
“Leave us.” Drake said through his gritted teeth. The butler politely nodded and left the room.
“Why can't you see the love I have for you.” Ella rushed to finish. “You are literally rejecting me for a woman who is dead.”
“Ella, you are not someone I want to settle for, you deserve someone way better, someone who will see you for yourself and when they will look at you they won't find someone else in you.”
Ella placed her hand on his arms, “You know she is not here but I'm here for you.” Drake jerked off her hands with glaring eyes.
“Fine,” She huffed, “but don't you see she is the reason why you are in this state all depressed and—.”
He slammed the glass onto the table.
“ENOUGH! That's enough. Leave!”
“What?”
“I said, GET THE HELL OUT!”
Ella's eyes widen in shock. She stood up and walked away.
After he heard her heels clanking vanished he let himself get in his full rage, he slammed the table many times.
“How was this her fault—” He slammed his hand again. “—how was this her fault when I'm the one who killed her.” He broke down crying, just like every other night.

Emily looked at her watch, it was half past nine, perfect time to eat.
After she moved with her mother to her stepfather's house she rarely dined with them she always stayed in her room and after dinner time was over she would go down to eat all alone. She only dined together with her 'new family' when there would be a very special occasion or gathering that was the only time all the family dined together even though she always tried to avoid them by giving excuses like projects and assignment but some things were inescapable.
She unlocked her room door and went outside, she proceeded to downstairs when a sudden chatting stopped her on her feets.
“. . .Mom I'll be back before midnight, I promise.” Clara giggled. “either way you don't have to worry about me.”
“How could I not worry about you, my precious daughter. Amanda kissed Clara gently on her head.
Emily who was watching them from above the stairs had no emotion on her face. She no longer wanted her mother's love or affection but Clara was the most kindest human being, she deserved the world and on the other hand her mother deserved none at all.
Clara was now her stepsister but she knew her from highschool. They were not bestfriend or friend to be exact but they were classmates and sometimes partners in various projects. If they had more time they might become the closest of friends but now they were just complete strangers.
Clara had talent, presence of mind and money but still Emily always outrun her in academics. Maybe because she badly needed a scholarship or she was just smart.
She still remember the day her mother got married. Clara gave the most emotional speech about stepmothers, how she was so happy to find a mother who love her even after being a step mom.
That brought tears in people's eyes and Emily was just there sitting beside Clara having no idea what to say or do.
Some days before their marriage her mother informed her that she was pregnant and everyone knew about it except her.
Her mother was in her late thirties so it was hard to get conceive but with the help of doctors and science nothing was impossible and after they were sure that Emily's mother was pregnant they got married.
After nine months, her mother gave birth to a healthy baby girl and they named her Carly. There was nothing wrong with her name until Emily knew how they came with the idea of it.
They combined her and Clara's name and made this name.
Emily cringed when she heard about it, there imagination must be out this world to imagine doing this was okay
When Emily shrugged at the thought and realised that someone was pulling her leg, she looked down and saw her younger sister Carly glaring at her.
Emily slouched down and raised her eyebrows. “What is it?”
The little girl who had brown messed up hair scowled at Emily. “I'm trying to get your attention for so long but you are day dreaming. I need attention!”
A smile formed on Emily's lips as she saw her sister pouted face.
“Okay now you have my full attention.” Emily stopped for a moment. “Wait a minute it's past your bedtime, go back to your room and sleep.”
“You are no fun.” Clara retorted. “well at least read me a story book or something so I could fall asleep.”
“No I won't be reading anything and excuse me. . .I'm the most fun person in this house.” Emily hesitated a little because she knew it was a solid lie, her mother was rhe most fun person.
“Oh please, Clara is going out and I'm all alone.” She pouted again, so her request wouldn't be just dramatic but cute. She knew exactly what she was doing, it worked on everyone.
Emily straightened herself and picked Clara in her arms. “Fine but only this time.”
Both went inside her room. Her room was painted purple and she had everything a child could hope for.
Clara picked all the fairytale books she had placed in front of Emily.
As Emily was looking at the books she couldn't single book which was good. All the books had the same story. Girl got in trouble didn't know what to do and at the end a big guy came, solved everything and they live happily ever after.
“Quickly! Choose one.” Clara chimed.
“Haven't you already read them?”
“Yes but—”
Emily stopped her in mid sentence. “Let me tell you a new story.”
Without agreeing to the decision Emily threw her hand up and started the story.
"Once upon a time there was a princess who has a beautiful heart. She treated everyone with respect and kindness.
Because of her generous nature princess's father the king choose her for the succession of throne and after king died the princess became the queen. She ruled her kingdom with loyalty and patience so that peace can be maintained.
One day many dragons came to her kingdom and started burning down everything. As the queen saw her people's farms, houses and belonging burning down in ashes the queen demanded the dragons to stop as but the dragon king had something else in his mind. He told the queen to make a deal that she will come to his own kingdom as a hostage and he will leave her kingdom in peace.
Agreeing to dragon king's preposterous deal she went to his kingdom. The dragon won't let her go anywhere and he never let anyone meet her. Months passed but no one came to save the princess but one day when the princess and the dragon king were alone she took out dragon sword and aimed at his heart. The dragon died and the princess not only saved her kingdom but herself. At the end the people of her kingdom welcomed her with flowers and the princess and her people lived happily ever after."
Carly glared at her sister. “You do realise I'm just 4, right?”
"Geez! Go to sleep." Emily said teasingly.
"I can't sleep." Her sister parroted.
Against her sister's wished Emily stood up and shut the lights. She started to leave when her sister asked. "Why the prince didn't came to save the princess?"
Emily smiled. "Because the princess don't need a prince to save her, she can save herself. Now no more talk sleep or you know."
Both the sisters giggled and Emily opened the door to leave.
Amanda was in front of Carly's room, trying hard to listen what her two daughters were giggling about when suddenly Emily opened the door and caught her mother eavesdropping. Both of them flinched after seeing one other. “Oh!” Amanda panicked and explained the obvious, “I just came to see if Carly is asleep or not.” Emily mocked her in response. “By putting your ears on the door. Great excuse, bravo!” Embarrassed at getting caught red handed Amanda shouted. “Hey! It's my house I can go wherever I want.” With a grim look, all the traces of fun and smile she shared with her sister gone Emily walked past her mother into the stairs. Her stomach growled with hunger and she paced her way towards the dining table. When she looked behind her shoulder Amanda was following her. “Why are you following me, mother?” She
The storm was getting heavier and heavier with wild wind and heavy pouring but that didn't make any impact on the people inside the club, the club was as crowded as it could be. People were dancing on the loud heart throbbing music, radiating energetic vibes everywhere. The club was huge with dim lights and smoke all around the place making everything foggy. Even the waiters had to hold there trays above their heads as they slipped through the large crowd. Away from the dance floor in a lounge of VIP section Aiden was fulfilling his desires. He sat in between the two ladies, aggressively tugging one of the lady's bottom and on the other side he was kissing the other lady vigorously. A buzzer ran off and one of the woman stopped as she heard a buzzing sound from her watch and quickly said. “Time's up.” The other woman also separ
Emily felt her whole body shake in fear she whimpered in her sleep. She was again stucked in one of those nightmares which she was always had since childhood. They were unpleasant and cause a strong emotional response that exhaust her. Inside the nightmare she was hiding from someone very dangerous. If she get caught she knew exactly what would happen but for a foreign reason she did. Her body swiftly moved on its own and she found herself in between two people— in front there was someone whose face she couldn't see because all the darkness that surrounded him and she absolutely didn't care who was behind her. A hand with large claws stabbed right in her chest. Emily winced in pain but still when she looked at the dark figure in front of her she felt love and sympathy. Her eyes teared up as she bidded her last goodbye to the person who just killed her. E
Police sealed the entire coorporation building of Creed enterprises, team of investigators started investigating and questioning the employees while the forensic officers were hustling around taking pictures and collecting evidence around the dead body. Unaware about all of this Emily was in her rooftop apartment making herself breakfast when suddenly her phone rang, her mother's name barged on the screen. It's been years since she moved out of her stepfather's house, perhaps ran away was the better word to use in her situation. Emily's mother tried everything in her power to bring her daughter back, she even tried to bought the house Emily was living in but Kate, the old woman who owned the house firmly refused her offer. When she couldn't get the house she threatened Emily but luckily Emily had nothing to worry about, her college gave her a scholarship so she n
They brisked through halls to find the CEO's office alongside Maya planned different strategies to untangle the truth out from the culprit and Emily smiled at her innocence. They were just one step away from the CEO's office and the only thing stood between the CEO and them was the office door. Maya forcefully bumped on the door and waited for some response but all they could hear was silence, she knocked again and shouted. “Is someone inside, we are here to investigate.” “LEAVE NOW!” A threatening voice came from inside which made Maya flinch and Emily roll her eyes at. Ignoring the harsh tone of the person inside Emily looked at her colleague. “Ready, Maya?” "What! No!” Maya cried. “He sound terrifying.” Emily was taken back by that, just a minute ago she wa
Emily stepped out of the office, she didn't had the words to describe what she was feeling and most probably why she was feeling that way? Drake Creed was an arrogant and presumptuous man but what else she could expect from him, a man who would not step down from his office even when a man was brutally killed in his building. Speaking of the murder, her suspicion on the CEO increased further away; first his entire ignorance towards the muder victim, second his avoidance to answer the obvious question, thirdly he tried every possible way to change the actual discussion and not to mention he was uneasy the whole time he was there as if he talked a little bit more he would confess everything. All of this put him in the top of the the suspect list. She looked around in the empty hall Maya was not there just like Noah informed her in the call. Noah called her a moment ago when she was investigating that man, Noah informed her tha
“If a werewolf bites a human,” The doctor said, putting his hands on Drake's shoulder sympathetically. “there is a high chance that the human will become one of their kind. Except for a fact that she has no symptoms of changing.” Drake's head fell on his hand in agony. He had one job, freaking one job that was to protect her from creatures like him and he couldn't even do that properly, he thought to himself. Drake never cared about getting his powers back, hell he never cared enough about his own damn life, he only cared about one single person and after purposely staying away from her for so long, just to protect her for what? So she could get attacked by some creature, to be in a hospital bed after almost bitten dead by a werewolf. The doctor's hand tightened on his shoulder. “At least she is alive Drake and I know, you will care for her even after she becomes a hal
Emily's inside flared in anger when Noah didn't respond to her question, Noah always crossed the line. Emily was aware of the attraction and tenderness Noah showed her but that didn't mean she had to feel the same way, his constant involvement in her family matters was the only reason she disliked him. Not to mention the fact that her mother was using him like a puppet for her own ambition was beyond her. Noah, who was caught red handed from his foolish act, had no answer for her question because her mother never showed up. Emily turned to Maya, who looked uncomfortable. “Where's my mother?” Emily asked in annoyance, at the same time a sudden rush of expectation raised within her. A slight hope that her mother did care about her, not because of their reputation and status but because she was her daughter. Ever since she moved out, they never met each other privately. Wheneve
