When I turned around, I saw a face which I believe I have never seen before in my entire life. A female, in a black gown. Her fingers were pretty long but not as long as that of Magaritha who likes to keep long fingers to Intimidate her enemies. The woman was fairly beautiful but, was in her mind forties. She also wore a head scarf. On the headscarf was a fancy replica of a snake. If the woman is a witch then, the replica of the snake on her headscarf must be the symbol of her power."Who are you and why were you calling me the whole time?" I demanded boldly. I was not afraid of her because I believe my powers were powerful enough to deter any attack coming my way. She smiled at me and began. "My name is vera and I'm here to reach a deal with you, would you mind?""Yes, of course, I would mind but first, may I hear what you have to say." I began walking closer to her because we were standing more than twenty metres apart from each other. I stopped at about five metres, I could hear
Vera and her Witches were treated well. They were made to understand the Alpha's extreme response to them. I introduced her to Gama as well as other people with us in the camp. After that, it was time to go so, I went to see her and her Witches off. There was a particular question which I needed her to answer. By now we had walked to the outskirts of the camp. We were at the right place to ask questions."What made you go into hiding all those years?" I asked. She stopped walking and look at and answered."I was waiting for the right time! And as long as you have not grown up to fulfil the prophecy, I kept hiding.""What if I was killed that night at the castle, what could have become of your faith in the prophecy?"A sparrow passed by. Vera looked at me briefly before pointing at the flying sparrow. "Look at the bird that just flew above our head, as small as the bird may be yet, it believed it can never fall off the sky. Now, let's bring this illustration home, as that sparrow ha
I kept thinking about the prophecy when Vera left. I was not afraid of the prophecy itself rather, I was nervous about fighting Magaritha. The last time we met, she underestimated me and I seized that opportunity to deal with her, although it was risky. She could have killed me on the spot that was what she always wanted after all. If not that the Alpha, intervened on my behalf and fought with the Witch, while I escaped with the magic book, I would have ended up dead.I returned to the camp to meet the Alpha shaving his beards that have grown so big while he was in prison. He was holding a mirror in one of his hands, the other hand contained a mirror. "There you are!" I said. "Yeah, I'm trying to see if I could cut some of these hairs off." He looked and say, "you look very beautiful this evening, may I know why you are looking very beautiful?" He winked his eyes at me."Oh, my God! stop kidding. You are making me feel shy!" I told him why pretending at the same time as if I was shy
The next morning was unusual, for the first time in my life, I awoke to find myself naked with a man, not just an ordinary man but the Alpha wolf. At first, I thought I was dreaming but, I was not, this is reality.I was about to get up from the bed and quickly wear my clothes. I was ashamed of myself for laying naked with a man. Meanwhile, the pain in my abdomen which I had complained to the Alpha, the previous night has reduced. Just as I was about to get up from the bed as quickly as I could, I felt a heavy hand draw me back. It was the Alpha that grabbed my hand when I wanted to live. "Good morning, my love!" he beganOkay, let's be realistic, I wasn't used to pet names but here now, the Alpha is already calling one. You have no idea how shy I was."Good morning, Ammon," I replied."How was your night?" "It was great!" I refused to look at his face even as we were talking but, the Alpha has another plan. He was still holding hands with me so, dragged me with all his strength to
We rode on our horses for several minutes, in the direction which Gama had told us his attackers might have come from. Still, there was no sign of them or their tracks. It was almost an hour later that Steve saw some tracks. They were mixed tracks in the sense that, they were owned by not only humans but by animals as well.We all came down from our horses to take a first-hand look by ourselves. Steve pointed to the direction where the footprints seemed to be heading. "Gama was right, his attackers did come from the north," he turned towards the Alpha while squatting on the ground. "What should we do? Should we still go after them or pause or go back?" he asked."There is no going back!" stated the Alpha. "Going back is out of our options at the moment. We will keep pushing them, we will never back off. They will regret ever stepping foot on this land. None of them will go free. Now, I want all of us to mount back on our horses and ride on the catch-up with those bastards!" The Alpha
I was sure that the abusive man was frightened as hell, about what we are going to do with him. We had his two hands tied behind his back. Perhaps, he was not feeling comfortable, it was far from that at the moment. He never stopped pleading for his life. Perhaps, he thought we are going to kill him any moment from then. But, we were not gonna kill him yet, we needed some pieces of information from him, who knows, he could be still important to us."Who are you and what are you doing here?" The Alpha asked him. With a timid voice, he replied. "We are slave traders and we are here to hunt for people. Please, let me go and don't kill me!""Well, I see you are gonna sell these women off to slave buyers, isn't that right?" continued the Alpha."Yes, but, I have decided to stop! Now I know that is wrong to go into human slavery!" he looked downwards but, Steve wasn't too kind to him. He wasn't going to tolerate the man's abrupt silence. He slapped the man hard on his cheek. The abusive man
At the widow's mercy, the slave trader pleaded for his life. "Please, don't harm me! Have mercy on me!" The widow ignored his pleas and went on to grab the sword that has been handed over to her by Steve. She positioned it in her right hand, while her left hand supported it. She raised the sword and flung it to the slave trader's heart but, not very close as to cause him any injury. It appears she was only trying to measure the distance of the sword from her hand to the slave trader. Perhaps, after that, she can go ahead to have a clean stab to his stomach. The slave trader tried his luck one more time to plead with the young widow but, it was too late I guess. The hate in her for him could have prevented her from listening to any amount of pleas the slave trader was willing to offer. She was never deterred because she has made up her mind to end him just like he ended her husband without thinking twice. She pushed the sharp pointed end of the sword through his belly. The slave trade
We set out for war the in the evening of the next day. We marched through the woods in the dark. Until we reach the outskirts of Muldoch. It seemed like the enemy had no idea that we are coming. There set their camp outside the city and were in great merriment. We were excited because we had them in a condition in which they will quickly fall to us. Except for us, that was the battle strategy. I guess there was only one way to find out and that is to approach them with caution and identify their weakness. Our archers were the first line of defence we had. Before that, we have been training them for weeks now. And because Steve was a good shooter, he trained many of the men who knew nothing about shooting with arrows. Looking at the angle of where we are at the moment, one could say that we are battle ready."Steve!" called Ammon as we all take our positions. Steve approached him hoping to receive his orders. The Alpha did give his orders. "Ready the archers. Tell every man to make his
