I felt as if lightning had struck me.

Charlie didn't recognize me at all.

Fiona chuckled smugly. "Just a woman who thought she could flirt her way into your life. I accidentally went too hard on her."

She stuck out her tongue playfully at him.

Charlie only sighed, and I could hear a hint of indulgence in his voice. "Alright, but remember not to handle things yourself next time. It's too messy."

Then, he gave a casual order to Nick. "Nick, get rid of her. There's a sea nearby, isn't there?"

"Yes," Nick replied.

Lying there on the cold floor, tears streamed down my face. The man I had been married to for years didn't even recognize me. His entire focus was on Fiona. What was all of our years together worth?

Utterly broken, I felt myself lifted and placed into a bag.
