Chapter one hundred and five

Dominic's shoulders quivered, and his head drooped, leaving Kathy uncertain whether he was crying or laughing.

"What's the matter with you? Did I say something inappropriate? I admit it was my mistake to address you as 'husband,' but you were the one who brought me to this local eatery..." Kathy's words were suddenly muffled by something warm and velvety.

Her eyes widened as she gazed into Dominic's deep, dark eyes, which were alarmingly close to hers. The atmosphere felt stifling, almost suffocating.

"Say something if you have something to say. Why did you kiss me?" Kathy pushed Dominic away forcefully, pressing her thumb to her lips as if savoring the moment yet feeling aggrieved.

"Kathy, I will wait until the day you willingly acknowledge me as your husband." Dominic's eyes and eyebrows hinted at a smile as he embraced Kathy and offered her a piece of chicken.
