Chapter one hundred and seven

"It's just a casual conversation, nothing out of the ordinary," Kathy said with a smile, gesturing towards the nearby sofa. "Why don't you both take a seat? You probably don't have any pressing matters to attend to right now."

Maricela glanced at the "Upcoming Contract" on the table, exchanged a look with Lena, and slowly made her way to the sofa. With Maricela staying, Lena saw no reason to leave and joined her on the sofa.

In the room, the continuous sound of Kathy typing on the keyboard echoed, eliciting a sense of unease in Maricela and Lena. Kathy had persuaded them to stay, only to then leave them alone on the sofa.

Maricela was uncertain about Kathy's intentions. Could it be that Kathy had uncovered the incident involving the contract switch? However, Maricela was the one who had carried it out, and despite Kathy's investigation, she wouldn't find any evidence against her.
