Chapter 5; He is not my boyfriend
Aiden Scott trembled with anger, struggling to maintain a straight face. This woman had an ability to provoke him. Earlier that morning, she had made countless promises, only to break them within hours.
Was this her plan all along? To seduce him into lowering the security at their home, only to sneak off to meet her lover? It was shameless, using her body to manipulate him. To add insult to hurt, she had even dressed up and put on makeup to meet him, as if to mock his foolishness. The pain cut deep.
He couldn't deny that his decision to force this marriage upon her, due to Eldon, had been selfish. It was wrong to confine her to their home against her will. But he loved her, deeply. Yet, it was becoming increasingly clear that no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't make her love him in return.
Suppressing the pain in his heart, Aiden composed himself, turned to his assistant, and instructed, "Call the residence. Inform the guards to stand down."
Joseph, his assistant, rubbed his ear in disbelief. Had he heard correctly? If they followed through with this, that infuriating woman would be free to leave. Though he couldn't care less about her, the president did, and therefore he had to as well.
Joseph glanced at the hospital and sighed inwardly, 'Poor boy, having such a flirtatious mother.'
"Are you sure president? Madam will surely run away," Joseph asked, averting his gaze from Aiden, not wanting to overstep his boundaries and risk a scolding.
"If that's what makes her happy, then so be it. Reschedule all my meetings for tonight," the president responded calmly, a strange emotion flashing in his eyes.
"President, that will take all night," Joseph replied unhappily, his own plans for the evening now ruined due to that foolish woman's actions. He wished he could shake some sense into her. She had a good man by her side.
"I don't care," Aiden scoffed, sliding his hands into his pockets and continuing to stare out the window. The memory of her dressing up for Henry Rowan stung his heart.
He needed to distract himself from the pain.
"President, if madam is constantly cheating on you with this Yam person, why don't you cheat on her in return!"
Joseph trembled in fear at the side-eye he received from Aiden in response to his comment. He immediately bowed his head, his legs shaking. As the room temperature dropped, "Forgive me, President. My mouth tends to run away at times. I was out of line."
Aiden remained silent, striding purposefully towards the gray cabinet in his office. He retrieved a bottle of whiskey and poured himself a small glass. The warmth of the liquid eased some of his emotional turmoil as it burned down his throat.
He had been wrong to believe that she would one day love him.
He had fallen for her, but she had never reciprocated.
Five years of marriage, and she only had one man in her heart - Henry Rowan.
Taking out his phone, he searched for the contact of his divorce lawyer. They had been exchanging messages for a year now. Every time he considered divorcing her, he couldn't bring himself to follow through.
'If you love someone, let them go,' he reminded himself silently.
Exhaling deeply, he made the call.
####
Inside the hospital room, a man sat nonchalantly on the bed, swinging his feet. He pulled out a cigarette from an expensive-looking golden pack. It was Henry Rowan. His brown eyes locked with the woman at the door, pacing and muttering incoherently.
As their eyes met, she hurried over and snatched the cigarette from his mouth. "That's all you're good for, isn't it? You can't even bring that foolish girl here."
Jumping off the bed, he flexed his muscles and flashed a charming smile at Trix. "Relax, baby. Elsie is obsessed with me. She would do anything to help me, even sell her own kidneys. So just chill and take a breather."
Trix simply laughed. "You're so cocky, aren't you? I have a bad feeling about this, and you're here smoking!" She recognized the label on the pack, her face reddening with frustration. "Aren't these cigarettes a hundred dollars per pack? You're just wasting money."
Henry Rowan carelessly shrugged his shoulders, laughing. "Why wouldn't I? My girlfriend is married to a billionaire. One day, I'll smoke the most expensive cigarettes and be with the highest-paid women!"
It was true. They always used drug abuse as a means to extort millions from Elsie. She was their cash cow.
Enraged, Trix threw her hands up in frustration. "You're a lost cause! What does that bimbo see in you anyway?''
"My personality. Her ice block of a husband lacks," he said proudly, taking out two cigarettes to light this time, while Trix went into the bathroom to refresh her makeup.
Elsie knocked tentatively on Henry's hospital room door. When he answered, she was taken aback by his awful appearance.
Did she fall for this man?
Though he still looked handsome to some degree, she could see the evident results of his drug abuse. Since in this life, she still didn't know his truth she had to keep up the pretense, she looked worried, and tears sparkled in her eyes.
"Henry, what's wrong? Trix told me you had an accident...but you look healthy!" Her words trailed off as she noticed Trix strolling casually from the bathroom. Her eyes widen when they saw Elsie, and they moved to Henry, who was on his feet, smoking two cigarettes simultaneously. What had he done now?
She had to fix it. She tried to approach, but Elsie raised a hand to stop her. "You lied to me!" Elsie slapped him hard on the face, so hard her fingers hurt. She slapped him again with the back of her hand harder than the first time. Another too,it was not enough for the hatred deep rooted in her heart.
She would make them kneel and beg her one day. They will pay for ruining her family.
It was deserved. Crocodile tears ran down her eyes, and she cried, "I hate you! How dare you lie to me? I guess it was destined, since I came here to end things between us. We are over!"
Did this nuisance of a woman end their relationship?
She even slapped him?
Was this a nightmare?
Henry's brain could not register any of this. How dare this foolish woman hit him? He wanted to teach her a lesson, but Trix signaled him to calm his anger.
Putting on an apologetic façade, he threw his cigarettes into a bin and rushed to hug her but was pushed away. "It's not what you think, baby? I... I..."
"No. Don't baby me! I have realized my worth and that of my husband. Bye, Henry." Elsie ran out of the hospital, cupping her face. When she was finally out of sight, Elsie hid behind the staff door. Her plan was slowly unfolding. She smiled sweetly glancing over to her wrist watch.
Also, Trix ran behind the two lovebirds. She had to make sure they patched up. "Trixson Dale," an unknown voice called from behind. Trixson turned out of habit. Her eyes widened at the number of cameras flashing at her.
' What are they doing here?'
Chapter 6; Soul black as Coal "Trixson Dale," an unknown voice called from behind. Trixson turned out of habit. Her eyes widened at the number of cameras flashing at her. It was the paparazzi. It can't be! She had not called them yet. She had not even made her planned phone call to Aiden Scott yet. No, no! "What can you say about the news spreading about you online?" A journalist began, pushing forward a recording device. Others fixing the lightening of the cameras, or jotting down. They had received a big tip to cover one of the biggest scandal in the entertainment world. "What?" Confusion took over her delicate features. Her chest rose and fell continuously. Subconsciously , she clutched her pink Louis Vuitton sheath dress. What news? It made her scared. Did they see her with Henry Rowan? That imbécile! It would ruin her career if she was caught with such a man. It made her panic. Sweat formed around her fringe bangs. More lights flash, as they continued "Are
Chapter 7; I will clear your name Inside the luxurious BMW, Boris tended to Trix with utmost care and devotion as she laid on the lush black leather seat that enveloped her form. Though a muscled figure, Boris gentle touch and worshipping green eyes betrayed the softness within. As he dabbed her porcelain skin with the finest silk, he could not help but admire her stunning, effortless beauty. His only wish was to ease her pain. She was indeed perfect. Suddenly, he heard her breath out softly as she faked regaining consciousness. "Miss Dale, are you awake?" Fluttering her eyes open, she put on a pitiful look and pretended to be weak. She begged, "Water, please give me water" "I will." In the most gentle actions he fed her water. Trixson took three sips before bopping her head to signal denial. If she talked less, Boris would believe her act. "Those reporters are so heartless! They kept up pestering you didn't they noticed your pale face. Who told the
Chapter 8; You don't deserve me! "We are here, ma'am," Jerry reminded Elsie, who seemed lost for a moment. She shook her head at his words and made a weird sound. The truth was, Elsie was no longer present in the car but rather in the past. For she remembered the first time she visited this place. Her heart sunk. Flashback ___ Four years ago That day, crimson and rose blossoms dotted the eastern edge, bursting forth like branches heavy with ripe cherries. In her bedroom, Elsie sang nursery rhymes as she bathed her little boy. A joyful smile sprang to her lips at his every smile. "You are so good looking, my son. You took all your features from your dad while I did all the work," she pretended to be upset, pouting as she poured warm water on his body to rinse him. By her side stood an elderly lady in what appeared to be a school uniform but was not. Wrinkles aged her, and a smile spread on her thin lips, it was Cavia "Not true, ma'am. Young maste
Chapter 9; I am his wife As they stepped out of the car, Elsie was a little hesitant. Everything she said and did during that time was all under Trickson's influence. Elsie felt wronged. Nevertheless, she was going to teach those two a great lesson they would never forget. Thinking about this brought a smile to her saddened face. As they passed through security, she realized how much things had changed. There was now a fountain at the center and beautiful trees planted around. Everything looked unfamiliar and strange. The company had grown to many heights after her last visit; it now spoke of so much wealth and hard work. One thing did not change though—the security was so tight that one could not sneak out even a needle. However, at one glance, she was recognized by one of the security guards and was sent in. Elsie was left in awe as she strolled in; it was incredibly busy. She had never seen people work at that speed, hence she hurried up her steps and tried
Chapter 10: I refuse to be bullied "What do you think you are doing?!!" A cold voice rang from behind. Seeing the man stroll over in such powerful strides, Sophia straightened out her clothing and put on a professional look. She became calm, "President, the lady is quite difficult. She only insists on seeing you. I told her you were in a meeting, but she later started to harass me, so I was only trying to defend myself." "Why are you allowing such people to bully you?" Assuming Aiden was talking to her, Sophia couldn't help but blush. She lowered her head and apologized, "President, I am sorry. I will refuse to be bullied next time. She even said she was your wife?" However, Elsie's next actions were like bullets raining at her heart and dreams. "Hubby!" Elsie dashed toward Aiden, stealing a short kiss from him. His pupils widened at her actions, making his suspicions rise; hence, he did not kiss her back. Even so, his possessiveness got over him, and he wrappe
Chapter 11; Why didn't you tell me in my past life? ### In the office, Elsie sat on the green couch with Aiden sitting on the glass table facing her. His expression was indecipherable and his lips thin. Elsie could not help but admire his well-chiseled jawline and beautiful grey eyes. There was something about his neatly combed golden brown hair and his level of neatness that was beyond her understanding. There was a single thing out of place. He was truly perfect. Too perfect for her. "Ouch!" Elsie hissed sharply as he cleaned the wound with normal saline. Not because it hurt, but rather to get his attention. As expected, his grey eyes found hers and they softened. He reduced his strength, wiping it with a dry swap, "You should have thought of the pain before letting that girl bully you." Pouting her lips, Elsie tried to pull her hand away but he stopped her. She feigned anger, "You aren't romantic at all. Other men have suggested kissing my wounds to make th
Chapter 12: I am not satisfied yet Joseph Lawrence was efficient. He planned the entire schedule perfectly, with each board meeting leading to another with little breaks in between. Everyone found it exhausting, and they all secretly cursed the woman behind this change. Meanwhile, Aiden Scott sat wearing a cold expression on his face, listening attentively to what was said and even adding suggestions. He seemed to be in a better mood than before. The temperature in the room was now favorable for them to breathe. Could her presence be the reason for his change? Joseph shook his head sadly; the president had a witness, and it was that flirtatious and shameless woman. In his inward rant, he blurted out, "The president has bad taste!" "What did you say?" Aiden questioned icily. "Nothing. I meant this presentation... it is not up to your taste. Your usual taste is one of a kind," he mumbled, scratching his jaw. The look on Aiden's face was too frightful;
Chapter 13: I Promise to Work Hard "Why? I am not satisfied yet," his gruff voice pierced through the silence, as he pinned her to the bed. "..." Elsie's cheeks turned pink in an instant. Suddenly, she was tongue-tied. They were in the office, not at home. How could they do this? She nervously licked her lips. "No, Aiden, we should not--" "We should not what?" Slowly, he positioned open-mouthed kisses, trailing along the outline of her diamond-shaped face. Although he was barely doing anything, Elsie's heart pounded hard with every movement. She swallowed a moan as he bit a sensitive part of her neck. She pleaded, "In the office, it is unprofessional, and I don't think you are an unprofessional man. What will your employees think?" "You deny me?" His force grew stronger, his grey eyes filled with desire. Immediately, she froze at his accusation. He was getting things wrong. "No, no. My body and heart are all yours, but--" A light laugh escaped h

"Why do you think the witches attacked us yesterday?" Lyra inquired softly, her voice echoing in the marble halls, as she pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose. "What do you think?" Kael retorted, subtle anger lacing his voice. He glared at her as if she had asked him to bite off his finger and increased his steps. Ly

Author's AppreciationI started writing this earlier without this novel being finished, because I wanted to say something from the heart and not rushed. That doesn't mean my other appreciations are not from the heart. They are!You see, I have never been good with words and not always known how to respond to messages, emails, and so on. I am a freaking walking disaster, a one-woman circus clown kind of show, but I say this with much confidence: when I read a book and I laugh hard, feel hate, dislike, and cringe at moments which genuinely become a part of me, even if just for a time - it fills in my heart. I am overwhelmed by such talent to aid me grapple with my own emotions and go over every scene. Feeling satisfied and still wishing for more. Looking at you, Ashley Peston, you perfect angelic wordsmith. And I want that to be the same feeling my readers get from
Epilogue Elsie's POV Six months later. I got a call from the prison, concerning Trixson's plea to have me visit her. I should have said no. However, I needed to hear what she wanted to say. Trixson had been sentenced with a double life sentence for the murders she had been involved in. Boris had been given ten years for being an accomplice in Henry's homicide. Trixson had Boris sneak into the rehab disguised as an operating nurse and provided him the drugs Henry overdosed on. After this, Boris' conscience could not bear the burden of the secret. Hence, he came to me. He had to, after I provided him photos of Trixson and Director Lee's affair. All that helped take off the rose-colored glasses he wore aroun
Chapter 137: I have you Aiden stepped out of the prison gate, blinking in the bright sunlight. He had dreamed of this moment for what felt like an eternity, and yet, it still felt surreal. He was finally free. As he looked around, his eyes scanned the crowded streets, searching for a familiar face. And then, he saw her. Elsie stood out from the crowd, her flaming red hair shining like a flame. She wore a bright smile, and her eyes sparkled with tears, as she waved at him. Aiden's heart skipped a beat as he made his way towards her. Elsie still looked as beautiful as she did the first time he saw her at the Scott mansion. She wore a knee-length red dress that clung to her skin, exposing her heavy curves. As a result of the pregnancy, Elsie had gained weight, and her chest and ass had grown bigger too. She was
Chapter 136: Prison Life Aiden's POV The courtroom had been filled with a sense of tension and anticipation. The judge, a middle-aged woman with a stern expression, sat at the bench. I stood before her, my eyes fixed on Elsie, who had been crying non-stop. The prosecutor stood opposite me, arms crossed. The judge announced, "After careful consideration of the evidence and the severity of the crime, I hereby sentence you to 7 years in prison for withholding information and obstruction of justice in relation to the double homicide case." My eyes had widened for a brief moment, but I accepted the sentence with a nod. I knew I deserved this punishment for my actions. The judge continued, "While I acknowledge your cooperation with the authorities and your expression o
Chapter 135; Promise me Two months later. On the day of Aiden's trial, after he had refused to file for bail, Elsie kept Eldon entertained by playing Legos when Aunt Rina walked in. The little lad ran to hug Rina, and she kissed him on the cheek. "Aunt Rina, where have you been? I've missed you," he exclaimed, his dimples creeping up as he smiled. Leaning in, she explained in a sweet voice, "I was busy, boy. But I'm back now..." Elsie, leaning against the counter in the kitchen, found their encounter very cute. She sometimes envied Eldon's relationship with Rina. A huge grin curled up on Eldon's lips, and he raised his arms, shouting out of ecstasy, "Yay, we'll all play together!" "We will," Rina confirmed, nodding her head. She reached out to touch the boy's cheek and pinched it fondly. "You should go to your room and wait for me there while I talk to your mom." The kid threw his arms up in happiness, spread them wide like wings, and ran out, making plane
