CHAPTER NINETY-FOUR

LISA

I stood in front of the mirror, admiring myself and making faces. I would be the Luna soon. It wouldn't take so long before River saw that Elara was useless in this packed house and in his life.

I let out a chuckle and continued to turn around, checking myself out.

I heard a soft knock on the door and walked towards the door, dragging my feet. I hissed when I saw the guard standing outside the door.

"Why are you here?" I demanded harshly.

"Alpha River has asked to speak to you in the throne room right away."

My heart sank for a second, and a smile played out on my lips. River would always shove me aside whenever I asked to speak to him. Now, he was inviting me over without even thinking about it.

I walked out of my room. I was well dressed in a short fitted flair gown. I met Ella in the hallway.

"Where are you heading, Lisa?" She inquired.

I turned to her with a smile.

"River asked to speak to me," I said. "Maybe he finally wants to talk about the chil
