"T-That was a good joke," I commented and faked a laugh even though she didn't sound like one.

"I wasn't joking, Chandria."

"Come, I'll show you how excited they were all to meet you." Elysa gently held my arms and dragged me next to the transparent glass window."

There I saw that everyone was dancing and having fun. I even saw Everett drinking and laughing with his men.

"Was Everett really the Alpha of this pack?" It slipped out of my mouth quickly when it was supposed to be just a question in my mind. Though with how he plays with his men, he doesn't look like an Alpha with great authority to me.

"Yeah, he is. He reminds me of his father, they treat us like we were on the same level." Elysa's voice brightened up, and when I glanced at her, her eyes were glimmering.

"Alpha Everett was very kind, and he'd always choose peace over war, for the sake of his people."
