Looking away, a bitter smile escaped my lips.

"But that agreement saved Celestine's life."

"If there's someone who should be bailed out, it was her. Not me, or my twin sister. We deserve this after all."

"You lost a great Alpha." I continued, pertaining to Alpha Priam's father.

"It was unexpected, and we're all shocked by that sudden news. But we can't prevent things that are destined to happen."

Keeping my mouth shut, no right words could tame the guilt I have right now. It's all my fault.

"I should go now." She breaks the silence between us.

"Thank you..?," I uttered once again, waiting for her to say her name.

She only smiled at me before heading her way out of the room, leaving me with Celestine alone. A tear that I'd been refraining from falling finally glided down to my cheeks.
