“Are you serious about divorcing that asshole?” Gloria, Allison's best friend, asked her for the umpteenth time.

She couldn't believe that Allison was divorcing her darling husband. She was surprised when Allison suggested that they go to the club to drink because Allison isn't the type who goes to clubs.

Gloria felt so sorry for her best friend. She knew how much Allison loved Charles. It's just sad that Charles had to hurt her this way.

“You deserve better, sweetie. How could he cheat on you? With your half-sister?” Gloria roared.

“What will you do about your stupid half-sister?” She inquired again.

“I will make sure I make her pay for what she did, not only her. Both of them will pay dearly.” Allison replied to Gloria as she gulped the wine in her glass cup.

She couldn't tell Gloria that she was killed and reborn. She knew how reckless Gloria was gonna act.

She sighted a familiar figure walking towards their table. It was Charles.

“What's he doing here?” Gloria asked with her brows furrowed and jaw clenched. Her hazel blue eyes turned blue in anger.

“I guess he has received the divorce papers.” Allison grinned.

Charles slammed his fists on the table and growled, “Allison, what were the divorce papers about? And why are you not answering your calls?”

“Is there anything you do not understand in the divorce papers? If there is, you should reach out to my lawyer. Why bother calling me?” Allison retorted, her voice etched with disdain.

“Shouldn't we resolve this issue amicably? It's just a misunderstanding, trust me.” Charles snarled.

“A misunderstanding? Cheating with your wife's sister? Did you just call that a misunderstanding?” Gloria sprang up to her feet and yelled, her eyes widened in anger.

This man is shameless. Was he planning to keep two sisters by his side?

“Talk of the devil,” Gloria smirked, seeing Bella coming towards their table.

Charles wanted to defend himself but he fell short of words when he jerked his head and saw Bella behind him. He had clearly asked her to stay where she was and not to find him. Why did she have to ruin his plans now?

He believed Allison loved him so much that she would change her mind if he was able to cajole her for a while.

“I never realized just how low you could sink, Charles. You had better sign the divorce papers and meet me at the courthouse tomorrow morning by 10:00.” Allison pouted.

Charles grabbed her wrist tightly, his eyes brewing a storm. “I am not divorcing you, at least not now. What will happen to the company if you leave? The investment you are working on, what will happen to it?” He threw a series of questions at her angrily.

Allison winced in pain, “Charles, you are hurting me. Can you take your hands off my wrist?”

“Talk to me, you've not answered my questions.”

“Well, your company's affairs do not concern me anymore. You can ask your dumb mistress to take over from where I stopped. Isn't she capable of handling it?” A sarcastic grin curved on Allison’s lips, knowing that Bella was too dumb to handle his company affairs.

Charles gritted his teeth and tightened his grip on her wrist. “How dare you call her a mistress? She's your fucking sister for pity's sake.”

“My half-sister to be precise,” Allison smirked right in his face.

She felt so angry at herself for enduring this stupid so-called husband's attitude all in the name of love. Why was she blind to see his real intentions all this while?

“Charles, let go of my wrist right now before I lose my mind.” She growled, her indifference palpable.

Charles saw the hostility and indifference in her eyes, and couldn't shake off the feelings that she had changed, but he wasn't ready to lose his grip on her wrist.

With her other hand, Allison slapped Bella who was standing beside Charles on her face. The slap was so hard that she stumbled on the ground.

“Did you see that? I will slap her again if you don't let go of my wrist right now.” Allison bellowed.

With bloodshot eyes, Charles shouted, “Why do you have to slap her? She's your sister, have you forgotten that?”

“She's your mistress, your fucking mistress. I don't have a sister who will sleep with my husband.” Allison retorted.

“I'm sorry Allison, it wasn't Charles' fault. I was wrong for seducing him, please don't divorce him. I'll make up for what I did.” Bella said maliciously.

If Allison hadn't known her, she would have believed she was wronged at that moment. But she was just putting up a show to earn herself the role of snow white.

All eyes were on them at the moment and Allison does not care what they think or say. The only person she cares about right now is herself. She had cared enough for irrelevant people in the past.

Charles gritted his teeth and growled,

“Apologize to her right now.”

Allison laughed sarcastically, “You must be kidding right? Why should I apologize to her?”

“You slapped her, she did nothing wrong, Allison,” Charles said, clenching his fist tightly.

“Oh! Since you don't know, let me tell you now. Being a mistress is a big sin, so she deserved the slap and even more.” Allison smirked in his face again.

Charles raised his hand angrily and his palm was about to fall on Allison's face when a large hand grabbed him from behind.

“Are you crazy? You wanna hit a woman?” The man asked angrily.

His voice ignited a warmth that spread through Allison’s body. She looked up at the man and damn, he was so hot in his black custom-made suit.

His hazel-green eyes are compelling with a unique blend of golden brown around the pupil. They hold a deep, captivating intensity, drawing her near with every glance.

“Don't meddle in our business, she's my wife,” Charles yelled.

“Your ex-wife.” Allison corrected.

“I think your wife over there, needs your attention.” The man said, pointing at Bella who was still lying on the floor.

He gives off an inexplicable aura of confidence and allure, his voice smooth and captivating, drawing Allison in with every word he speaks.

“Who are you to meddle in my business?” Charles asked.
