Chapter 4-His new bodyguard

“ARE YOU okay now?” Alexander asked Tibor when he opened his eyes.

Tibor smiled at the young man; he was already saddened that he couldn’t accompany him all the time from now on.

“You should be resting; all your wounds haven’t healed yet.” He was not happy with Tibor’s current state. He was still in the hospital because his wound had developed an infection.

“How are you? I heard you had a fever last night.”

He nodded, then closed his eyes. He didn’t know who took care of him. He could only recall that someone bothered to wipe his body. He was certain it wasn’t a doctor or a nurse. His fever was so high that he couldn’t even manage to open his eyes last night.

“Young Master, please take care of yourself. From this day on, I won’t be able to take care of you, so please don’t be stubborn.”

Alexander opened his eyes, glaring daggers at Tibor. “You don’t have to protect me because I can take care of myself. But you can’t leave; no one else can take your place!”

“I’m sorry, Young Master, but you need a stronger guard to prevent you from being put in danger again.”

“It wasn’t your fault! How many times do I have to repeat myself?!” Alexander lashed out. He groaned in pain after raising his voice.

“I’m the one who wants him to leave and settle in peace!”

Alexander turned to the person who spoke; his eyes showed signs of going berserk at any moment. He didn’t notice the man sitting complacently on the room’s sofa. “And who are you to decide on this matter?”

“I’m his son, so I get to tell him when to quit his job.” he said, his voice calm, cold, and solid like ice. His eyes didn’t hold even an ounce of fear as he gazed at Alexander, reciprocating the latter’s hostility.

Behind Alexander’s tightly closed mouth were gritted teeth. He absolutely didn’t like Tibor’s son. He was sure that his father had something to do with him. Even if he refused this disagreeable man’s service, he couldn’t get rid of him. But he knew one way to get Dylan to voluntarily leave. He gradually eased up on his brilliant plan.

“Well, let’s see how much you can endure.”

Dylan’s face turned even more grim, and he didn’t like Alexander’s smile. He had already guessed what he would do to get him to give up on the burdensome job placed upon him. There wasn’t a challenge he had ever given up on. He feared no one either, and he would gladly let that man know.

Tibor was glad that Alexander had no more objections. It was Dylan’s job now to bear with the arrogant young man. He excused himself, leaving Dylan inside.

A female nurse entered the room just as Tibor had left. She was beautiful and fair-skinned. He couldn’t help glancing at her chest. Despite the outer clothes covering her body, the color of her inner clothes was somehow visible.

Dylan followed where Alexander’s enticed eyes were staring. The fabric of the nurse’s uniform was thin, so he could see what the other man was seeing. When he turned his eyes back to Alexander, the latter was looking at him and smirking. He raised his eyebrows and looked at the woman again.

Alexander felt mad at Dylan’s action. He was irritated because he seemed to fancy the nurse in front of them.

The nurse smiled at Dylan as she prepared the equipment to clean the patient’s body.

“You can go now,” said Alexander.

“I already saw your body last night, so don’t be shy. Anyway, I have to watch what the nurse does to you,” Dylan replied dismissively.

Suddenly, the smile on the nurse’s lips faded, and her self-confidence decreased because of what Dylan said.

Alexander’s jaw dropped. He lost some face in front of the nurse. What will the woman think, that he couldn’t make his subordinate follow him? How could he do what he wanted if someone was watching? His eyes narrowed in annoyance when he realized something that man said. So he was the one who took care of him last night. That was why he felt a strange feeling that he rarely felt. And he didn’t want that feeling as much as possible.

“Don’t pay attention to him, just clean me up. I’ve been sticky for a while now.” Alexander arrogantly ordered the nurse.

He keenly monitored the nurse while he stood seemingly casually. He was suspicious of even the thing she was about to use for cleaning Alexander’s wound. “What is this?”

The nurse paused to touch the hem of the patient’s clothes to take them off.

Dylan took the white liquid in a small container. He saw earlier that the nurse mixed it with the water to be used to wipe Alexander’s body.

“That will help make the patient feel better,” the nurse explained.

Alexander just let Dylan do what he was doing. He knew he was just doing his job, but he noticed even the smallest details. He saw him sniff the medicine in his hand.

“Leave this thing here; I want to make sure if it’s really good for the patient.” Dylan glanced furtively at the nurse, and he caught the panic in her eyes.

“It’s up to you, Sir.” The nurse gave a short answer and continued what she was doing.

“Wait a minute!” He stopped the woman’s hand before she could apply the cotton to Alexander’s wound.

“What the hell, Dylan? Let her finish what she’s doing so I can go to rest!” Alexander growled at the young man.

“I still don’t know what this liquid really is, so she can’t use it on your wound. Remember, you had an infection, and if I hadn’t been prompt last night, you might’ve had more than a convulsion.”

“But the patient’s wound needs to be cleaned, Sir.” the nurse reasoned.

Alexander gazed at the nurse with suspicion. Dylan had a point, even though he didn’t want to admit it to himself. When the woman looked away from him, he ordered Dylan. “Call my doctor.”

The nurse panicked and dropped the cotton and other cleaning materials she was holding. “If you don’t want my service, I will leave.”

Dylan tried to grab the woman’s arm to stop her, but her movement was faster. She immediately picked up the small basin filled with water and splashed it on him.

“Damn! Dylan, are you okay?” Alexander asked. He tried to stand up, but he just hurt himself.

“Don’t move!” He told Alexander before hurriedly going after the woman who had already left the door.

Troy and Dante were startled as they watched the nurse who came out of the room crying. They thought that their Young Master had molested her, so they let her get away. But when the door opened again and Dylan showed up, they were alarmed. It looked like something got to his eyes and he couldn’t open them properly. His clothes were also wet.

“Go after that woman!” Dylan ordered the two while pointing his hand at the nurse who was running out of the building.

The two quickly obeyed and chased after the woman. They could tell that the woman was not normal; she was running so fast. They even caught up with her outside the building, but a car suddenly appeared and fired guns at them.

“F*ck!” Dante and Troy exclaimed at the same time as they crouched down to avoid the gunshots.

Dylan quickly fired a gun at the car in which the woman was riding. They retaliated as the vehicle drove away from that area.

“Are you all right?” Dylan asked the two.

“Yes, I’m sorry, we have been careless. We didn’t think that that woman might have an accomplice waiting outside,” Troy answered as he dusted his clothes off.

“Clear the area!” Dylan ordered before rushing back inside the hospital. A guard was left outside Alexander’s room. But like his father had instructed, he should not entrust the safety of the Young Master to others.

When Dylan entered the room, Alexander’s private doctor was already there and was examining the medicine used by the perpetrator.

“You’re right, there is something strange about this medicine. Fortunately, your assistant had been alert.”

“I thought the nurse you entrusted to take care of me was trustworthy?” Alexander angrily blamed the doctor. He couldn’t accept that he was indebted to Dylan now.

“I’m sorry, Young Master, I didn’t think the enemy might use her to harm you.” The doctor looked calm, but he was really nervous.

“Get out!”

Dylan immediately approached the doctor when he got yelled at by Alexander. “I’ll take care of him.”

The doctor bowed his head and dejectedly left his patient’s room.

Alexander glared at the closed door before turning his gaze at another direction.

“Let me clean your wound,” Dylan said in a calm tone. He couldn’t be rough on him now because the man was in a bad mood.

“Dante will do it!”

Dylan released a deep breath before approaching Alexander. He didn’t listen to him, and instead, he removed the blanket covering his body without asking. Alex had a nice body with firm abs. He also had abs; his muscles were even bigger than his master’s. He first wiped his neck with his own handkerchief. He paused for a moment when his hand reached his chest.

Alexander cussed internally several times when Dylan’s palm touched his skin. He felt even more feverish with that man around.

Dylan slowly lifted his gaze and locked eyes with  Alexander. His hand started moving again whilst not breaking eye contact with the other man. Alexander was probably using a kind of hypnotism on him, and he didn’t know what it was, but he liked seeing the look he had right now, maybe even a bit too much. He liked the vulnerability he was displaying. He wanted to dominate this arrogant man. He wanted to—“crap, what am I thinking?” he stopped himself from thinking more.

“Are you gonna tend to me or fancy me?”

Dylan suddenly averted his eyes and continued what he was supposed to do. He thought he was the one in control now, but his fellow was good at taking it back. That arrogance of his again—he really knew how to get to him.

Alexander smirked, apparently pleased with Dylan’s reaction. No Eve or Adam had ever escaped his charm. Dylan would be no exception.
