Chapter 3-Rudeness

LAURENZO SMILED almost imperceptibly as he watched Dylan. He made the right decision. Only that man could match his son.

“Young Master, please forgive Dylan’s rudeness.”

“Who did this to you?” Alexander asked instead.

“I’m sorry, Young Master, I acted without your consent. Maybe I’m too old for this job and I can’t protect you anymore.” Tibor said, his face remorseful.

“Don’t say that, only a buffalo gets old! And even though you are already weak, no one else can take your place. I can handle myself and I don’t need your strength to—”

“Do you not see yourself to be saying that you don’t need a strong person to watch over you anymore?” Laurenzo said sarcastically.

“It’s none of your business!” He snarled at his father.

“I’m still your father. Besides, if your mother was still alive, she wouldn’t want someone like Tibor looking after you now. You know your safety is important to her.”

“Mommy’s not like that! She entrusted me to Tibor, she wouldn’t like anyone else to look after me!”

“That’s bullshit! Back then things were different! Tibor was still strong then so your mother chose him for you!”

Tibor was almost deafened by their exchange of yells. Before things get even more heated, he pressed the red button next to him. The guard outside immediately came in, along with a nurse and the doctor.

Even though there were other people around, the father-and-son were still staring each other down. If they were both given a knife, they might attack one another.

“Dad, what’s going on?” Dylan asked worriedly as he approached his father. He didn’t finish smoking outside when he found out that there was a commotion inside the room.

“I’m fine, son. Please, get them away from each other.”

Dylan’s gaze followed where his father was looking. He hadn’t noticed the dark aura around the room before entering. He now understood why his father had pressed the button. He quickly stepped and approached Alexander.

“What are you doing?!” Alexander snarled at Dylan as he simply pushed his wheelchair out of the room.

“You need to rest and so does my father.” He answered formally, not minding his bad temper.

“Moron! Who are you to decide for me?!” He violently slapped Dylan’s hand that was holding the back of his wheelchair. But he didn’t even budge, making him feel weak, and so he got even more pissed.

“Leave me alone, f*cker!” He yelled at Dylan again and he used his strength even though it was difficult to move his hand.

“If you don’t stop, I’m going to carry you into your room!” Dylan threatened as he got fed up with Alexander’s fussing.

Troy’s and Dante’s eyes widened and they looked at each other. It felt like they were back to being teenagers again. At that time, the four of them were good friends, but those two were always fighting. If their Young Master was stubborn, Dylan was even more so. Why did they say that? Because he was not at all afraid that his adoptive father may be punished or fired if he didn’t put up with Alexander.

Alexander exhaled several times to calm down. The reason why he didn’t like Tibor’s son was because he was too daring. He was the only one who treated him like this, would not submit to him. He didn’t want to lose, but he couldn’t do anything now because he was weak due to injuries. If he wasn’t in this condition he would have beaten Dylan. He wanted to show him that he was no longer the youth he knew before. He knew well that the man would do as he said and he would lose face once he did.

“Dante!”

The name’s owner quickly presented himself to Alexander when he called him. “Yes, Young Master?”

“After this man gets out, make sure he can’t get near me again while I’m still recovering!”

“As the Young Master wishes!” Dante answered with a bow.

“Tch, you still haven’t changed.” Dylan teased and quickly brought the young man into his room.

Alexander ignored his mocking remark. He called Dante again to help him get up to move to the bed. But he was shocked when Dylan suddenly picked him up.

Dante’s and Troy’s eyes widened again when they saw what Dylan had done. He just carried their Young Master like a woman and moved him to the bed.

“What the hell, Dylan?!” Alexander fumed in protest, his fiery eyes glaring daggers at the man.

“Get strong enough to take your revenge on me.” Dylan smirked and touched Alexander’s head to mess with his hair.

“Damn you, f*cker!” He shook the hand that was tapping his head.

Instead of cringing, Dylan smiled and firmly held one of the young man’s hands. He slowly brought his face closer to him, deliberately gazing at his well-shaped lips.

“Jerk, what are you doing?” He sneered at Dylan again. But that was only a mask to hide what he was truly feeling inside.

Troy and Dante watched what was going on with their mouths agape. Dante even swallowed his own saliva when Dylan’s gaze dropped to Alexander’s lips. Troy turned his head, but his eyes were still watching the scene, he was already anticipating something in his imagination.

An annoying smile appeared on Dylan’s lips when he noticed the jut of Alexander’s throat bobbing.

He just wanted to silence the young man because he kept cussing.

Alexander couldn’t push Dylan because the latter had his hold on his left hand. His right hand was useless because it was injured. He wanted to punch his face when he saw that smile he had always hated. He could not fight physically, so he thought of another way.

“Did you think you can scare me with that lame style of yours?” He sneered. It was his turn to smirk when Dylan’s expression changed.

Dylan’s face had turned grim as he distanced himself from the young man. The tip of his lips twitched as he bit the inside of it. He was not clueless about what Alexander was doing. He knew the man was bisexual, so he couldn’t scare him like that.

Troy and Dante fixed their postures, both were secretly disappointed. They thought there was romance brewing between the two.

Alexander was pleased with Dylan’s reaction. He was sure that the man would not want to be near him anymore.

Without saying a word, Dylan turned his back on him and walked past Troy and Dante.

“Send yourselves out now!” Alexander shooed the two curious people. He didn’t have to hide anything from them because they already knew everything he did.

Dylan returned to his father’s room, the chairman was no longer there.

“Dylan, did you return him to his room properly?” Tibor asked the young man with concern.

“I didn’t just carelessly drop him on the bed, if that’s what you’re worried about.”

Tibor sighed and looked pleadingly at the young man. “Son, you and Alexander have both matured. He is only like that because he is rebelling against his father.”

“I’ll accept the Chairman’s job offer only because you asked me to, Dad. But I can’t promise that we’ll get along well as his bodyguard and assistant.” Dylan said.

“But try to be patient with him, son. Alexander is actually kind and I wouldn’t last long at work if it weren’t for him.”

Dylan nodded to his father, despite himself, to ease his worries. If the Chairman had not talked him into it, he wouldn’t have agreed with his father’s request. The Chairman promised not to interfere in how he would treat his son. He only wanted to ensure the safety of his son and prevent him from making troubling mistakes. He thought he could control Alexander because he was not afraid of him.

“Dylan, one of the things you need to do is make Alexander fall in love with a woman. Don’t let a man get close to him when he’s drunk.”

“Didn’t you consider that I might become that man’s victim?”

Tibor grinned and looked at his son, as if trying to read his mind. When he averted his gaze, the smile on his lips widened.

“Dad, I’m straight and have no intention of hitting on my kind!” Dylan cringed.

“I didn’t say anything. But you can see how much Alexander had changed. He’s bisexual, and also domineering and arrogant. He can play with men and women alike.”

“Well, I’m not like that, Dad.”

Tibor smiled meaningfully and did not try to argue with his son. Dylan was only 8 when he found him on the streets. He raised him like his own. He was the same age as Alexander. They had always been each other’s frenemies because they both liked to boost their own egos. Dylan insisted on studying in the province, and that was how they got separated.
