Chapter 67

I thought working would help me divert my mind from these repeated nightmares rendering me unable to relax.

With restlessness at my peak, I hoped to pay all my attention to my jobs so it could help but to no avail. My mind was all on him.

His words, his tears, his pain, everything about him was worsening me.

“Catch him!” Jax called, running after the rogue we were hunting down. Taking out my arrow, I jumped through the branches, aiming at the wolf’s leg.

“On it!”

We were ordered to capture him alive and then torture him for information.

“Don’t kill him!” Jax yelled, taking the front to cover and stop him.

“I know!”

I was about to release the arrow and hurt his leg so he wouldn't run away but then the anguish I was running away from surged through my veins.

‘I am in all your dreams, of revenge, of a happy life, of forever, I am always there.’

But a pain shot through my chest, recalling his voice, distressing me beyond my ability to bear.

“Aagh! Fuck!”

Groaning in pain, my head began
