EDNA POV

I stepped back from where I was as I kept on staring at the man in front of me.

I didn't want to lose his whereabouts in the room because I didn't trust him.

Between the two of them, he was the worst. In fact, he was one of them who wished me dead.

Alpha Ansel made it clear earlier when I fainted.

Smelling something like blood, I quickly dropped my eyes around his body but then, I felt a little relieved that he was okay.

Was there a possibility that I might have shot him?

Could it have been him? Besides, my mind was all over the place when Alpha Ansel appeared from nowhere.

In the background at that moment, I could feel the presence of the other figure. Unfortunately, I didn't concentrate as my stupid aim was to bargain for freedom, something I knew I wouldn't be given by Alpha Ansel.

No! I quickly tried to suppress that thought away. I didn't want to believe that I might have shot this huge man in front of me.

Well, I still didn't care much. I wasn't a heartless girl but I k

He also was aware! It seemed like the rumours of me being an unknown creature were all over. But the way this man said it made me feel pain in my heart.I also didn't like to stay here, I wanted to go away from here.“I also don't want to stay here, Amos or commander and you can do me a favour of telling your brother to let me go and I will do that joyfully…”“I don't think that is true.” He shot out, causing me to look at him.“Who wouldn't want to get favours from my brother? The Alpha-King of the werewolf world?” My mouth fell agape, my heart trembled a littl4 and I felt a chill down my spine.“Wow, don't tell me you didn't know. Are you naive to know something like that?” A pinch settled in my heart as I avoided his red eyes.Yes, I didn't know if he was the Alpha-King but I also thought he wasn't just any wolf plus the way he was huge with the way he was carrying himself and the aura he exuded. But even though I didn't know, that didn't give him the right to insult me.“My apolog

The man didn't care how I felt about this. All the shocks and surprises I went through, didn't matter to him as we turned to the other side of the huge packhouse. He told me to carry all my belongings but I had none.Since I returned to this pack, I had never changed my clothes.I only wash my underwear during the night and in the morning, I would wear it. It had been my habit. I still had the same clothes I came here with from the human world. Nobody cared about that.Maybe I was his slave after all, so it didn't matter what I wore. “A-Alpha Ansel!” I called but my voice was betraying me. I was shaking when the words came out of my mouth.“Hmm.’ He hummed as he slowed down his pace.“W-why suddenly you want me to serve him?” I continued. By now, my head was already dropped on the floor. The man had already turned to me and the way my heart was beating I could guess he was gawking at my face.Stepping closer to me, I stepped back.“I don't know what you did to me but I don't think

Was I no longer a slave in this pack? Has he changed his complicated thinking head already?I never understood this man. He was more complex than I thought But that was not my main concern. My main concern was on the two people that were gazing at the ground avoiding Alpha Ansel's eyes and also mine. What if they spitted out everything that I had done to them? That was my question since I realised that they were in the room.I wished to disappear as I tried to maintain balance on the floor with the fact that I was carrying Jack in my arms. I couldn't afford to fall right now.Plus I didn't want them to think that I was afraid of them so I tried to maintain my composure.“Introduce yourselves.” Alpha Ansel's voice made me hurry and stood beside him. I didn't want him to suspect something. But their cheeks were still full.Realising that, I intertwined my fingers on both my hands so that Alpha Ansel wouldn't ask them. That's what I did each time I was in trouble. In my previous pack,

ANSEL POVEach time I looked at her mesmerised and cute little face, I went wild.It had become hard to avoid her especially now that she would be around Jack most of the time.I couldn't resist Jack's love for her. I knew for a fact that I would be selfish if I didn't allow him to spend time with her.The first time I took him from her, I realised how hurt he was.At that time, I decided to ignore his feelings because of my own personal needs. The second time the feelings were emessed and I could see hate starting to build in Jack about me and I didn't want that.Jack had never hated me before.Despite all the things I did, Jack thought of me as an amazing person, in fact, he liked to compliment me saying how tough and courageous I was in my work and I didn't want to take that away from her.Plus Jack was so important to me also, for reasons that were well known to me so I didn't want him to think of me otherwise for now. That was why I decided to let Edna be her company. Actually, s

“I am scared, brother.” Mandy continued, causing me to look at her.“You don't have to, they won't do anything to you,” I reassured her as I tried to calm myself down.I was already alert when Mandy mentioned his men.I thought they had come for her here and I wouldn't spare them if they did.“Okay.” “You trust, Ramon, don't you?” Mandy nodded and followed Ramon to the direction of the entrance.“Mandy,” I suddenly called again, earning her attention.“Yes?”“I trust that you won't tell anyone else about this.” I warned indirectly and Mandy nodded.I knew she wouldn't say a thing but the fact that she had known, alerted me.No one knew about this business except me and Amos.Even Mandy wasn't aware but now, she had found out about it which alerted me more.Earlier when she was talking about it, I couldn't show her that I was shocked and embarrassed that she was now aware of something that I didn't tell her nor was I interested in her knowing it.But I was.Ramon was in my best list o

EDNA POVIt had been two days since Alpha Ansel gave me the authority to look after his son Jack. And also two days since the last time I saw him.The place had become unusually calm. The two maids who were to serve us were doing their job nicely that what I thought.Everything was just too good to be true. The maids have been surprisingly nice to me these days but I should know better. My heart kept on telling me that something big was coming and I had to watch my back.Leaving Jack in his room playing with his toys, I decided to make myself more comfortable than I should.Since I started ‘to take care of Jack’ things have been good to me.I was able to go out with him and play around with him.I was more than just someone who was taking care of him.He was my friend and the more we spent time together, the more I got attached to the boy.But my mind had never settled since Alpha Ansel disappeared from the pack. All I wanted was to know more about him and I hadn't gotten the chance

“Why do you like me to be your mama?” I asked him instead.“Because I feel a connection with you.”“Wow!” That was the only thing I could utter.“Come here. Someone is coming!” Abruptly, I squeezed Jack to me as we heard someone's steps approaching where we were.I could hear Jack's heart beating as I hugged him tightly while covering his mouth with my hand so that he wouldn't produce any noise.I was also scared but I had to act with all courage because of Jack.“What are you doing? You should be cleaning the main hall, we only have one week until the big day.”What were they talking about? Despite the roaming question in my mind, I remained quiet.“I thought I had someone talking here.” The voice of a male replying to the female was heard and we remained stacked where we were.“No, you are just overthinking.” The steps coming to our side were hard and we held our hearts in our palm. Was she looking around?“I can't see anyone. No one roams this side of the packhouse except the Alpha

ANSEL POVThe two days I had been out of the pack were the toughest days I had ever had.Not only did I have a lot of things to deal with, especially the problem concerning my sister, I also had to deal with Wiliam, one of the dukes of my streams. It turned out that he was indeed taking my secrets and selling them to Ramsey.I wanted to kill him there and then but I had to know why he was doing so first, before I knew how I would use him against Ramsey before I killed him.But what was more frustrating was the fact that I couldn't concentrate with all of that rather than thinking about that girl that was in my packhouse.I kept on ignoring her rewinding image in my head but still, that didn't work. I kept on seeing her. Her succulent pink lips didn't even help as I kept on wishing that she was here with me so that I could grab them on mine and suck them dry.“Fuck!” I wasn't settled at all as I leaned my hands on the table.Today was even worse than yesterday. It had been only two d

“Prepare a feast to celebrate my mother and the fact that we won the battle!” I blurted out suddenly, and all the people around were shocked by my decision.Maybe I was evil. My mother had died, and instead of mourning her, I was preparing for a feast to celebrate.‘No. You are not. That is what she wants you to do. To be happy.’‘Thank you, Serene.’ I had never been so happy with my sassy wolf than today.‘You!’ She shouted, and I laughed.“Okay, a feast to celebrate a new beginning and a new life!” Ansel blurted out, and all the pack members, plus our guests, looked in our direction in shock.“Your queen is expecting an heir.” Maybe they didn't hear when my mother talked about her grandson. I didn't know.“Hail the queen of the Titanic Wave! Hail the queen of the Titanic Wave!” They all chorused, and Ansel helped me up.“Where is Edric? He wasn't at the battle?” I asked as Ansel led me in the direction of the stairs.“Three of his council members died, so he had to go.”“It was my m

In one swift move, I was already on my heels and outside the room as if I wasn’t the one who was unwell. The only thing I could hear now was, ‘My mother!’She would be fine, right? Nothing would happen to her, right?Just a moment ago, we had been together, fighting side by side. What might have happened to her just now?All those thoughts kept replaying in my mind as I ran through the hallway, down the stairs, and into another hallway that led to the living hall. Something popped into my mind and I froze. She had no heart! She was living like a shadow!“Nooo!” I shouted at the top of my lungs as I increased my speed. Right now, I couldn't hear anyone speaking to me. I couldn’t see anyone beside me. All I wanted to see was Seraphina, my mother. Reaching the hall, my eyes started tearing up as I saw the woman on the couch, surrounded by some maids and other people I couldn’t recognize at this moment. I rushed to her and knelt on the floor, closer to the couch.“Baby girl.” She calle

The earth heaved, revealing hidden hundreds of witches clad in black, each with the same eerie white cross on their foreheads. Their village, previously hidden by powerful spells, now stood exposed before us.I swallowed hard and turned to Seraphina and she also turned to me."I am so proud of you, I myself didn't know that spell, how did you know it?"I averted my gaze away from her, "I also didn't know how I was able to perform it.""Do you believe that indeed, you were meant to save the wolf's species?" I nodded but the waves of shock rippled through me and by the whispers behind me, I could sense the shock in all of my people too.I could also sense the astonishment in the eyes of the soldiers and our allies. If not for the witches' attacks, we would have passed by this hidden stronghold, unaware of the danger lurking within. The witches, realising their concealment had failed, quickly regrouped. Forming a tight circle, they clasped hands and began chanting. Their voices rose in

EDNA POVMy breath came in shallow bursts as the trucks rumbled towards the witches' territory. It was time, time to pat back to the wiches for what they did to our brothers and sisters.I glanced around at my companions: Seraphina, her trusted confidante, sat beside her, while Coline lounged in the corner with an air of detachment. I had decided to suppress the need to ask her what she meant earlier because I could already see through her that she thought I was weak and that maybe, I used my beauty to be Ansel's mate.Silly her to judge me like that. How stupid was he to forget that there were also fate? That I was Ansel's fated mate?Indeed some people could be crazy and mad."Stay alert," Ansel's voice crackled over the radio-like. "We’re close."Immediately after I heard that, my heart started pounding in my chest. Suddenly, a loud screech filled the air as the lead truck swerved violently. What was going on?I turned my eyes in a bullet pace in front as we were at the top of

Edna's hands trembled slightly as she tightened the last strap of her armour. The preparations had been very tiresome to both of them, leaving her no time to question Ansel about the unfamiliar figures who had arrived earlier. Now, as everything was done, curiosity gnawed at her and she couldn't be silent anymore. She moved quietly through the hall towards her mate, Ansel, her mind focused on the impending battle but unable to shake her curiosity. Ansel was conferring with a group of warriors when she approached him. She leaned in close, her voice a soft whisper."Ansel, who were those two men and the woman with King Roshan earlier?"Ansel's eyes widened momentarily in realisation. He turned to her, a sheepish smile on his lips. "I am sorry, my love. I should have introduced them to you. Ooh no, why have I forgotten to do that and you are the qeen of wolves? You should be aware of who they are." He raised his voice, catching the attention of the mysterious guests."STEVE?" Ansel cal

Ansel sighed, his eyes softening as he looked at Edna. "I have to check on the warriors and make sure the cars are ready for our departure."Edna’s eyes narrowed, her jaw tightening. She threw off the pink robe, walked to the wardrobe, and pulled out a pair of trousers and a blue shirt. With quick, angry motions, she dressed herself, her movements sharp and agitated."Do you think I’m weak?" she shouted, her voice trembling with emotion. "Is that why you want me to sleep while you go and prepare for the war with your men?"Ansel stepped towards her, his hands raised in a placating gesture. "No, Edna. You need rest for tomorrow. It’s not because I think you’re weak. You’re anything but that. How could you even conclude that?"Tears welled up in Edna’s eyes, and she cried, her shoulders shaking with the force of her sobs. Ansel was taken aback, shocked by her sudden burst of emotions. He rushed to her and hugged her from behind, murmuring sweet words into her ear. This woman was everyt

Ansel tenderly tucked a loose strand of hair behind Edna's ear, his touch gentle and reassuring. "I’m ready for the war," he murmured, his voice steady and confident. "Especially after what I have witnessed today, it's high time I do anything to avenge the wolves that lost their lives and also to stop this ones and for all."He then softened his gaze at her and added, "Thank you for trying to get information from those witches. I didn't expect you would do that alone to help me."Edna looked away, her shoulders slumping slightly. "I wish I could have gotten more. We need every advantage we can get."Ansel shook his head, lifting her chin so she would meet his eyes carefully. "What you found out is enough. You’re the most hardworking Luna this pack has ever had. The most courageous queen of Titanic Wave. And the first to be its queen, what else could I ask for feom the goddess? I have everything in you."A faint smile touched Edna's lips, though it didn't quite reach her eyes. "You’re

Ansel and Amos reached the packhouse in the middle of the night, their hearts heavy with the events of the day.Everything just happened fast. And as the days passed, many of their people were dying and Ansel just hoped that the higher house that made laws for all creatures would notice this and help him before it was too late.He could deal with everything himself but as law makers and people who pretended to be holy according to Ansel, they were supposed to open their eyes and see that the wolf species were at risk. But again, Ansel was aware who those people were. They were just corrupt beasts who were a bunch of good for nothing, lazy people who depended on others for information.Ansel ousted back those annoying thoughts then turned to the packhouse in front of him.The packhouse stood tall and silent, the moon casting long shadows over its wooden structure.Ansel moved with purpose, his grip on Sophia gentle yet firm as he carried her into a room adjacent to Jack's.At the time,

  • REJECTED, NOW DESIRED   CHAPTER 135: MASS MURDER

THIRD PERSON POV Ansel and Amos moved swiftly through the dense forest, their powerful legs propelling them forward as they leapt over fallen trees and navigated the rugged terrain. Their wolves had taken over and they were like beasts now, very huge and powerful with furs all over their bodies and claw-like fingers. The night air was thick with tension, and the moon cast an eerie glow on their path and on their wolf nature, causing them to be more powerful than before. After all, wolves were creatures we depended mostly on the moon to give them strength. Ansel’s mind was a storm of rage and sorrow, the news of the slaughter weighing heavily on his heart. The black witches had gone too far. How could they so heartless to kill over twenty wolves? That was mass murder and Ansel as the King of wolves, he needed to act swift. Or else, his people would suffer the consequences. When they finally reached the village, the scene that greeted them was one of unspeakable horror. The onc
