CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT

MAGNUS' POV

I have never seen Audrey look this radiant. She seemed to be glowing under the moonlight. Her red hair was fiery and laid beautifully against her white dress.

I couldn't bear to look at her when the hot rod touched her skin, but I knew she wasn't going to cry. My girl was stronger than that.

When the priestess declared her Luna, I was there by her side as she took in the scene before her, which is why I knew immediately that something was wrong the minute she caught sight of someone.

She dropped my hand and gasped softly. I looked around to see what she saw. I saw nothing out of the ordinary.

“Baby, are you alright?“ She seemed to be transfixed to a spot. I shook her, and she snapped out of her reverie.

“Yeah. Of course.“ She kept looking at the same spot.

“What happened? What were you looking at?“

“Um…” she said, looking around once more. “Nothing. I thought I saw something. It must have been my imagination.“

“What?“

“Pardon?“

“Who did you see?“
