MAGNUS' POV

“He's dead to me.“ She whispered as she collapsed in my arms, with the most broken expression on her face. I wondered what transpired between them that made her like this.

“I'm sorry, baby.“

The first conversation we had about her father came back to me.

“You're the Beta's daughter, aren't you?“

“Yes.“ She said nonchalantly,as if she could care less if she was or not.

“What? You don't like it?“

“Like what?“ Her tone was becoming irritated.

“Like you don't like being Beta's daughter.“

“It's not all that people think it is.“ She shrugged. “He's not all that, either.“

“It doesn't sound like you're a big fan of the man.“

“I put up with him, don't I?“

“But what if…”

“Can we just drop it? I don't exactly want to talk about my father when I'm having a good time.“

“You're having a good time, huh? I better not ruin it.“ I smoothly changed the subject.
