We Must Get That Baby!

Aurora's POV.

I gasped, attempting to find a comfortable position in the dim room. I couldn't help but wonder why this place had been constructed in the first place; it seemed like a room with hardly any windows.

Clutching my baby tightly to my chest, I hoped that nothing would disturb us until this ordeal was over.

But I also felt a profound sense of guilt. All of this chaos was unfolding because I was a part of this pack with Noah. If only I hadn't been here, he wouldn't have had to go into battle.

"Moon Goddess, I know I'm human, but for the sake of my son, help us get through this. Help us…" I whispered in the darkness, my voice trembling with fear and desperation.

The oppressive darkness heightened my unease, and just as I fervently wished for us to remain hidden and undiscovered by the enemy, my baby's cries pierced the silence.

I swallowed hard, my attention shifting immediately to my crying child as I searched for ways to comfort him and stifle his cries.
