"Alpha, your mate is in trouble, and your child too." Alex's urgent words hit me like a thunderbolt, causing my heart to race loudly in my chest while my ears rang incessantly.

Strangely, instead of further anger, his revelation had a calming effect on me, though my grip on him remained firm.

Something about his words didn't sit right. He had blatantly disobeyed my orders by seeking Aurora, and normally, I would have been furious or even inclined to punish him severely.

But now, an odd sense of tranquillity enveloped me.
