His Sudden Shift

Killian's POV

The second I heard a knock on the door, I didn't hesitate to order the person in. I was expecting it to be Stella so I could send her out, but luckily, it was Beta Dayton who had obviously betrayed me back there in the room.

“You called for me, Alpha Killian!” He bowed his head towards me. I couldn't help but sense the fear he held inside. I was pretty sure he knew what he had done. I was sure he knew that he had messed up and it wasn't fair or right.

“Yes, Beta Dayton… now, why don't you explain to me what you were thinking to have allowed Elora to open the door to my room when Scarlet was obviously there?” I wished, pacing to and fro as I awaited a response from him. I needed to understand what he had going on in his mind at that moment.

“I… I didn't mean to, Alpha Killian!” He stuttered, showing his fear immediately.

“You didn't mean to?” I paused, halting right in my tracks, my gaze turned to him fully with a creased brow.
