Two

JANA'S POV

Did I just hear that the Alpha King wants me? This was impossible to believe, it felt as if I heard wrong. Why would the Alpha King want me?

He looked at me as my mouth went agape, still trying to process what I had just heard. Then he stood up and walked towards me, I wondered why he walked towards me slowly, with his face, showing no expression.

"You are my mate and I want you to be mine." He said, with a slight smile on his face.

"I....I...I?" I asked, in shock.

"Yes."

I had agreed to be his mate and had followed him to the palace, where I began to live in. I was his mate for now, but when the crowning takes place, I would become the Luna.

It was only a few days I had spent, but Stefan had showed me love that I never even knew, existed. I walked out of my quarters on a sunny day, it was a busy place as a few maids were all over the compound, taking care of the flowers, garden and other things.

As I stepped out, the maids were trembling, but were still trying to continue their work, even as they were using their side eye to watch me. They had once witnessed a time when I was having a hard time controlling the dangerous wolf in me and that made them fear and despise me.

"Watch out for any sign of change in her, so you don't end up getting devoured by your kind." One of them whispered to a maid that was near me at that moment.

I tried not to get annoyed, so as to not give the dark wolf in me, space to surface. Then Stefan appeared out of nowhere and was walking towards me, with a smile on his face. I was relieved, at least, those maids wouldn't dare talk, now that he was here.

"How about you have a shower, there is somewhere I would like to take you to." He said, pushing me lightly to change into something else.

Despite the fact that he knew how dangerous my wolf could be, he still preferred to be with me. Stefan was everything I wished for in a man and he did all the things I wished I experienced in a relationship. He had even taken me to his vampire kingdom as well, where I got to know of different abilities they had, which most of them was similar to ours, but we were much stronger in strength.

After I had a shower and wore another cloth, he took me to a restaurant where we dined and he made me smile often. I was happy right now and feeling on top of the world, but this didn't last long as I began to feel weird, it was my wolf awakening again.

I began to sweat in fear that it would ruin the moment.

"Are you okay? You do not seem fine." Stefan asked, worriedly.

"I'm fine."

"I'll be right back. I'm going to the restroom." Stefan said as he stood up to leave for the restroom.

I didn't know if i should over look the feeling of my wolf awakening, probably it won't come up or I should just end our meeting now, to avoid any problem. But before I could decide, my wolf began to growl lightly.

"This is a nice view, people are here." My wolf said in a raspy voice.

"Don't do this, please. Allow me have this time to myself." I pleaded, talking lightly.

Then I decided to leave, since it seemed as if my wolf was going to cause a disaster. But before I could leave, my wolf took control. It made me run towards a family and I slashed the whole family to death. Everyone ran for their dear life and I was left with blood, trickling down my claws. Then Stefan came out, looking shocked at what had just happened.

STEFAN'S POV

I went to the restroom to ease myself, although, I was hoping that Jana was really fine as she claimed to be. Suddenly, I started hearing screams and in no time, it had reduced as if the restaurant was deserted already. 

I went outside of the restroom, and to my horror, I saw Jana, stained with blood and her claws which just went in, blood was trickling down from it.

"What just happened?" I ran to her, trying to be certain that she was fine.

I looked towards the direction she was now looking at, she had killed a whole family. She was trembling and tears strolled down her cheeks as she looked like she had just murdered her family.

I held her hand and led her back to the palace. Instead of taking her to her quarters, I took her to mine. 

"Go to the bathroom to have your bath, Jana." I said, looking at her with a warm expression on my face.

I didn't want her to feel bad as I knew none of this was her fault. After she had a shower, she came back to the room, with her eyes lowered and she was fiddling with her fingers.

"I... I murdered a whole family." She said, looking lost.

"Jana, it wasn't you and you can still do your best to try to keep it under control." I said, although, I was beginning to see how hard things have been with her.

Then my beta came over to me.

"Alpha, the council of elders have asked to see you." He informed, lowering his eyes.

I knew that it was regarding Jana that they called me. To murder was an offense, but she was off the hook, because they knew it wasn't her. I got to the meeting hall and I noticed that they weren't looking pleased.

"Alpha, we still stand against her being the Luna of this kingdom. Is this how she would murder us one by one, because of her curse?" Elder Neon asked, looking worried.

"Yes. We don't feel safe with her here. A family died, the people would be too frightened to continue with their daily life in dread that the Luna to be could pounce on them from anywhere." Elder Gustav added, looking displeased.

With all the words that was said during the meeting, I began to doubt if I could still keep her safe. The elders were trying to make me know that I couldn't handle this, would I have to listen to them?
