MELISSA’S POV

I walked over to the river bank, seeing as the sound of the water clashing against each other, sounded refreshing and would probably help me arrange my thoughts. As I sat on the pavement, I sighed.

I wondered why I had gotten into a relationship with Stefan in the first place. He had hurt me, just by reminding me about my ex and that was a painful walk back to the past. I could have called Layla and explained how heavy my heart was, at the moment, but I didn’t want to burden her with my emotions.

Suddenly, something stung me in my buttocks and I moved a little to check what had decided to make my day, worse, but I found out it was a sharp stone. Just before I could sit back, someone grabbed me away from the pavement, making my heart to beat in fear.

As I landed on the floor, I found out that it was Stefan and I felt relief wash through me, a little.
