“Are you stalking me or something?” Fear should have gripped me as I realized, I was speaking, and yet none came. I felt more annoyed than anything else.
Bella gasped in shock next to me but kept her head lowered, Victor snarled at me his smirk turning into an annoyed frown.
“You are an insolent pup; I would have thought someone would have taught you respect.” His tone was aggressive, causing poor Bella to tremble more. That really pissed me off.
“Where do YOU get off?” I felt my eyes narrow as I glared at him. “Not only talking down to people but acting like you are a god amongst us.”
His frown deepened as his eyes turned dark, I felt a spark of excitement as he stomped towards me, Bella was practically crying in fear but I kept my head up. He stopped just in front of me, towering over my shorter stature. His body was shaking in rage but something inside of me refused to look away. My mind was suddenly hype
No one had spoken, the air was almost thick with uneasiness as I glanced between the staring contest currently taking place between Alpha Clide and Domini. I let out a frustrated sigh as they both glanced at me surprised at the sudden sound. “Is anyone going to start this ‘grown up’ conversation or can I go to bed?” I asked a little agitated. Domini stared expectantly at Alpha Clide, I was shocked to see him nervously shift his weight again staring down at his clasped hands. “Well… you see…” he glanced to Domini pleadingly but Domini shook his head pursing his lips closed. Clide sighed deeply closing his eyes. “Laura, I know myself and the Luna have not really included you in a lot of things….” He started again before stopping looking again at Domini as if hoping he would take over. He shook his head again a look of disdain on his face. “Alpha, this is your mess.” I gasped shocked at Domini’s tone but he paid me no attention, staring a
For the life of me, I was unable to track down the Luna. It was as if she was avoiding me. I leaned against the wall of the main entrance to the packhouse, closing my eyes to think. Everyone I had spoken to today had directed me to where the Luna was supposed to be, but as soon as I arrived she was gone. I let out an agitated groan running my fingers through my hair trying to think of why she would be doing this? Perhaps the Alpha had told her I was upset? But that surely wouldn’t make her dodge me?“Laura?” An instant smile spread across my face as I opened my eyes to see Micheal standing nervously near me.“Micheal!” I exclaimed before hugging him tightly, “where on earth have you been?”He chuckled returning my hug.“Did Ellen not mention I… needed to take a leave of absence?” His voice shook a little with embarrassment.I pulled back to see him looking around at the crowd of people co
I sat, face down staring holes into the light blue carpet as the Luna paced around me mumbling to herself. I was terrified of looking at her, scared that I would be yelled at next. She stopped in front of me as I stared at her expensive-looking silver heels as she cleared her throat. I held my breath as I looked up to see her serious gaze staring back at me. I felt a small amount of relief that she no longer seemed angry but her words still cut through me like a knife.“What the hell were you thinking?” I quickly looked back down unsure of what exactly she was referring to but still feeling shameful.“Laura.” She sighed disappointed, pausing for a moment before bending down to lift my head back up so our eyes connected.“My sweet child, I should have been more open with you.” My heart hammered as her gaze shifted to calm almost kind demeanor. She gave me a small smile before taking a seat next to me, Ashly sat with only the gr
I awoke submerged into what almost felt like a cloud of warmth, velvet sheets tucked around my body. I yawned stretching my body out until I heard the familiar satisfying cracks of my bones as I realized where I was. I sat up quickly looking around Luna Ashly’s office, surprised to find myself on a mattress next to her desk. A note was folded next to me. I picked it and smiled at her words; My sweet Laura, I did not want to disrupt your sleep. Please take care of yourself as I and the Alpha will be away for the next week on pack business. Try and be mindful of Alpha Victor as he is insistent on claiming you, I have warned him to stay away but matters of this nature never tend to be straightforward. Take care, see you soon. Ashly x I felt a swelling in my heart knowing that the Luna truly did see me as her daughter, even if the Alpha seemed to despise me I had her on my side. My heart stammered remembering her painful look as she recalled my mother, a
“You are both so gorgeous! No wonder I haven’t seen you around! You must be children of other Alpha’s?” She seemed to ask but before either of us could answer Victor cleared his throat annoyed.“Sister, this is not time…” She cut him off quickly her tone still sweet but a strange power behind her words.“No, brother. I am not a child.”I looked over her face wondering how old she was, I mean she sure seemed childlike. She caught me staring and winked at me. I giggled nervously as she beamed back at me. Victor growled again, the girl quickly looked at him eyes narrowed before her mouth formed an ‘O’ shape before glancing back to me.“Why do you get the pretty ones?” She muttered with a pout, I raised my eyebrow at her as Ellen shared a worried look with Micheal.“Shoo.” She said looking at Victor and making a shooing gesture. He sighed deeply before glancing a
“Laura!” A sweet, familiar voice called to me. Purple eyes looked deep into my own, similar and yet different. “Laura” the voice repeated a sense of love and safety washing over me. “You’ve grown so much.” I felt my face smile as I welcomed the sensations, blinking as the face swirled into a man’s. His purple eyes swimming with joy as he stared into mine. “Laura?” Domini’s voice called as I felt my body shake, I opened my eyes wide to see his panicked expression. “Whhhat?” I exclaimed as he continued to shake me. He stopped as relief flooded his face. “You were cold….” He muttered as his voice broke, I stared at him confused as his eyes watered. Before I could say or protest he pulled me into him again almost crushing me with a hug. “You scared me.” He spoke again into my hair as I pushed against him. “Domini? What the hell?” He released me before tossing my hair. “I swear you are going to give me a hear
Suspiciously I located Xander rather quickly, giggling in conversation with Anya behind the packhouse behind some of the forestry. I felt my heart pang at the sight of them remembering the Luna cussing him out, was it true? I watched in anger as he placed his hand against Anya’s cheek, his lips moving into a small smile. The same smile he used to give me. I felt my hands begin to shake as it hit me, it was all true. He never loved me, probably never even cared. I watched as he bent down towards Anya’s lips, time slowing as they connected. The rumors were true. I barged over to them, the heat of my anger seeming to radiate off of me. “Laura?” Xander gasped looked at me as if he was a child caught with his hand in a cookie jar. Anya looked between us confused. I stood, glaring at him. “What is this?” I asked through gritted teeth gesturing between him and Anya. Anya raised her eyebrow questioningly as Xander just looked everywhere but my gaze. “It’s not
The pit of despair and dread forming deep inside me had my mind a mess of thoughts. For so long I had been happy about being Xander’s mate, but now that I knew the truth? How could I be with him…? How could I be his mate? I bit the inside of my lip trying to swallow the bile that threatened to come up at the thought of being with him at all. Even the idea of his touch felt wrong, disgusting, and vile. I heaved as I approached Domini’s and my room, thankful that he would be out on patrol or aiding the Alpha and I could be alone with my thoughts. I stopped a moment my hand floating above the door handle as I heard a crash come from inside. I groaned internally not wanting to talk about what had happened today, knowing that he was correct about Xander. However, Anya’s sly smile came to mind as I remembered her finding her mate in Bella and felt myself grin again. I wasn’t sure exactly why my heart loved them together but it was adorable. I giggled recalling Bella’s excitement at possib
James P.O.VI couldn’t help but grin as I sat upon my throne of Jasper, sipping from a crystal glass holding the blood of a beautiful and enchanting woman. She had been so kind to me, directing me, aiding me and she tasted so sweet. Years of planning, of searching, had finally stopped. I had found her. Salvation. Her mother, she would surely be weeping now. Knowing that even her and that idiot Fredo’s deaths couldn’t stop me from taking what was mine. Pity, really. Fredo was made to rule, to lead great armies. But he was blinded, by her, that harpy. He knew my plans to overthrow his father, even once supported me in my cause. Yet, as soon as he laid eyes on her… She destroyed him. Convinced his brothers to flee, to join the disgusting mutts over their own kin. Disgusting and weak were the so-called royalty. Their father, King Zeroth at least fought, but his age made it too easy.I sighed deeply before taking another sip of the sweet nect
I felt conflicted as Victor re-dressed himself, part of me wanting nothing more than to never leave this moment. For once, I felt happy. Content even. I knew it was almost stupid of me to think that, but I couldn’t help it. It was as if as soon as my wolf had come upon me the world had shifted. I just knew I knew that I loved Victor. I wished I had of given the idea more credence sooner, and not wasted so much time chasing Xander. Xander… why did his name still bring that heaviness to me, was it true? That I had multiple mates?“My Luna?” Victor called me back to reality with a look of concern.I felt oddly guilty, as if it was wrong of me to have any remaining feelings towards him, that even the mere thought was somehow a slight against Victor. I took a deep breath before shaking my head and getting dressed myself.“Laura?” He repeated, his tone steady and yet his eyes showing a vulnerability I found hard to ignore.&
Hello everyone, I am sorry if this chapter update disappoints any of you as I am unable to reply/comment on chapters at the moment due to problems with my phone. Essentially, if you missed my last comment I have been having the worst luck recently, my laptop decided to play up (wouldn't turn on etc), my phone is an older model so I can not rely on that to update chapters so had left a previous comment advising that until I can get my laptop in a better state I am unable to update chapters. Today I have seen comments saying that the site is suggesting my book is completed, this is incorrect. I am doing my best to get my tech fixed or to find alternatives, I have managed to get some life into my laptop but are having issues with word. I also have a day job so unfortunately can not focus all my energy on this at once. I completely understand your frustrations and can tell you I am very frus
“No… it’s can’t be true…” She whispered as Victor glared at her before glancing at me, worried. “What? What does that mean?!” I asked as Victor picked up another shirt covering the mark. “It means…” Victor sighed, pained. “That I am your second mate.” I stared blankly at him as Rebbeka looked between us horrified and confused. “As in... my second chance mate?” I asked hopeful, yet understanding what this really meant…. “No…” Rebbeka said softly, her eyes flicking back to my mark. “It means you have more than one.” I looked at Victor, my heart hurting at his jealous and pained expression. I didn’t want this… “So… he is her… first mate... ?” Rebbeka asked Victor nervously as if I was no longer in the room. Victor gave her a sad smile nodding, “that’s why I couldn’t kill him… I wanted to… fuck I still do… knowing… knowing that a part of her will always love him… no matter how far she is from him, no matter how hard
I had expected to be alone for a while once Ellen left to find Domini, and yet no sooner had she left Rebbeka was at the door. A grin plastered on her face, her eyes wide with joy at the mere sight of me. It made me somewhat uncomfortable, she seemed to see me as … as an actual Luna. “Luna!” She exclaimed happily letting herself in, glancing around in disdain at Victor’s room, almost in the same vein as I had. “I had assumed he would have… done something in here…” She mumbled to herself before standing a few meters away from me, one hand on her hip looking down at me with excited eyes. “Luna Laura, I’m sure you are quite busy at the moment… well after the events of today” she smirked as if holding back a giggle before her eyes narrowed and I saw a flash of anger that chilled me. “Of course Alpha Victor has advised me you are insisting on being present during… during the interrogation of the vampire.” She spat vampire with such pure hatred I felt my heart
“What… Laura?” He asked hurriedly before briskly walking over to me, and glaring at Ellen. “What did you do?” “Me?” Ellen asked pointing to herself as he growled, “I didn’t do anything!” “She didn’t… Look… Victor… I’m… I’m sorry about… well about before…” I felt exasperated by the inner turmoil of emotions running through me. He gave me a strange look, before sighing and pressing his forehead against mine. I was surprised how sweet and loving his action felt, his skin seemed so pleasantly warm against mine instantly calming down that strange panic “My Luna, It’s okay. I may have reacted… well… a little overreaction really.” He sighed again before planting a light kiss on my forehead. “This room used to be my parents, I just never had the… desire or need to change it dramatically.” I felt more guilt bubble inside me as he kissed my forehead again. “You didn’t know, besides you are right.” He pulled away to give me a small yet sa
Victor paused at the doorway, with one hand unbuttoning his shirt to cover my naked body as best he could, I felt myself smirk as he growled in frustration as the shirt kept slipping off. Ellen giggled from behind us, throwing the blanket off the bed onto us both.“Wow, am I smarter than our own Alpha?” She teased as Victor rolled his eyes, wrapping me up as if I were a burrito.I was secretly pleased that Ellen seemed less and less scared of him as the days passed, after all, I was learning that he was all bark and no bite.I snuggled into his chest as we walked the halls, feeling exhausted and overwhelmed with my new senses. At least his scent overpowered all the others, his soft and steady heartbeat silenced the insistent noises from the house. He brought us into a new room, it was spacious as if it had not been finished yet. The walls and ceiling were a dull and boring off cream color, Victor put me down on a huge king bed with a white canopy. I
Victor's P.O.V My world was almost complete. I had my Luna, my Laura finally. Now, just one thing was left. My revenge. I waltzed into my pack's boardroom room knowing that soon my world would be complete. Anya sat to the right of the head chair, my chair. She too sat with a huge grin spreading across her lips, practically bouncing in excitement. I was a little surprised to see Bella, messed hair, and a half-asleep look sitting beside her but did not say anything. “Alpha Victor!” Rebbeka called, standing with her arms extended for an affectionate hug. Chandler sat next to her, smiling widely at me as I embraced Rebbeka before shaking his hand. I was so grateful for those two, ever since my parents were murdered they stepped up, not just for mine and Anya’s benefit but for the whole pack. “Domini” I nodded to the frowning man my Luna seemed so fond of, he seemed to have been lost in thought his face changing to a hesitant but friendly one. “Alp
“I see…” He murmured darkly, his eyes flicking to Ellen as he scowled. “Don’t you dare look at her” I spat as his eyes looked back at me, his scowl sending a wave of fear through me. “Dimitri… my boy…” he spoke calmly without breaking eye contact with me, Dimitri had made it to the door, hand hovering over the handle. “I would choose your next action very carefully.” I flicked my eyes to Ellen, she was shaking in fear but readying herself to shift as Dimitri held up his hand at Herman, his eyes narrowing as if he was using great effort at something. He stared at Herman mouth agape in horror and surprise. “Why…” He muttered, I felt another wave of fear pass through me as Herman’s eyes bore into mine. “Why, Dimitri… you really didn’t consider what I am did you?” Herman stood slowly, turning to face him. I watched in horror as Dimitri’s face turned white as his eyes flickered between mine and Herman. “Now, be a good boy…” Herman s
