Chapter 2. The proposal

It was a usual day for Abeer shekhawat, he got up, completed his gym session then offered his prayers in the temple placed in his villa. When he reached the dining room the staff greeted him and he greeted her mother garima shekhawat. They belonged to the famous rich family of shekhawats. , their extended family still live in shimla 

When Aberr was 11 years old he lost his father and uncle in a car accident in Shimla , his mother Garima shekhawat was so devastated after losing her husband that she started slipping into depression. Abeer's badima ( aunt )was also going through the same pain she controlled herself for her family and to support his young son who left his studies in America and came to shimla to handle his family.

   Looking at garima" a condition they decided to shift garima and a beer to London at garima's parents place. And this worked too as garima got normal after some months, 

Time passed like this now. Abeer was a 27 yr old young man , who finished his studies with good grades and now handles the London branch of Sgroup .

     He  respects his elder brother Rudra a lot , he knows the sacrifices Rudra made for the family . Abeer just wants to help his brother in handling the nusinescans well as the family  . Rudra's decision of not getting married was always disturbing the family but now his family wanted him to settle down .Abeer didn't know how to handle this situation as he was not ready to marry yet so he also started avoiding the topic .

Right now he was doing the same thing as the look on his mother's face was telling him the danger so he didn't let her start the talk. He finished his breakfast in a hurry and left for his office . When he was on the way ,he got to know that he had to first attend a meeting in James corporation to approve some designs . Soon he got the location and he diverted his audi on that way .

In between suddenly a girl jumped in front of his car , for his good luck he was not driving at a fast speed so he pulled the brake in time . He was rolling his window down to lash out at the girl but to his surprise , the girl entered his car and got settled in the passenger seat without even asking him .

   Abeer looked at the girl in anger so she started  apologising for her behaviour and told Abeer that she just wanted to reach her friend who is suffering from a heart attack. Abeer noticed her face which was sweating badly. He didn't waste time and started his car towards the address provided by her .

  To make her comfortable Abeer started a small conversation with her , and  he came to know that this girl is not a doctor but an architect ,her parents belong to India . And her stuttering way of talking was telling him that she is lying but he didn't point out it to her . When he reached her destination she just thanked him and left for his office.

  Whenabeer checked the location where he had to reach , he got to know that he had already reached the destination. He smiled at his luck . As he was already mesmerised by the beauty of the girl.

  The following meeting was an interesting event as the girl adhya was the one who was going to do the presentation . When he left from the hall he didn't miss the sigh of relief that adhya had on her face  and now Abeer was sure about hervlyng so he wanted to tease her more .

So Abeer appreciated James for his way of managing medical aid for his employees  and as he was expecting  was surprised to know about the heart attack story .James called adhya  to confirm about it and now Abeer was enjoying every bit of his act . 

 And soon the third character or more precisely the heart attack patient entered the scene. A chubby girl who  just suffered from a heart break that Abeer assumed by her blabbering in Hindi . When she got to know the false story that adhya cooked for her ,she said some colourful words to adhya as she knew that James would not understand but she didn't have an idea about abeer's knowledge of Hindi language .

Abeer was impressed by the way adhya's friend covered up for her; he didn't trouble her more and left from there bidding goodbye  to them . Adhya followed her and apologised to him for her lies. Abeer just gave her a piece of advice and then left from there 

  After their first meeting, Abeer was feeling a different type of pull towards adhya, when he first saw adhya her flawless beauty mesmerised him ,no doubt he was smitten  by  her . When he saw her presentation he was highly impressed by adhya's capability . He discovered that aadhya is a brilliant and beautiful girl .Abeer noticed her behaviour with her colleagues.  He found her perfectly imperfect ,in no time he came to the conclusion that she is the only one for him. He met her again in some meetings.

                In those meetings ,First time Abeer got tensed about his looks , because he has to try hard to get any attention from adhya .The day when  the deal got finalised, Abeer offered a coffee date hesitantly and to his surprise adhya agreed .

That day Abeer took extra efforts in getting ready as he wanted to woo his girl at any cost . 

On the first coffee date they actually first time talked about their personal life as on previous meetings they were strictly professional. They both like talking to each other ,they have the same passion for their carriers. 

Abeer already decided to take baby steps in this matter ,so at the end of the coffee date he offered his friendship to adhya which she accepted easily .

Then the phone chats , coffee dates and dinner dates become a routine for them. After continuing this friendship for 3 months ,adhya started feeling the same pull towards him . She was highly impressed by the values of abeer .

He always respects her wishes , his behaviour with his staff was commendable. Even after coming from a rich and elite family , he is a very down to earth man.

On valentines day abeer decided to propose adhya for lifetime commitment.,that is marriage .

He was noticing the change in her behaviour for him , she is started feeling comfortable around him 

Aadya started talking  to him freely about her thoughts ,her dreams ,her future plans.

Abeer was scared of her rejection as he knows that if she rejected this proposal then their friendship  will end here too .

When adhya reached the hotel for dinner ,all romantic arrangements were made to make the dinner special . Abeer didn't want to leave a stone unturned to impress her .

Adhya thought it was valentine's day so hotel staff decorated the hotel to attract the customers.

After taking their respective seats,Abeer asked her in an excited tone .

" So do you like the arrangement"

"Yes  they are lovely ,the staff must have worked hard on it "

Abeer's face fell on hearing this as he had himself taken care of the arrangements and detailed everything to the staff for a perfect ambience to propose to Adhya.

Adhya doesn't know  what she said wrong. Why did Abeer get upset all of a sudden?.Abeer somehow composed himself and ordered drinks as adhya doesn't drink alcohol so he ordered a mojito for her and wine for himself .

Abeer was now getting nervous about her reaction to this proposal .

" I want to show you something adhya,can you come with me "

Adhya nodded in yes ,anyway she was feeling abeer's behaviour a little odd.

Abeer took her to the adjoining garden of the hotel ,where the decorative lights were arranged beautifully .Adhya was busy observing the decorations then she turned around to face Abeer .

" Abeer what s.."

She gasped in shock ,as Abeer was sitting on his one knee ,holding a small box in which a diamond  ring was kept .

"Adhya I know you must be thinking that it's too early for this ,but trust me since the day I met you and get to know more about you   ,I know that you are the one and only one for me . I promise you that you will never regret saying yes to me as i will love you, cherish you and protect you from each harm .And if your answer is no than i promise i will never trouble you again ,.so miss adhya khurrana

Adhya listens to his love confession 

silently, she offered her hand to help him get up . Abeer was now sure that she was going to reject him .Adhya held his hand with her 's and then started speaking in a calm tone .

" Abeer i don't know what to say ,see i am always been a career oriented woman.

I don't know what love is but i know one thing that i like you but love ,..i am not sure . 

"See i was never in this kind of love relationship before ,as i just wanted to focus on my studies and later in my career ."

"I need some more time Abeer.I want to know more about you , can we  take this slow Abeer , why not we start dating each other for sometime as girlfriend ,boyfriend you know . And as far as marriage is concerned i know that the girl who will marry you will be the luckiest girl ,but for me marriage is a lifetime commitment , i promise you that the day i feel that you are the one for me i will tell you "

Abeer was feeling mixed emotions that time ,he was upset that she didn't agree for marriage but at the same time he was happy to know that she is not a money minded person and his status or money doesn't 

matter to her,so he agreed to her conditions .

Adhya hugged him and put the ring box in his coat pocket saying teasingly 

'Later may be "

Abeer laughed at her antics , and hugged her more .

That's how they started dating and  just after  two  months adhya felt the same feelings towards him, she was scared of his igh status but she kept aside all negative thoughts and decided to follow her heart.

As promised to him she told him about her feelings, in the same hotel on a dinner date arranged by her, tht day Abeer felt like he was the luckiest man on earth

Present-day 

The music was blasting in high volume in the famous nightclub of London, adhya was enjoying the weekend. As it's the only time for a working woman like her to enjoy some me-time. She was dancing in the arms of her love Abeer Shekhawat.

It has been more than 1 year since they first met.

They were enjoying adhya's promotion party at a famous club in London. All her friends and colleagues were also present there

Rushali was feeling happy for her dear friend who was in love with the right man. 

"So rush what are you thinking?"  Abeer asked her when they got down from the floor

" tell me do you have any brother ?"

"Why, yes i means I have an elder brother" 

"is he single ?"

" yes"

"is he handsome like you ?"

" no he is more handsome than me "

"So done! tell  him to date me"

"Haha, no... no way "

"Why don't you think I am pretty? "

"You are very pretty rushali but my brother is not interested in dating" 

"Oh !my bad luck "rushali dramatically smacked her head, then Abeer and rushali both laughed together. 

After leaving the club, Abeer and Adhya were sitting in Abeer's car chatting to each other. 

"Abeer I think you should meet my parents now you know for a marriage proposal "

" My mom is also excited to meet you, Adhya ."

"It's better that we should arrange a meeting of both the families "

" Yes I think the same "

'I think it's late, come let me drop you home, 'Abeer suggest to her.

" Hmm, I hope they will accept this alliance abeer, "adhya asked nervously 

"They will ,don't worry ." Abeer lovingly kissed her forehead.

.Soon they reached Khurrana villa, after dropping adhya he reached his home. While laying on his bed he was a little nervous about his brother's reaction to this alliance as Rudra Singh Shekhawat is not an easy man to deal with. In all these thoughts he doesn't know when he fell asleep.
