**POV Cassandra**

I was sitting on the bed, looking at the gold necklace in my hands, when memories of everything that had happened flooded back to me.

**Flashback On**

“Dad… I don’t understand what’s going on. You and Mom are scaring me…” My voice trembled with fear as I watched my father hurriedly toss our belongings into a small black suitcase. He handed the suitcase to my mother, who was holding Emily tightly, trying to calm her as she cried uncontrollably.

“I’ve got everything, Charlie. How much time do we have before we leave?” my mother asked, her voice laced with fear. She was struggling to stay calm, but terror was etched on her face as she tried to comfort my sister.

“As soon as it gets dark, we leave. We’ll go during the guard change on patrol,” my father replied, nerves on edge as he ran his trembling hands through his hair.
