Amy cried, tears covering her face.

However, Thaddeus still maintained his cold yet calm expression. He seemed to have carefully considered this decision and wasn't being impulsive in the slightest.

"Have you not considered that this would happen when you did such vicious things to your own sister?" he asked.

Amy remained stubborn. "I've never thought about harming Jessie! She's my sister! We share the same blood. How could I bring myself to harm her? I was just speaking out of anger. I didn't expect my mom to take my words seriously!"

She now pinned the blame on Margaret and made herself seem like the innocent one. She cried so miserably that Thaddeus would've believed she was innocent if he hadn't discovered the truth.

Thaddeus feared women crying the most. In the past, he would relent as soon as Amy cried. But now, he only found her actions mocking. He felt as if she had mocked his intelligence.
