I woke up feeling refreshed and rejuvenated, the morning sunlight streaming through the windows and illuminating the room. I stretched and yawned, realizing that Doctor John was not beside me. I got out of bed and made my way to the sitting room, where I found him busy in the kitchen, cooking up a storm.

"Good morning," he said, smiling at me as he expertly flipped an omelette. "Come eat breakfast, and then we'll get you dressed and ready for our trip to the hospital."

I smiled, feeling grateful for his care and concern. "Thank you, Doctor John," I said, taking a seat at the table. "You're really going above and beyond for me."

He chuckled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "That's what friends are for, Mirabel," he said. "Now, let's get you fueled up for the day ahead."
