Chapter 78

Rose's POV

Fear and adrenaline coursed through my veins as I watched the man closing in on my scattered belongings.

The men wasted no time, quickly grabbing what they could before disappearing into the many alleys of the market.

I was left stunned and vulnerable, my bag was torn and almost empty. "What just happened?” I asked myself as it all happened too fast, my brain could not register it all.

The fruit vendor, witnessing the scene, rushed to my side, concern etched on his face. "Are you alright, miss? Did they take anything important?"

I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. "No."

"Are you sure, Miss? You seem shaken."

"I'm fine, thank you. I'm just shocked. The things they took are just some personal belongings. They were of sentimental value, but I can replace them. Thank you for your concern."
