Chapter 79

Rose's POV

The footsteps of the people behind us grew louder and louder, and the fear inside us grew with each passing moment.

"Is this normal?" I asked the girl and she shook her head.

"Run!" I urged the girl, pulling her along with me as we sprinted down the dimly lit street.

Fear propelled us forward, our breaths ragged and desperate. Panic coursed through my veins as we weaved through the maze-like alleys, desperately searching for a place to hide.

Finally, we spotted an abandoned shop up ahead, its entrance shrouded in darkness. Without hesitation, we ducked inside, hoping to find sanctuary within its decaying walls.

"Hush, don't make a sound," I whispered to her.

As we huddled together, our bodies pressed against the cold concrete, the footsteps slowed outside.

The air grew thick with anticipation, the silence punctuated only by the sound of our racing hearts.

A sliver of moonlight pierced through a broken window, casting a dim glow upon the room.
