CHAPTER FIVE

THIRD PERSON'S POV

"Nicole! Nicole! Nicole please wait, it's not what you think" Freda shouted as she ran after her daughter

She had no idea why green snake, as the man was normally called, would set her up

Knowing Nicole, she would spit everything she heard to Liam, and that was the last thing she wanted to happen

"Nicole I'm talking to you, Nicole!" She screamed, but the girl didn't stop running

The girl got in her car and sped off

"Shit! That bastard" she said with gritted teeth

"Nicole!" She screamed one more time, but the girl was gone

LIAM'S POV

"Alpha Liam!" Gwen, the little girl who was now my daughter called out

"Hey Gwen, how are you doing?" I asked as soon as our eyes met

"I'm doing fine..." She said and paused

"Are you okay? You look sad and worried" she asked, with a voice filled with concern

"I am doing just okay Gwen" I answered with a smile, trying to assure her that she had nothing to worry about

"Alright Alpha Liam, can we...." She was saying, but I cut in, I couldn't help but notice that she still refered to me as Alpha

When I'm actually her dad now

"I know this will be hard for you, but isn't it better that you call me dad? I mean... I'm your dad now" I said with a shrug

"Oh my goodness! Really?" She asked, excitedly

"Of course" I answered with an equal energy

"Wow! I'd love that Alp....Dad" she said and I smiled ear to ear

It felt great for the both of us

"Can we go to the park? There are lots of games I would love us to play together" she said and of course I agreed

Just as we were about to leave, Richard came in

"Hey Rich!" I said and he waved, with a faint smile

"Any news on Kathleen?" I asked

"Negative, but the prohetess..." He Answered and I frowned

"What about Freda? Is she back?" I asked, as I packed the things we would be needing for our hangout

"Heading somewhere?" Richard asked with creased brows

"Obviously!" I answered, but his look didn't show any hint of satisfaction

"We're heading to the park" I answered and he sighed

"Gwen, you mind leaving us alone for some minutes? Your..."

"Dad" I said

"Right, your dad and I have something to discuss" he said and she nodded

"What! Why staring at me that way?" I questioned

"We have a situation Alpha Liam, and you're headed to the park? Why do you look carefree, don't you longer have the interest of the people at heart? What do you..." He was saying but I cut in

"Hey! I am fully aware of the situation, stop making it sound as though I don't give a fuck about the things happening.... Do I have to be sober? Do you expect to see me shedding tears?" I asked on and on

"The two most important people to help with the situation are nowhere to be found, one is a traitor, and the other is relaxing in wherever she is, now Richard, tell me, what should be the next step?" I continued, the pitch of my voice slowly rising

"I have deployed armies to go in search of Kathleen and the most advanced tracking machine is still looking for Freda, what else do you expect I do?" I fired on

"Oh! Maybe you want me to form a gathering and raise a cause for panic.... I am trying to look and act as calm as possible, so that the pack members don't suspect anything fishy. Do you understand? Stop thinking one sidedly" I said and he just stared at me

"If that's what brought you here, then I guess we're done" I said and made my way to the door

"Nicole is dead" he said and I made a halt, and turned to his direction

"What! How? What happened? Who killed her?" I asked all at a time

"That's the mystery yet to be solved" he responded, turning so that we faced each other

"There was no sign of struggle before her death, so it definitely wasn't a murder, Nicole is the last person on Earth, whom one would think, of commiting suicide" he explained

"Then what was the cause of her death?" I asked, this came as a blow to me

If Gwen should hear about this, she would go nuts, because Nicole was really close to her and all the other children

She was their most loved teacher

"Her roommate said when she arrives home last night, she didn't look alright, according to her, she behaved as though she was a walking dead..." He explained and paused, gauging my reaction

"You okay?" He asked and I nodded

"According to the lady, she went to question her about the recent weirdness, but by the time she got there, Nicole was dead" he said and I just sighed

From one problem to another, of everyone, why did it have to be her

It's not as though I wanted anyone dead, but she was a really popular person, and her mysterious death would definitely leave people asking questions and they would surely need answers

"Dad! Aren't you done?" Gwen called out by the door and I sighed

In other for her not suspect anything, I would still take her to the park

"I'm ready, shall we?" I said as I came out and she excitedly ran outside the building

THIRD PERSON'S POV

"Asshole!" Freda screamed as she stormed into the apartment of the man, her boss

"What was that for? Why did you have to do that?" She questioned

"You know how principled Nicole is, still you did what you did" she complained, but the man just stared at her with a smirk curved on his lips

"You monster, talk to me" she urged punching him on the chest

"Hunny! What's going on here?" Another woman asked as she entered into the room, she was literally naked, which made it obvious to Freda what was happening while she was away

"Wait! What! You're a cunt, how dare you?" She complained almost in tears

"If you were tired of me, it couldn't have hurt if you just told me" she complained now in tears

Turned out, The Green snake wanted to invite someone else, so he used Nicole to keep her distracted, while he had fun with the other lady

Freda felt betrayed, she couldn't believe he could do such a thing to her

"Chill Freda! Stop making a deal out of no deal" he said nonchalantly

"Really?" She screamed in anger

"Yes, look at all these from a bright angle, it was discovered that Sarah didn't actually die, Liam is trying not to cause an alarm for Panic, but the ' mysterious' death of Nicole would get the people questing for answers" he explained and she just stood there looking confused

"And then what?" She asked harshly

"In the process, the pack members would find out about Sarah still being alive, and there would be chaos, because I have a much bigger plan for them" he continued while smiling maniacally

"Whatever, how did you know about the death of Nicole and that Sarah is still alive" Freda asked but he just smiled

" That aside, don't you think it's time, you take off this mask?" She asked again

And he took it off, making Freda gasp

"Happy now?"

"What in the motherfucking world is this?" She passed out, Yup, she did
