Chapter 6-Years later

“Now that you are strong, what do you plan to do?” Lauro asked his daughter.

Stella smiled and caressed her son’s little cheek before turning to her father. “We’re going to live abroad first. Then, I’ll be back when the agreed time comes.”

Lauro stared at his grandson’s face. The boy is handsome and has a sharp nose. It doesn’t seem like the kid got anything from their blood. His daughter still didn’t want to let her grandfather know who her former husband was. And he kept his mouth shut and did not lead his daughter. He loved his only child, so he gave her everything she wanted. His only mistake was letting her live on her own then. It was too late when he found out that she had married a man and that she did not love him.

“I’ll fix the documents for the two of you.”

“Thank you, Dad! You can visit us there often.”

Lauro nodded with a smile before kissing his sleeping grandson on the forehead. He is happy for his daughter because she has someone to be with her until old age.

Stella seemed to feel strange around her when she and her son left the house. For a year, she stayed inside their mansion until she gave birth. But she didn’t regain her strength immediately after giving birth, so she stayed there for a long time.

Her father quickly arranged for them to go abroad. And her grandfather doesn't care about her decision in life right now. She wanted to get her son away from this country. She also has no intention of introducing her son to the public and is afraid that she might lose him. She now understood her father and grandfather why she had been hidden before.

If Charles’s family were rich, their wealth would be doubled versus theirs. Many wanted to share their wealth. Her father’s life had been attempted several times before when they knew that the heiress of the family was likely to be a woman. They looked down on her and thought that when her father was gone she would not have the ability to manage the property left behind.

Stella never met her mother because she died after giving birth to her. There were women wanting to replace the mother in her father’s heart, yet the man had no intention of marrying someone else. Her grandfather searched several times for a woman for her father because he wanted to have a grandson. But nothing happened, so now the old man turned to her.

“I’ll accompany you to another country, so you can have a partner in taking care of my grandson.”

Stella raised her eyebrows at the old man. Her grandfather suddenly became interested in her son because it was a boy.

“Give up on your grandfather, he just wants to get back at you.” Lauro put his arm around his daughter. He cannot leave because there is no one else to trust in their business. His cousins are traitors and are just waiting for an opportunity to usurp the position of CEO in the company.

Stella didn’t do anything anymore and the old man was ready to leave.

“You’ve been divorced for more than two years but why can’t we still get married?” Elizabeth is frustrated. Another thing that angers her is that her boyfriend does not present her to her grandfather to let them know that they are back together.

“If you don’t like this set up anymore, you can find another one.”

Elizabeth seemed poured by freezing water and she suddenly fell silent. She stared at Charles in disbelief. “Just like that? After I left my job abroad and chose to come back here for you?”

Charles blew out his mouth and seemed to be running out of patience as he looked at Elizabeth. “It’s not my fault if I don’t feel the same for you as before.”

Elizabeth cried and covered her face with her hands. She could not have left then because her boyfriend’s plan was for them to be together even though he was married to Stella, because they were just married on paper. But she left anyway and the young man did not know the reason for that. She became confident that his love for her would not change.

“Babe, that’s not what I meant. I’m doing everything to return your old love for me. Please don’t give up on me like that, because my feelings for you never changed.”

Charles sighed and watched the girl closely. Suddenly, he sees Stella on her, so he feels sorry. Like her, Stella also begged him to give her a chance. A few years passed and he couldn’t find the girl. His grandfather was right that he would never see her again.

He wondered why no one could identify the woman. He checked at the airport and in the province, but no Stella Miranda came out of the country. His grandfather never left the house that was for Stella and didn’t talk to him either, unless it was important.

“Tell me the truth, why are you still looking for that woman?” Elizabeth asked reproachfully.

“Don’t start, Elizabeth. I still have a lot of work to do so we can talk some other day.”

Elizabeth tightly closed her lips and stopped herself from asking more. She didn’t want to lose the young man, so she had to understand him now.

After Elizabeth left, Charles lost his senses and fell into deep thought again.

“Did you and your girlfriend fight?”

Charles looked up in shock when someone spoke.

“The door was open so I went in. I also met your girlfriend in the hallway.”

Charles stood up and made the gentleman sit down. This was their new client, and he didn’t expect him to meet him in his office. He didn’t pay attention to his first question.

“Is there a problem, and you’re suddenly visiting, sir?”

“Nothing, I finished reviewing your proposal last night and want to sign it because I’m leaving tonight.”

Charles was delighted and quickly closed the deal on the big project with his new partner. For a moment, he forgot what was bothering his mind and became occupied with the new project held by their company.

“Take care on your flight, sir!” He shook hands with the gentleman as he said goodbye to leave.

From her boyfriend’s office, Elizabeth went to her friend’s office, where she vented her anger because of her brother.

“Sorry, Eliz, if only I could do something so that you and my brother could get married.” Sophie comforted her friend sadly.

“Maybe when that woman is found, your brother won’t think about her anymore.”

Sophie nodded to her friend. That’s right, her brother’s feelings are divided because of their grandfather. And what their grandfather needed was to see Stella.

“What if we use social media to find her?” Elizabeth suggested.

Sophie thought for a moment. Elizabeth seemed to have a good idea.
