Chapter 4-Agreement

“Babe, good morning!” Elizabeth greeted the young man enthusiastically when she caught him in the kitchen having coffee.

Charles frowned when he saw his ex-girlfriend. He looked around, and it looked like he had gone to the wrong house.

“I slept here last night with Sophie. You didn’t want to be disturbed, so I didn’t let you know.” She smiled at the young man as she explained.

“Have a seat.”

Elizabeth quickly obeyed and sat next to the young man. Now that Stella is gone, it’s her turn to share the young man’s breakfast from today. There was no space for joy anymore in her heart because she felt that Charles was hers again.

“Marimar, wake up Stella, so she can have breakfast.”

Elizabeth stopped picking up the fork and stared at Charles in disbelief.

“Sir, since Ma’am Stella left yesterday she has not returned.” The assistant answered hesitantly. Even if the relationship between the two is not good, Stella cannot be accompanied by food when her boss is there.

Charles dropped the fork he was holding and glared at the assistant.

“Babe, don’t be mad at Marimar. That woman left in a hurry yesterday and looks excited to be with her new man again.” Elizabeth defended the servant.

Charles clenched his fist and left the food without saying goodbye. He rushed to Stella’s room when he remembered what Daniel said, that the woman had left with nothing but her small bag.

“Brother, what are you doing here?” Sophie said to her brother when she found her at Stella’s room.

Charles ignored his sister’s question. He opened all of Stella’s drawers, and it looked like a thorn was pulled out from him when he saw that it was still fully stocked.

“Brother, I’m going to bring your things to Marimar, so we can leave here together.”

“Don’t move my things. After you eat you can leave and take Elizabeth with you.”

Sophie stared open-mouthed at her brother. “Brother, you have already given this house to that woman, so you have to leave.”

“We still have something to talk about, so I’ll wait for her to come back. Don’t ask too many questions and I still have a lot to do.”

Sophie turned away in annoyance and her brother became cold towards her again. When her brother’s mood is like that, she can’t oppose or tease him. She wonders why her brother seems to be looking for his wife, who is now his ex-wife.

“Leave him alone. The important thing is that that woman is gone,” Magda consoled the two women when Sophie reported to her.

“Mommy Magda is right, the best thing is that we celebrate outside again,” Elizabeth said happily again.

Marimar is suddenly confused and doesn’t know what to do because it looks like the boss won’t leave until Stella comes back. When that happens, she cannot move the woman’s belongings that have been given to her.

A day passed and Stella still did not return. Charles angrily called the staff and asked to find it.

“I don’t think she’s interested in living in this house anymore.”

Charles looked angrily at Daniel. He was there because he had to sign something. “All her things are in the room.”

“Are you worried that she won’t have anything to use and a shelter to live on?” Daniel asked his friend tentatively.

“I just don’t want Grandpa to say anything.”

Daniel smiled sparingly at his friend. He wanted to ask if it was just because of his grandfather. But he knows that his friend’s patience is short now, and he might even heap his anger on him.

“Well, my work is done, so I’m leaving. If you need anything, just call me.”

He just nodded to the lawyer and ordered the assistant to take him to the door. When his friend was gone, he picked up his cellphone again and called his ex-wife’s number. But like last night, she still can’t be contacted.

“Sir, Roy has arrived.” News from Marimar.

He stretched his back on the seat and waited for the one who was ordered to arrive to find out where Stella had gone.

“Sir, I found the taxi driver, and he pointed out where Ms. Stella was taken. But no one with that name was a patient at the hospital and—”

“What? Stella was taken to the hospital? Why and what happened?”

So Roy scratched his head because his boss didn’t understand him. He was still shocked and did not let him finish speaking.

“Where is she now?” Charles stood up and prepared to leave.

“We never caught up with her at the hospital, sir. Also, we don’t know what she did in that building because her name is not on the patient list there.”

Charles returned to his seat with a dark aura on his face. “Find out where she is now and bring her back here before my grandfather finds out about the divorce.”

Roy nodded understandingly to the man. His boss just looks heartless, but he doesn’t want to disappoint the old man in him.

“Your father is outside,” said Alex to the girl lying on the bed. It is forbidden for her to move, so she just lies down there.

Stella sighed, and she was no longer able to move to avoid her own family. After opening the door, her eyes met the dark aura of her father’s face.

“Why did you let them treat you like that? I didn’t let you do what you wanted just to be oppressed by his family!”

Stella closed her eyes and was almost deafened by the strength of her father’s voice. His anger seeped through her bones and if the person who caused it was in front of them, her father would surely have strangled him.

“Dad, I’m fine. Let me get revenge when I can get back on my track and become strong.” She kept her eyes closed as she pleaded with her father.

“That’s bullshit! You still love that man despite what he did to you?” Lauro yelled angrily at his daughter. “You think your grandfather will just keep quiet?”

Stella opened her eyes and couldn’t help but be agitated. “Dad, don’t tell him that—”

“Too late,” Lauro interrupted his daughter’s speech. ”He found out you’re back and hiding here.”

Stella’s shoulders slumped and worried about the child that was still in her womb.

“I can’t disguise what’s happening now. I did everything before so that he wouldn’t find you and meet the man you’re obsessed with.”

Stella pursed her lips and tried to calm herself. Every time she was worried, her lower belly ached. Her baby would be affected by every emotion she released.

“He’s coming here too, and I can’t hide you anymore.”

Tears spontaneously fell from her eyes and she placed her palms on her stomach. Her grandfather was different when he got angry, and he definitely did not want her pregnancy to continue.

A few moments later, the door opened again. There was silence in the room when Don Fausto entered. His cold look darted at the girl lying on the bed.

“G-grandpa…” She stammered and could not meet the cold look of her grandfather.

“I have a doctor with me. I don’t want to have a bastard great-grandchild.”

Stella felt that she was getting weaker after hearing this. She looked at her father for help, but his gaze was firmly fixed on her. “Grandpa, please let this child live. I promise, when I’m strong I’ll do whatever you ask me to do.”

The old man’s aura was still dark as he stared intently at the girl. His gaze shifted to his granddaughter’s stomach, and he thought for a moment. “After five years, you will follow everything I want, and I will choose the one you marry.”

It was like a thorn was pulled out of Stella’s throat when she heard it. She accepted the old man’s condition. “But if my son disappears, our agreement will be null and void.”

A corner of the old man’s lips lifted slightly. This is what he liked about his granddaughter. He inherited his cunning. She really makes sure before making a close deal. He has a word and so does his granddaughter. He knew that she had no intention of introducing the man who made her pregnant to them either. For now, he will leave her to fulfill the agreement.

“I will send a good doctor who will take care of you and your child. I will not mess up with you until you give birth.”

That was enough for Stella and her mood for the child was reassured. She broke up with Charles because she wanted her baby to live. So now she can’t allow her grandfather to do bad things against her either.

She is Stella Mcwell, the only granddaughter and sole heiress of a business tycoon inside and outside the country. But no one knows that publicly because her grandfather hid her from the public when she was a child until adulthood.

She used to think that her family was embarrassed about her because she was a woman. She even rebelled when she found out her true identity. She thought that she only had a simple life. The recognized cousin of her father who took care of her turned out to be their assistant. She also thought at the time that her grandfather and father were working far away because they were often absent, which turned out to be wrong.

“Five years…” Don Fausto nodded and seemed to count the years on his finger. “There will be a big event to choose a man for you to marry.”

Lauro shook his head as he watched his father. Even now, it is obvious that this is happening. He didn't follow before, so he gets back at his daughter.
