“Is he the one you said was your friend, Diana?” Vanz asked his sister.

“Brother!” She smiled and held on to her brother’s arm.

“That’s him, brother, and please don’t torture him here.”

Mauro scratched the back of his neck and could no longer refuse the girl’s invitation. He knows Vanz. He knows that he is one of the nominees for CEO of that company today.

Vanz faced the man with a smile. “It’s nice to meet you again. I apologize for being in the conference room earlier if I have a lot of questions.”

Diana pursed her lips and gently pulled her brother’s arm. It means that she didn’t like what he did earlier.

“I understand that business is business. Even if I were in your position, I would do the same. Thank you for being professional, and please don’t give me special treatment because your sister became my friend.”

“Mauro, don’t worry because you are no longer at work, so my brother will talk to you like this. Get used to him because he treats everyone close to me like this.” Her

“Ma’am, let me prepare you your favorite breakfast.” Marimar quickly moved away from the boss’s ex-wife. Stella tried to stop the maid, but she had already moved away. She looked back at Charles, as if she were hallucinating, when the strange emotion was reflected in his eyes. It was as if her sight was deceiving her, and she could read in Charles’ eyes that he longs for her. Charles blinks in realization. It was as if he hadn’t recognized his own feelings earlier and had briefly lost himself. “It’s good that there is still some consent left in your heart and you thought of visiting Grandpa.” The anger returned to her heart because of what the young man said. It seems that she was just deceived by her own eyes earlier. The man is still arrogant and has no love for her. He still thinks of her as a gold digger and a hypocrite.“I don’t want trouble. I didn’t come here to talk to you.” Charles was momentarily stunned by Stella’s cold conversation with him. He stared into her eyes, bu

“Hija, be patient with my grandson. Don’t worry about me because there is a nurse who is already taking care of me. I am happy to see you today, and I am relieved because you seem to be happy with your life now.”Stella smiled and nodded to the old man before turning to Charles. “My husband is rich, so I don’t have to work hard to earn money.”Charles’s jaw tightened and moved. He couldn’t accept that his ex-wife no longer needed him because it looked like he had been replaced with a man with more money. “But don’t worry, I’ll still visit Grandpa Ramon and take care of him when I have time. I guess I am still welcome here anytime I want to come since this is my house, ain’t I?” “Of course, but let Grandpa stay here because he prefers to live here.”The young man’s face was formal when talking to her. She shook herself when she looked at his face again. The man seemed to be doing it with purpose, and he even grew his hair longer. “Don’t assume. You’re not the reason why he grew his

“The million pesos you are talking about; are you sure she took them in exchange for her freedom?” Charles was even more confused by the question from his grandfather. All he knows is that Stella accepted the money and left. “And you believe she has another man?” Ramon asked his grandson again. “Grandpa, you heard her saying earlier that she is married to a rich man.” He seems to be forced to answer his grandpa. Ramon shook his head. “Your sister, I hope he wouldn’t be stupid in choosing a marriage partner. And doesn’t become blind to the truth like you.”Charles sighed softly and didn’t argue with what his grandfather said. If he is the one that follows, he wants to expel his stepmother from their siblings’s lives when their father is gone. But Sophie loves Magda because she is her mother, who has come to her senses. His grandpa didn’t speak again, so he distracted himself with work again. “The food is ready, grandpa. Come on, I know you miss my cooking.” Stella energetically ap

“What are you doing here in my grandfather’s room? What do you need, and why did you come back?” Sophie asked Stella one question after another and immediately approached her grandfather. Stella thought about it. If Sophie acted, it would be like she was doing a disservice to her grandfather. “Sophie, what kind of question is that? It’s Stella’s house, so you shouldn’t be asking her that kind of thing.”Sophie was annoyed with Stella because she’s still the one that her grandfather is siding with. “She didn’t sign the deed, so she has no right to the house from my brother,” replied Sophie. Magda jumped from her stance when she heard what Sophie said. She suddenly got nervous, and the information might reach Charles’ knowledge.“What did you say?” Ramon’s eyes narrowed. “What that means is that you know she didn’t take what your brother gave her, but you didn’t tell Charles?” Sophie suddenly turned pale, and her chest puffed out. It’s too late to take back what she said out of jeal

The old man was already asleep when the doctor arrived. Stella just stayed on one side and had no intention of leaving, even though Sophie looked at her badly. “It’s a good thing that his blood is further prevented from increasing. Avoid getting him too angry.” The doctor’s advice to the patient’s family. “Let her go, brother, before Grandpa wakes up so that Grandpa doesn’t feel bad again.” Sophie pointed at Stella. “If you don’t have anything sensible to say, shut up, Sophie!” he said in a stern voice. Sophie’s lips were tightly pressed together, and her heart was filled with anger. She was the only one who heard what her brother said, but she was very embarrassed because it seemed like Stella was still taking sides.“You need to take him to the hospital tomorrow morning, and he needs to be tested,” the doctor reminded them while arranging the contents of his bag and preparing to leave. “Thank you very much, doc.” Charles shook hands with the doctor before leading him outside th

“You should thank me and be kind. Maybe you forgot you had a choice before you left?” Elizabeth quickly looked around, and maybe someone else heard what Stella was saying. “You, shut up! No one will believe you, even if you talk to them!” She gave Elizabeth a scornful look. She is good at pretending, just like Magda. She also uses Sophie, and she is infected by the plasticity of their behavior. “Don’t worry, I have no intention of returning to this family, so your secret will remain a secret.”Elizabeth’s gaze followed Stella’s, full of anger. After she spoke, she turned her back as if she were talking to trash.Inside the library, Sophie quietly approached her brother. When she looked at her stepmother, she was also silent. The aura on her brother’s face was intimidating, and she was even afraid to ask why they were called there. “Tell me everything now, you two.”Sophie and Magda looked at each other, both clueless as to what Charles was talking about. “Why did you tell me befor

“Don’t worry, I’ll return the ring to Grandpa. I forgot he gave it to me.”Charles opened his mouth but closed it again. He can’t say what was on his mind, and his ego is leading him again. “Maybe it’s the ring you’re waiting for to marry Elizabeth.”“I can marry her even without that ring!” She wanted to raise her eyebrows when she noticed that the young man’s jaw had tensed. She didn’t know what was making him angry, and every word that came out of his mouth had an emphasis.“Okay, I shouldn’t feel guilty about why you two aren’t married yet. You can take the jewelry if you regret giving it to the maid. But the clothes, bags, and shoes, let them go to Marimar.” Charles’ jaws clenched even more. It seems that the girl’s things are of no use to her. It really makes him feel like everything related to him is no longer important. “If you don’t need anything else, I’m going into the room to get the ring.” She didn’t wait for Charles to answer. She hastily turned around and made her w

She quickly wiped her lips, as if she were disgusted, when she got away from Charles. She wanted to scold him, but suddenly her cellphone rang. Seeing the caller, she immediately answered it, even though Charles was still in front of her.“Mommy, I’m going to sleep now,” Zion told his mother. His voice was sweet. Stella smiled when she heard her son’s voice. Somehow, the irritation she felt was reduced. “Yes, baby, I’m sorry if I hadn’t called earlier. Have you eaten?”Charles clenched his fist when he saw the joy on Stella’s face while talking to the person on the other line. That kind of female tone in conversation was only used by Stella with him before. And now? It looks like she really loves the person she’s talking to because she’s using the same tone. “Yes, Mommy. I miss you!”Stella smiled again at her son’s sweetness. If she were in front of him, she would have kissed the boy on his cheeks multiple times. “I miss you too, baby!” Charles’s appearance darkened even more. The

“Oh, eat this to get rid of your anger.” Meashelle gave a slice of mango to the girl as they walked to the entrance of the store.Diana immediately took a bite of it. She was about to ask for one more slice when she noticed two people looking intently at her. She slowly chewed what was in her mouth and continued to walk slowly.“Are they waiting for us?” Meashelle asked Diana in a whisper.Diana shrugged as she looked straight at Mauro. Well, he couldn’t see her eyes because she was wearing dark shades. He frowned again while looking at her. Her mouth was still full of mango slices, and she didn’t want to finish it right away. She is still enjoying the taste of the mango juice. She anchored on Meashelle’s arm, and when they were close to Mauro and Denise, they hurriedly past them.“Where are you going?” Mauro asked Diana sternly.“Going home.” She answered the young man in a muffled way because her mouth was still full and she didn’t bother to look at him.Mauro quickly chased after t

She withdrew her hand from his grasp, but he only tightened it so much that she was already shrugging.Mauro frowned and stared at the girl’s face. She was obviously hurt, and her lips pressed together tightly. When he looked at the back of her palm again, he noticed that it was red.Diana quickly withdrew her hand and moved it away from the young man. “I will measure it myself.” She extended her right palm in front of him.“What happened to your hand?” Instead, he asked the girl and did not give her the ring.“Nothing,” she responded coldly to Mauro and kept her palm open.Mauro sighed, and the woman’s behavior really changed. Fate 2Chapter 16: RingThe next day, Mauro’s driver picked Diana up after nine in the morning. She did not ask where the young man was. She’s still with Meashelle because it was what her grandfather wants, which is in her favor.“Why were we brought here?” Meashelle asked while looking up at a large and tall building.“This is where Mauro’s family’s company is,” Diana answered shortly before taking another bite of the mango. When she looked at the driver, his face could no longer be painted, and he was feeling sour from what she was eating.“I thought we were going to a jewelry shop and—”“Sir Mauro had something important to go to, so he’s not here yet. It was Sir Kobe who ordered that Ma’am Diana be brought here first,” the driver’s quick explanation.Meashelle glared at the driver and did not let her finish speaking. But he just smiled at her. Mauro just waited for his father to return before starting to talk about his marriage with Diana again.“Hija, when do you want to set the wedding and where?” Beth asked Diana.Diana was about to open her mouth, but Mauro preceded her to speak.“A simple wedding would be enough because you are in a hurry. Also, I don’t want many people to know about the wedding.”It was like a needle pierced Diana’s heart when she heard what Mauro said. It’s as if he said that he was ashamed of her as his wife, so he didn’t want people to know her. She would have answered the same, that she wanted a simple wedding ceremony. It’s just more painful to hear it from the mouth of the man she loves.“No way. Diana is my only granddaughter, and I want her to experience a fancy wedding! We have our own money; if it's because of the expenses, I’ll take care of it!” Vincent objected.Kobe sighed, and there will be another misunderstanding. “Señor, money is not a problem here!”“Grandpa, it’s alright. She should not be angry and disappointed with Mauro. Above all, she didn’t need to explain, and she let him just look at her like that. She knows that he won’t believe her, so she shouldn’t show her real emotions. The expression she showed at the two was blank, and her mouth remained closed.Mauro was only irritated when Diana remained silent and he couldn’t read what was on her mind. At dinner time, Mauro’s family arrived at Vincent’s mansion. And right after the food was served, the staff also left.Mauro looked around when they entered the dining room. They will eat first before talking about the wedding between him and Diana.“My granddaughter is coming down,” Vincent informed when he noticed Mauro’s gaze, as if he were looking for something.Diana slowly went down the stairs even though she knew Mauro was already there with his family. Diana ran back to her room when the guests were gone. She rushed to the bathroom and immediately threw up that she had previously suppressed all throughout the interview. As time went on, her vomiting became more frequent. She has to hurry to get out of her grandfather’s house.Meashelle immediately followed the girl. She is worried, and it seems that her body has also been affected due to her pregnancy.“Sister Meashelle, do you think Grandpa doesn’t notice my condition?” Diana asked worriedly.“That’s what I always pray for,” she replied genuinely.Diana smiled and hugged the girl. Without her, she would certainly have no one else to lean on. She thought of a way to get out today. She has to go out to eat what she has been craving for a while now. As long as she does not eat any sour foods, she continues to throw up.In the living room, Vincent grinned after putting down the cellphone.“What’s the next plan, grandpa?” Vans asked as he approached his grandfather.“Let’s get ready bec

She was disappointed with Diana earlier, especially from what she was wearing.“Then I’ll call them tomorrow morning,” Kobe’s decision.“It’s up to you to work together in the company from now on. I have to follow Ramon and my grandson to another country.”Mauro nodded understandingly to Stella’s grandfather. He will be Stella’s assistant in the company, and his position also increased.
