CHAPTER TWO

ALEX'S POV

I stepped into the bright morning sun and could feel its immediate  impact on my skin although winter was at its peak, I could still feel the sun rays enriching my skin with a tangling sensation .  Was so eager on my way to school like a child eager to see what lies beneath the Christmas tree wondering what the gift contained, so eager to see her, to smell her, touch her,  I can't wait to taste her. 

I approached the school entrance with my backpack hanged on my left shoulder scanning the entrance  but my wolf senses rose with so much force it sent goosebumps across and brought me to a halt, something was wrong, I couldn't feel her or smell her. I stood still at the entrance into the school hallway using my wolf senses, I tried to smell her. Something is wrong. I could smell her 12km away, especially when we were in the same building. It means she is not in school yet but I know her to be an early person and it's some minutes past 9 am. Something is wrong. I walked briskly to my car, a red Lamborghini with black stripes. Throwing my bag at the passenger's seat, I pressed the start button and heard the car roar into life. Fear and anxiety flowing through my veins, I drove out of the parking lot with the screeching sound of my tire. Students rushing into the school turned to where the sound was coming from and were staring with wide eyes. A kid beside the entrance into the school hallway removed his sunglasses to see what was happening.

"Please let her be ok"  that was my silent prayer.

Driving through the streets honking behind every car that tries to slow me down, home seems to be on the other side of the world. I drove with so much speed 220km per hour, red flags mocking me on my windshield but I cared less, all I could think of was Star. I need to get home as soon as possible. Something is definitely wrong with Star,  my wolf is starting to worry. 

Reaching home, I stomped into the sitting room. No one was at the site, I was moving towards the dining area and heard voices. Bargain into the dining room,  mum saw me and stood followed by Justin,  Cain, Allison, Styles, and Ethan. 

"Alexander,"  Mum called out. "What's wrong?" She could see worry written all over my face. 

"Justin, Ethan….to study. Now! " I barked out.

Mum looked directly at me and understood what was going on. She nodded in response. "Allison,  you all come with me."  she ordered, waving towards them. 

Looking through the window at the right side of the study,  I asked "Who has her?". Justin and Ethan both looked at each other. Turning to face them, I looked directly at them "I asked a question, who has her? "

Justin came forward  with his hands tucked behind his jeans and said "Well it seems Infinite has her"  

"What?"  Screaming, I jabbed the window so hard it shattered to pieces. My veins popped out on my forehead, all I could see was red turning. I saw the shelf positioned close to the now shattered window and threw it right across the room. I was getting bigger, my body temperature rising,  my emerald green eyes now orange were fused with anger. I moved to hold Justin by the throat but was stopped immediately by  Ethan grabbing me by clasping his hands on my head through my back. He pinned me to the wall. My face directly at it, I could smell the wood sprayed with chemicals.

"Calm down Alex" , that was his wolf speaking to me. Trying to calm me. When he noticed I calmed down. He let go of me patting my back.

"I told you both to always watch and guard her against something like this. Now Infinite has her" I screamed pulling at my hair as if that was the cause of my dilemma.

"We always watched her but that day she was taken, there was someone else. Someone helped capture Star. That person doesn't belong to the Infinites pack and the person knew our every move. Like the person could predict our next move." Justin said as a matter of fact. He was tense.

"What do you mean?"  I tried to understand what was being said. 

"Someone in our pack is betraying us" Ethan suggested with so much confidence.

"Why do you say someone in our pack? What makes you believe it's someone in our pack? " I asked, confused.

Adjusting his jacket, Ethan said"That is so because we couldn't trail the person. Whoever that person might be, he is strong, stronger than we can imagine, he is fast,  and has a different eye color which consists of our packs color emerald green and orange. He could  block other wolves' senses, my gut tells me it's a man."  

"Are you sure about that? The person can also be a woman. Never underestimate the power of a woman. They can be deadly."  Justin completed the last sentence folding his hands at his chest.

I turned to Ethan and saw him looking straight at Justin with raised eyebrows 

We all stood in silence. I know for a fact that the only person with such power in our pack is an Alpha and momentarily there are just two Alphas, which is Dad and me me I but what baffles me is what Justin said. A woman with such power? But who and why help infinite

 Trying to get my head around what is happening, I asked "When is the next blood moon?"  

"In the next two months?"  answered Justin.

Two months from now. I placed my hands behind me and asked Ethan"And when is the next full moon ?"  

"Fortnight from today. " Ethan said after much consideration.

Something is certainly equivocal and I need to handle this. 

"Ethan, Justin ! get the pack ready. We are going for a walk. " Saying this, I knew exactly where to get my answers from. A smile crept onto my face. "Star, please be strong for me."
